  • sat on one been wanting one for a long time. then i realized its the most uncomfy bike i had ever been on

  • ducati makes super bikes period, but i would much rather be ridin my busa.

  • HAYABUSA sucks the ugly peice of shit!

  • @wwenaveed youre damn right!!! they think chroming everything makes it look better!! cant polish a terd IDIOT!! haha

  • so what are the numbers on that beast? absolutely awesome sound.

  • @TOMMYTOM78 7000hp at 2rpm and 900000000 (yes thats 8 zeros) of torque. help any?

  • @TOMMYTOM78 173 rwhp, 94 ftlbs of torque. (It's in the video description)

  • i dont know why people argue about who makes better bikes. i have a ducati and japanese bikes and i like both. i test rode an 08 honda cbr 1000 and loved it . i thought it was much better than the 09 r1 i tried. the ducati i feel more cautious in my abuse . the japanese bikes for example i abuse pretty bad and they hold up. most bikes are real fast and more than adequate for most people.

  • yea Italians make some snazy rides.

Uhm i was wondering if someone could settle a stupid (REALLY STUPID) despute. my friend thinks a harely bike could go up to 200mph (because it hasa bigger size motor).. but i say impossible. What do you guys think, and why! PLEASE HELP ME.

  • They have dragrace harley's :-), why don't you google it?

  • any bike road or street bike is govern to 186 tops no matter what the speedo says. I think think there is a computer chip in the bike. i don't think you can take it out.

  • That's only the Japanese bikes, and its per a Gentlemen's Agreement. The Italian and other manufacturers don't do this. The 186 is the 300kmh 'rule'. MV Agusta came out with a F4 312R - 312 being its top speed from the factory (194mph). Its easy to raise the limiter on the jap bikes with some software.

  • @LoginErroronu change friends...

  • Bikes are bikes, and Ducati make fine race bikes, as for all you JAP lovers that think JAP bike are the best, simple, GO TEST ride one, as for HP well the 1098R is about top of its game, stock HP is way over most other twins and defo over most IL4's. So those that ride R1's, GSX etc and like to big up the JAP bikes and slag off Ducati (god knows why) read it and weep, also some Ducati owners/riders do ride like fags, but hey I know plenty of JAP riders that do too. Live a little TEST RIDE one :)

  • the secret to DUCATIs victories in the SBK is not the hp coz the the yamaha-m1 has more hp but it's the V-twin(L-twin) design of the engine where you have TORQUE AND POWER at low rpms, it gives 'em to you early and this matters on the race track. DUCATI has brains although they fool you into thinking they only have passion. DUCATI is a sharp dagger wrapped in red silk.

  • Dude, the M1 runs in MotoGP, not WSBK. The R1, with less displacement that the Ducatis runs in WSBK.

When the rules demand an even displacement, they are all running inline or v fours.

  • right, i meant "m1", and it does have more hp even with only 1000cc than the 1198.4cc L-twin because the ducati is just a v-twin. it's just that the torque and power comes in quicker because you have it right away at lower rpms than with inline4s.

  • 2009 Yamaha r1 = 454 lb WET - 180bhp at 12,500rpm - 85lb/ft of torque at 10,000rpm - MSRP $12,390

    2009 Ducati 1098r = 412 lbs WET - 180.00 HP (131.4 kW)) @ 9750 RPM - 99.1 ft.lbs) @ 7750 RPM - MSRP $39,995

So no sir your wrong your R1 Would not ever ever ever beat a ducati at all. Not to mention they just came out with another Special Ducati the FIRST IN THE WORLD MOTO GP REPLICA STREET LEGAL BIKE. it makes 200 HP. sorry baby Ducati wins again. Just like they won the MOTO GP championship

  • hey guys...lets go and kick some jap biker's asses...1098 R is the one!!! fuck gsxr

  • why do people even compare a ducati with a jap bike??? a ducati is the Ferrari of the motorcycle world. jap bikes are just like supped up hondas.

  • @keyhanoboy ducati is like a Ferrari, and Honda is like the turbo supra that murders the ferrari in the movie fast and the furious haha. fuck du-crapy

  • @TheSnotflakes came back to real life /watch?v=bNPR9fjE9S8

    answer at this, supra. :)

  • @keyhanoboy yamaha one last year in motogp. this ducati is $35,000 you can get every jap bike for $12,000 and they are faster. you can buy a a100rr bmw which is the fastest bike ever and its 3 times cheaper than this. 1198's 1098's are bullshit

  • @keyhanoboy so what youre saying is...you have a small penis so you have to spend 5x what i spend on my honda...just to still get owned by me? Ah ok i get it now

  • 1098 R I believe its better than gsx-r 1000guys...am I right? it seems and I heard that is really really fast................

  • Jap bikes are like sewing machines, they do us all a great service, and do their job with nechanical precision. But they have no soul. When you thumb the switch on a Ducati bar, you can close your eyes and alomst go back in time to the 50's Gp races, with that deep V-twin sound, and vibration that lets you know its alive. These beasts have souls, history, presence. If you have never owned one, you just won't understand.

  • Damn I accidentally voted your comment down instead of up :(

    You speak the truth.

    2001 748S

  • I agree whole-heartedly with u. BUt in all honesty for a 40k dollar ducati i would rather buy an r1 gsxr 1000 or any other 1000cc bike for 10 grand and then put another 30 g's worth of upgrades on it.

Hands down the cheaper upgraded bike would rape any ducati. Yes its moded but when matching the price it's just unbeatable.

  • No offense but the only people that look at the price tag like you just did (10K for a bike and 30K on mods) are the ones that can't afford one. People that can afford the "R" will still drop 10K in mod's to the bike and not break a sweat

But one the other Hand I do NOT agree that just cuz u can afford the "R" you deserve one. People that can't ride and buy Fast bikes just to say they got one will get hurt and my insurance rates will go up lol

  • Ducati should make everyone interested in buying the "R" do a Track run in what ever time they see fit to determine the Real rider's that can handle the bike

  • I cant agree with you more man FUCK all the haters to the best. They just hate cus they cant afford it and will never ride one.

  • DAMN RIGHT!

  • Sorry man i disagree the ducati is the fastest ever They have been racing since the 1920s and Japan well they havent. If you mod your Jap bike out Yes you will beat a Ducati STOCK. but if you ALSO mod out the DUcati then it wins again. Basically in a fair test the Ducati will always win there just the best at it. Its in their blood man.

  • And how many championships have the Ducs won compared to the jap bikes?

not many my friend.. If fully moded these bikes would be the same as jap bikes moded. THey would all have the SAME upgraded parts and nothing would be significantly different.

  • Ducati 13 1990 Raymond Roche 1991 Doug Polen 1992 Doug Polen 1994 Carl Fogarty 1995 Carl Fogarty 1996 Troy Corser 1998 Carl Fogarty 1999 Carl Fogarty 2001 Troy Bayliss 2003 Neil Hodgson 2004 James Toseland 2006 Troy Bayliss 2008 Troy Bayliss
  • give up friend....ducati ROCKS !

  • Consider this:

Ducati annual sales (2007): 235.7 million € and 110 employees in racing teams(motogp+SBK)

Honda annual sales (2007): 69.379 Million € and 25000 employees in motoGP and SBK!!!!

  • @capiarex cheaper japanese labor. and jap bikes cost less. ducatis are over priced and the racing team are all stuck up and also over paid.

    there is your answer.

  • @jdmnismomike Thats not an answer, thats your opinion. =/

EAT SHIT AND DIE DUCATI HATERS!

  • @jdmnismomike the 2 factories have different numbers because they work in different markets. honda has huge quantities of resources and engeeneers but in SBK in 23 years (1988-2010) ducati won 16 championships (more than a half!). and i say SBK and not motoGP 'cause i'm talking about motorcycles available to the public, not prototypes. Compare mercedes to ferrari, a mercedes has more market, it cost less, it's fast, efficient and comfortable but driving a ferrari is better than having sex ;)

  • sta superbike

    es supr gnial

    tuve la oportunida de

    subirme a una

    jeje

  • People who haven't got the slightest fucking clue about engine mechanics should just shut the fuck up instead of blabbering about hp this and that. Ducatis are twins. FYI mechanical retards: more cilinders for the same displacement = more power, ALWAYS. In order to compete with 4 cilinder 1000cc bikes a twin needs more displacement. Embarassing is that for so many years Ducati ruled the track with the same displacement but half the cilinders. And straight line is meaningless for track bikes.

  • this bike would get raped by any of the supersport 600cc bikes. im pretty sure your a ducati fan but you just have to face the facts. 4cyl is way better the 2cyl it dont matter what fucking cc it has.

  • Thats why Ducati is raping everyone in SBK???

    NOOB

  • so true.

  • @abchaz01 max biagi and aprilia is doing the raping. noob

  • @hereHehereHE lawl. Idiot. How many titles Aprilia has ????

  • yeah because a 600 has about 100-110whp and about 40ft-lbs of torque and revs from 1500-15000rpm with the powerband from 9000-14500rpm whereas the ducati revs from 950-11000rpm with usable power from 4500-10500rpm and it's got 60-70more whp and double the torque

    and it weighs less

    now how exacly would a 600ss take a 1098r?

  • mmmhh.. i don't think so.. maybe a 999 would've got raped by a 600.. but this is different...

  • 999 got given a very good run by the k5 and k6 gsxr750, in a straight line.

the 1098r will eat and 600-750cc four. im not too sure about the 1000s in real world terms. there seems to be many 'experts' here though....

the torque to weight ratio of the 1098r is rather epic isnt it? but at the end of the day not many people can ride the difference between this and a jap thou, and if you do so on the road you must be silly

  • A 999 still has a solid 20-30hp over a 600cc at ANY rpm. The 999 won world titles too, against R1s and GSX-R1000s. As far as a 1098R against a 600cc...it's not worth a comment.

  • I believe thats why in World Superbike, Ducati won all but one rider's and one manufacturer's championship in the 90's. 8 straight if I remember right. Against 1000cc fours? And they're still winning championships? Huh. I guess YOU need the facts. I remember where I was, the time of day, what I had for lunch, when I heard my first Ducati, not rode, or owned just heard. Can you say that about your 600? Doubt it. Move along.

  • u get the same person on a 1098 and on a gsxr give him a straight line, yes gsxr, do a few laps on the track, thats where its the ducati's "straight line" , more focused, makes u a better rider, and thats the point, its not the bike its the rider.

  • you buy a ducati .......because it's a ducati. everyone knows they are expensive and slower compared to an 08 Gixer or Honda 1000, but you buy one because it's better looking, easier to ride (lower peak power due to big fat V Twin) and has 1000 times the passion and soul of a Jap bike. people will always look back at a Ducati, just how many people take a second look at a common GSXR? and they sound like god himself :D let there be peace biking brothers

    xxx

  • also Ducati's hold there value A LOT better.

  • You're right! Plus Ducati doesn't change model every 2 years like japans do

  • just look how ducati in motogp want to use a new frame going to use for next year a unique block, just as jap use from years, the only difference is that it will be made by carbon.

and also in series byke ducati is goin to introduce aluminum frames, just look 696,and his subframe.

the answer for that is simple, after years they understand that tubeframes are heavier and "softer" than the alu ones.so once they are on the hp/frame capacity limit they are going to replace the frames but TOO LATE!

  • I think you miss this point, triplex7576. When I was younger I wanted the best performing and most hp. Now I want things because of the sound it makes. I'ts like saying I want the F430 over the ultra fast nissan GTR. Is the GTR faster? YES. Is the GTR more tech advanced? YES. Does it have the beauty of the F430? NO. Does it sound like an exotic car? NO. I have a red 1098 and when I roll with my friends in their liter bikes people still look at my slow bike=)

  • I wouldnt say that a liter bike is faster than a 1098. Maybe your frineds have more cochones^^

  • well a magazine a couple months ago did a superbike comparo. In a straight line and on the track the 1098 base and R were "slightly" slower than the jap liter bikes. But yes, on real roads and canyons I'm faster because of the 1098's instant torque. So yes in the magazine world and overall top speed a jap liter bike is faster but in the real world where we don't redline every gear a 1098 is faster.

  • Yeah V-Twins rule. I was on a stock 2001 VTR SP1 riding on an Oulton Park trackday and I was battering 07 Gixxer 1000's and R1's all day.

    SP1 = 125 bhp (approx)

    GSXR 1000 = 165 - ish

They were faster on the straights but I was much better into and out of the corners, you can just pin the throttle out the corner and BAM! you're gone.

Try that on a inline 4 and you highside!

Overall I was much faster over a lap

(An instructor on an R^ did show me my place however :-)

    Twins rule!

  • hes saying it because they are faster. fucking retard.

  • hahahhah,are you kidding?

the most advanced tech on a duc??

    ahahhahaha

ducati gots the oldest tecnology never applied on a bike.

let's go ducati corse (racing team)!

ducati series bikes are way overpriced and they are the slowest by far.

1098r has TC but this is the only tecnology it got.ducati are the most obsolete machine never produced and look, I'm Italian

  • 1098 r with full termignoni 192 hp torque 14.2

  • sorry "triplex" and "iloveroundabouts" but no other superbike is HALF the machine this thing is regardless of how fast it is on a dragstrip or how much HP it has. this bike is about more than just speed. it has some of the most advanced motorcycle technology on earth in it. you can lay the bike down around a turn with the throttle wide open! not to mention that peak HP is at incredibly low RPMs

  • iloveroundabouts

you are wrong,it's a 1200cc bike 1098r so much more embarassing that's still on par with jap bikes.spending half the money of this bike you could create a monster jap bike with 200hp and more!

  • A 1098 R we talking about. I think you should go and purposely test drive one round a twisty road. I think your find it balistically fast. I've rode a 1098s open termi's and with it's full system it has managed faster 1/4 mile than the 1 L 4's. The R model is much faster and is what you have seen on tv beat all the other bikes. People who think power wins are the one's getting owned round the twisties and praying for a straightline. You would be lucky to even keep up with a 1098r.

  • yes we are in portland.

  • @edrperformance portland oregon

  • Mine dyno'd 174hp and 94ftlb at the back wheel with the race exhaust and ECU. Deadly and light... heh heh.

  • Hey, I think that IS my bike - you guys in Portland?

  • I want one!

  • about three times the usable torque and ten times the class

  • what class?? the same as the yamaha.

  • hahaha! thats like saying a corvette has the same class as a ferrari. jap bikes are like assholes, everybody has one!

  • class??? the only difference is the bike was made in italy .. what class you stereotypical idiot??? over priced with the same performance as a 1000cc jap sports bike, embarassing. its "1100cc" it shouldn't even be allowed in bsb and its still on par with a litre inline 4.

  • Well the 1098 does have more usable torque. If you don't believe it test drive one. No wait, I was told that if you ever test drive one be prepared to buy it because it's that good. It's well known that twin is less powerful than an inline 4. I didn't buy a 1098 to be the fastest. I would have bought a 'busa if that was my goal. It's a sexy bike when I roll with my friends with gixxers, R1's and 1K honda's people still stop and look at my slow 1098.

  • agreed, lucky ducati man!

  • i have one :) an asshole and a jap bike lol these people don't understand what owning a ducati is about. i tear up looking at the one in the showroom (not literally)
