DeeDoubleYou81, you got it! I love that area of Colorado. I'd like to pass through there again, but I think I'll go a little more north next time. Driving into the mountains to small places like Estes is great!
in ghost hunters, i found it out it was haunted plus, under there which is the basement there was some kind of 12 year old laughing creepy, i didnt go there tho but i saw it on the show trust me it is hunted
spothgirl101, I've been in the basement area. There are service tunnels built into the mountain for the workers. I didn't go far in the basement area, because it's behind security doors. You have to go with one of the employees. I talked to some of the people that work there. Several of them come from other countries and live in groups in the nearby houses (like a youth hostel). Oh, when I was there the Travel Channel was doing a show about most haunted places. It was neat to see them work.
BlkUnk, I don't know if it's really haunted. I don't much believe people when they say they've seen a ghost. I went there to for writer's inspiration and to see a wonderful hotel and view. It's the same place that inspired Steven King to write "The Shining." Tell you the truth, the hotel does it's magic, I was a little spooked when I went up to the fourth floor and I didn't run into or hear a single person... until later that night. It's a popular hotel because of the book "The Shining."
I've been here! It is slightly spooky, but spooky is cool! Estes Park is such a beautiful area, gotta love Colorado!
