  • Fabricated my ass! The only one who's been fabricating is that paid off judge! Who the f..k can dispute the fact that these workers have an extremly high number of cancer, kidney failures and sterility? What we all can see is what big corporations can get away with. Especialy in the US of A!..

  • Dole are trying to cover up everything.

  • @edwardaggie98, the lawyer in this movie is facing charges for massive fraud involving falsifying work histories of alleged victims of Dole and coaching witnesses. It's good thing you had your research because that's the better thing to do than to easily jump into a conclusion out of one-sided video material =)

  • @yenoh544, speaking of doing one's own research, I remind you that the same corporation you are defending here has taken actions against the freedom of speech you seemed to interested to promote in your earlier post.

Of course, you chose to ignore that fact and my reply to you in your latest post. Once again, the easy way out. Figures.

  • Please don't get absorbed by one side only. If we're promoting free speech and justice here, let's maintain that by looking at both sides. What you have seen was a documentary about so-called victims of a large corporation, but we haven't been into these places really to get the information first hand. Just as Dole can be capable of manipulating things, cause-oriented groups can do what they can to forward their advocacies. Let's all be critical-minded always so we can maintain sound judgement.

  • "If we're promoting free speech and justice", you say, but you have a this large corporation doing anything it can to stop free speech. I mean, threatening to sue if a movie is shown?, That's free speech to you?

I think only ONE side here is promoting free speech, while the other is worried only about its own image (and obviously taking actions which ruin that very same image they are trying to maintain)

  • I just want to know more about this mass murder charge, since no one (except people on this board) is accusing Dole and Dow of murder. From everything I've seen, these lawsuits are about sterility, not death.

I'm sure there's plenty of skeletons in corporate closets -- I'm no apologist for big bad corporate America, but when you throw down "mass murder" without any support, I just want some backup.

  • I didn't accuse Dole of mass murder, but like I said, what I want to know is why you seem so eager to defend them?, I mean, you come here, check the replies, answer them, even before the murder comment... why?

I just find it highly unlikely that the common man will choose the side of a big multi-national corporation and not the side of the individual who got screwed by the corporation. Like you said, there are skeletons - Do you think Dole is innocent of that?

  • You didn't, @cloneofjoni, but @snilbognstsohg did. I was curious about that.

  • So you're just gonna ignore what I asked, @

    edwardaggie9. Nice. Easy way out.

  • Sorry, between being flamed for daring to have a minority opinion and being downrated for anything I say, I forgot you asked me a question.

I'm just fascinated by the story. I went to a film in LA about the pesticide lawsuits and did some research. There was a lot of noise around the movie, and the story's a lot more complicated than most people (especially here) seem to realise.

The point is, it seems like none of these individuals actually got "screwed by the corporation" as you say.

  • edwardaggie98, I'm a little confused here... are you saying that you went to see the "Bananas!*" movie in LA?, Is this the film you are talking about?

  • The heads of the Dole corporation need to be arrested for assisting Dow Chemicals in the act of mass murder and put in jail to rot for the rest of their days. Dole you have FAILED, you are FAILING now, and you will always FAIL.

  • Um, mass murder of who, exactly?

  • edwardaggie98, for someone who isn't on Dole's payroll you seem to be quite passionate about defending a multi-national corporation. What's your story?

  • Yeah, imagine a multi-national corporation commiting crimes against

3rd world workers... that stuff does not happen... must be a conspiracy against Dole... whatever, these corporations have been running roughshod over central and south america for a hundred years... it's time they get the message "if you can't do it in the US you can't do it anywhere".

  • Comment removed

  • "Corporation, n. An ingenious device for obtaining individual profit without individual responsibility."

    - Ambrose Bierce

  • @HasrataH I'm just wondering if you're posting similar comments for people who upload videos of their cats playing the piano. Can't have them wasting precious bandwidth, either, now, can we?

Also, if YouTube is a medium of free speech then, er, everyone can use it to say what they want. Even Dole.

I wish I were on their payroll. Might be some security in this economy

  • No, I don't go posting those comments to individual people. There's a difference between an individual and a mega corporation.

I'm not complaining about Dole's using Youtube - not at all. They have their right, and you don't hear anyone asking Youtube to remove this video, right?, So why are Dole using pressure to ban a documentary form being shown?, To prevent people like you and me from seeing it?, Can't we judge for ourselves?, Who the hell they think they are to make decisions for us?

  • As if poor poor company Dole didn't have their possibilities to get their messages out otherwise.

If you really want to play the crusader of free speech, first take a look on the actions of Dole, before you play your little semantic games. Dole is the one trying to forbid a film.

  • Actually, edward, I'm brushing a rather short horse. Not all of us are lucky enough to be on DOLE's payroll.

Actually what I'm doing is laughing at the irony of it all: DOLE posts on Youtube - a medium of free speech - a video made by the same people who want to limit free speech by prohibiting a movie from being shown to an audience.

Now excuse me, I need to go brush my little turtle.

  • People in Iran are using YouTube to post videos of their fight for freedom and Dole has nothing better to do than use precious bandwidth to upload this crap?, Shame on you. BOYCOTT DOLE!

  • GO BANANAS!*

  • The message is really unclear. What were you trying to say?
