I made my first visit to the Redwood Valley Railway back in April for my Birthday and the #7 pulled our train. I loved it there, can't wait to come again soon.
One of the greatest places ever! I went there every weekend until I was about 8 years old. I'm 30 now and I will be taking my Son there once he turns 1yr old in July.
I love this video! Every year, I get at least 2 rides on the RVRY. I even got to go to the 55th Anniversary and it was awsome! Truly a great railroad.
Thank you sooo much! I really enjoyed this little film on the Tilden Park Steam Trains! I tell a story about a little character that gets into mischief whenever she can..and the steam trains is definitely on one of her best stops! LOL!
I have loved this train ride for years..it is still a great train to take on a sunny day in Tilden...come and visit!
I now live back east..but, I still think of Tilden park all the while! IT is one of my most favorite places to go, anytime!
vhilaire, do you know anyone that has an email address that works for Rizzoli Locomotive Works. i need to ask them an important question. and i cannot get anyone on the Rizzoli website.
Wow I need to go back out there and add more to what I shot. How did you get out there on the track and get those shots? Did they let you just walk out there or was it arranged?
I was shooting for the Oakland Tribune newspaper, so we were granted a little extra access, and Mr. Pimlott was kind enough to do several interviews with us. Vhilaire, the "poster" in this case, is actually the webmaster for the newspaper website.

Las Vegas now but this summer I will take my kids back to the Bay. Thanks.
