  • True samurai drumming. HAI!

  • 2:17 the clave independent is FUCKING AMAZING

  • First time I see a drummer play a perfect rumba-clave with his left foot while playing a complex solo (and even playing the hihat with the same foot!). Great technique! Crazy music! Did I understand ot correctly, did he compose the music as well?

  • @boomtao : he did compose some (really new song), and re-arrange some other famous songs. If you amazed by his technique, try to see his vids called 4-Way Independence. He showed us how to play.

  • that's how much win akira jimbo is made of. smiling while playing ridiculously syncopated beats.

  • NO es de 14!!!!

  • no dude, its a 13"×7" Beech Custom Akira Jimbo Sig. Snare Drum. wooden hoop

  • wtf the snare is no 14' it got to be 16" or something!!!

  • @teamsleepnine No it's 13x7

  • 武蔵!!

  • which other drummers combine acoustic and synth drums like akira?

  • jajaj that sounded super smach bros from n64

  • hell yeah thats me

  • Aprecio el interes de Akira por la musica latina, pero esto no es un merengue es un "Ringtone" que suena horrible. y pues.....Akira rules....this song sucks !

  • dudes got some serious chops and a great groove but i personally don't like the e-pads lol.

other than that it was great i think.

and is it just me, or was that snare enormous?

it looked like it was like 16" and probably a good 7 or 8" deep at least.

  • I agree with you man, i think the midi pads take away from amazing chops.

I think that snare is just his yamaha signature - 13" x 7".

  • He's a musical drummer.....plus if you think about it he's saving A LOT of money by being his own band and composer....I rather have that than chops any day because drummers as you know don't get paid for just having chops but they get paid for playing songs with well placed chops......

  • not my style of drumming. but respect. he enjoyed playing all the time.. all the drum solo vid of his, most of the time smiling.

  • wow.

i really respect people like you

    thank you

  • @monsterhaur Cool. So What is your style of drumming? I always see/ hear people talking about not liking certain styles and stuff. I'm a fan of every style that has talented, good quality players/ music. Like I can listen to this, then switch over to some metal band, then listen to a pop song that has some nice playing and stuff.

  • @monsterhaur I especially love foreign percussion and stuff.

  • beautiful sounding kit for sure! definatley amazing drummer.

  • OMFG K custom cymbals.........BTW drumstick he used is 7A or other?it look thinner than 7A..

  • They're the K customs he designed. The hybrid series.

And his sticks are Akira Jimbo signatures. Natural finish and more like a 5A or 5B

  • you have to wonder if there's any element of improvisation in a solo like that.... I love it and all but 75 percent of his notes have to be precisely coordinated or the sequence will fail. Still a great drummer and performer obviously..... but I wonder if its improvised even a little.

  • 手さばきすげぇ・・・

  • Hey, where'd his 'stash go?

  • it might be a god trip for him to make music along with drum beat but i like aerobics of alien better or ciber city slicker, his drumming is great as susall but melodies in those previous videos are way mroe interesting than this...these are really plain and dont really add too much to the groove...

  • his style isnt my type but i admire the attitude he has towards playing. you can see the joy on his face. the happiness

  • the drumsolo is nice, but I think the sound of the e-drumpads don't fit.

  • this guy's insane. good drummer, but insane.

  • You my friend, are one fuck of a HOT MAN

  • it just never gets old

  • Amazing coordination

  • He has such incredible chops. That said, I can't get into his playing. I guess I just prefer a more musical approach. I'm more a groove guy.

  • Have you seen him perform with Casiopea? thats the band he's been playing with for over 30 years

  • You can imagine him spending up to 8 hours a day working on this stuff...

  • Maybe when he first started to incorporate electronics into his kit over 20 years ago but the Yamaha DTXtreme2s is so easy to use you can compose a song within a matter of 30 minutes to 2 hours plus Akira Jimbo's "fujiayama method" just makes the process easier.

  • tis is recently?

  • Yeah Sorta.... I think Wasabi and Fujiyam came out in 2003-2005

  • he is my god

  • LOL....did you see the clip when he played the Pirates of the Carribean theme?

    SICK!!!!

  • do u have the link?? show me
