So how did it turn out? I've heard of possible problems using a belt drive with a frame not specifically designed to handle the high tension of the belt. Any slipping when really mashing on the pedals? I was considering doing the same conversion for my Soma double cross, looks great!
@cwujek ... the build was very successful. The key to using the belt drive components is to insure proper alignment, appropriate stiffness in the chainstays, and proper belt tension. Bike has been running strong for 2 years now.
This video is a one off we did for a friend. It is NOT something we commercially do, and we do not manufacture or sell the parts for a conversion. We only do a belt drive as a custom build.
Great coupling design. I am mounting the same design on a 70's Fuji Sport 10 Road Bike.
