I'm so jealous of you! I'm turning twelve this year and i'm a new level six! And how do you not get out of breath during your floor routine? I feel like i'm going to collapse after mine. But your really good!
a girl at my gym has this exact music!!! I had my first level 7 meet 2 months ago, my scores ranged from a 6.8 on bars to a 9.125 on floor(isnt that weird?)
This girl is almost exactly like me. We have the same passes on almost everything and my skills are just like hers. I love watching this because it isn't one of those girls who get 9.5's on everything!
that Was really good I have been in level 7 for like 6 months now and i just got my giants you dont even need them for level 7 so dont worry about that
this routine was originally made for a girl that had asthma and she often had to pause for breath, when she taught me the routine we didn't realize there were so many until I competed it. It was changed after this meet.
no you can compete level seven without giants. its perfectly ok. do your beam series acctually count though? maybe there are new rules this year. be sure to show flight after your vault.
That was not that bad but you really have to work on your bars because your freehips weren't even at a 45 degree angle and thats level 6, also you shouldn't compete level 7 if you don't have giants. Your beam was good and so was your floor, I can tell that it is your strongest event, but you got off music a lot. Your vault, you should focus on pushing off with your shoulders and not bending your arms. But congratulations :) good job
good job. i am a level 7 gymnast too starting in november also at the showdown. i am hoping to become a level 8 also by half of the year but i wanna go when im ready. i do giants and a walk over handspring for my skills why dont you?? what is ur first meet called????
this meet was last year and it was called judges cup. At our gym, the first year level 7s dont do the bwo, bhs series on the beam. I didn't have my giants for this meet, but I do them now and I also do bwo bhs on beam now.
Great job... One comment... in our gym if u dont have your giants u dont compete if u dont have ur freehips higher u dont compuete as well as casts.. I go to gym kinetics.. otherwise god job... for your gym
yeah good idea, you will win almost every comp! because you have all your level 7 skills and they will be like perfect when you get to competition. noo i dont have any vids of comp but i have some of training that i should put up but i will need to get people to help me do that
'm not quite ready for 8. I am starting the season as a 7, I don't have all the 8 skills yet, but I am hoping to go 8 before the season is over. Are you going 8 next year? Do you have any vids?
Oh because I am about 5'3 and going into level 6/7, and I was wondering if I was too tall or big to beable to compete, or if I'd stand out a lot. But I tought your size was perfect, and just wanted to compare :)
One of my teammates is about 5'3 and she does well. She is a little scared to do giants because of hitting her toes, but she can. You will be fine and do great.
Hi. Sorry for one more comment! I wanted to reiterate that your routines were really lovely. You have very nice form and it's clear that you've spent a lot of time working on proper body positions and execution. And great swing on bars!
My only comment on the vault is WHAT!?!? i no she took a step on the 2nd but it wasn't that big! and the first one was good where is a deduction that big coming from?
**Note: the following is meant to explain why the gymnast in the video likely got the low vault score, not devalue her routines in any way. I think she is a lovely gymnast.**
It looks like an absurd score, but the judging criteria allow the judges to take up to 5 tenths for each phase that the gymnast is piked (e.g., pre-flight, on the vault, and post-flight), depending on the degree if pikiness. She is piked in every phase of the vault, so she is getting hit in all 3. My guess is she got the full .5 deduction on the first 2 phases, and a less severe deduction on the last phase when she opened up.
Also, the severe arm bend is up to a .5 deduction--the arm bend resulted in a lack of repulsion, which led to being on the table too long, which led up to another .5 dudeuction for staying too long in the support phase, and while I cannot tell from the angle of the video, b/c of the lack of block, the angle of repulsion was likely past 46 degrees, which could have led up to another .5 deduction.
