No air conditioning so it can be very warm in the Summer months. If you are married to the A/C then there are fewer options on Tulum beach where they produce their own electricity.
@burrsutter We are staying at Tita Tulum. Very nice room and helpful staff. Didn't need A/C as the fan is enough in November. The water in all the taps (sink and shower) is saltwater, as I had read about the cabanas in Tulum.
Took the Sian Ka'an reserve boat tour, mainly for the birdwatching which was pretty good. Even saw a crocodile. However, it was the most expensive tour we took while in the Yucatan, at $78 each.

@dac10012 The shower is freshwater. I would stay at Tita Tulum again.
