I saw a fireball (pyrotechnics) created for this film from my classroom in Shirecliffe College, Sheffield, circa 1983/4. It was a dull day, and it lit up the inside of the classroom, even though it was some distance away. Pretty scary! It would have been good to have had some warning!
Can't say I've killed anyone either, can't say I laughed at the people dying either. Can say that I laughed at the joke someone made about Russia holding a grudge for a war that took place over a century ago.
I thought i were the only one? ha ha... I watch Threads, the QED documentary on here called Armageddon and the movie Miracle mile quite often. I must admit Threads is definately the best Nuclear war film ever made. Not watered down into a fairy tale but brutally realistic.
I have this on DVD. Is a very good film. Just glad I didn't see it at the time, I was only 8. I remeber they used to test the warning system on a sunday about 12 noon. Was totally unaware of what that was about at the time.though.
This film was shot in late 1983 and early 1984. Being released on the British Broadcasting Corporation on 23rd Septemeber 1984, it was made available on VHS in 1987, and DVD in 2000.
This ain't from the 70's its the 80's change the description .... I watched this when I was at school in 84

Sure is a lot of screaming in this video. But if there were ever a day to scream, it would be the day depicted: DOOMSDAY!!!

2012 is the old mayan calender who says that this would will go under and a new one will rise.
That does not mean that the world will go under by a nuclear war ...

Quite. In fact it doesn't mean anything at all. It's just a calendar; one of many.

I recommend "The War Game"(1965) over this tripe.
It bullseyed in 50 min to what "Threads"
stumbled about for 2 hours.

This would be Hell it self if such a power
of force was ever unleased on earth again,
the sheer hopelessness and fear goes beyond explanation. Horror!!
