In the full version, they talk about an RPG, but it was clearly a camera(2 of the men were reporters for Reuters), and the rifles, I only saw one when I examined the video, and out of 12-14 men, one rifle does not mean an insurgent group, especially when one man is obviously a reporter.

The way I see it, the deaths in the documents have already occured, releasing the documents isn't bringing anyone back, of course this doesn't mean they shouldn't be released, information needs to be free. But if evidence which will not save lives, jeopardises lives when released, it should be withheld. That's my issue with Wikileaks.

@JManHobbs You contradict yourself, its a war. There is no crime in death during war. Documents uncovering the lies the govenment feed you, they commit "crimes" by killing babies and entire villages. Them releasing it would be a sign for people to stop voting for war, but instead you insist that what they do is right. They shouldn't be alowed to kill children and get away with it, if you think that then you are not human. You're also only repeating what the media say about jeopardising lives.

@sod16 Erm...yes there is a crime in death during war, they're called war crimes. Bringing a war crimes case/court martial and publishing all the data online are two very different ways of tackling the problem of civilian deaths. I know which one I think is better and so do you, we obviously disagree.
Also, it is undeniable that the Wikileaks documents contain the names of informants. Publishing the names of informants puts their lives at risk. That's not just media regurgitation, it's a fact.

only thing I'm curious about is why there is footage of GW in the video and not Barry Obama. Wikileaks didn't happen until the current administration, so any government opposition to it would be liberal. Very impressed with the new stuff dan, your definitely on the ball, I find it extremely frustrating when discussing subjects such as this because the majority of the time it's met with people accusing you of being an idealist. Never quite understood it, shouldn't we all strive for the ideal? Just because it would take a lot and would change a lot doesn't mean it wouldn't work and can't happen. Whats to disagree with? If there wasnt a need for something like wikileaks to exist, then it wouldent. They have to be very careful how they tread though, more careful than they were with the afghan dox. I generally trust them on this though. Also who wants to live in a world where the only channels to work through are official ones. Whens the last time you actually got anything done through official channels ;)
