Thanks so very much...somehow I got a cold from too much air-kissing at PULSE & SCOPE and I was too sick to go to ARMORY or anything else on Sat & Sun...If it weren't for your fine videos I would have missed it all. BUT....I knew you would do a great job, as usual, on your videos. Totally grateful, snif ....more, more, more!
Weird. I posted a comment earlier and it didn't show up here. I said THANK YOU for doing this vid. I had never heard of El Anatsui. I think that piece is breathtaking. I could do without the cereal. Oh well. To each his own. Thanks Mr. Kalm!
I like the song but not with serious art, it feels like I'm about to see a horse race, I would say keep the music soft and low, I like your reporting and I want to keep watching...
Interesting and some work is quite nice, but those acrylic organs on FOIL wrapped boards? Presentation is everything. Love all the NYr's black garments. Tres chic, they have a slimming effect.
All those collection pieces were so lame. Am I supposed to care why these two walls and this very boring robot-looking thing are made of VCR tapes? And the bottle cap sculpture just looked like an aimless, confused ripple with very bland coloring
This is where Americans go to cheat on NY State Sales Tax. And Europeans go here to launder money...Such a fun group.

James,
Again thanks. Great video.
Did you happen to catch the name of the artist who created the photos from Regina Gallery (starting at 7:15 on the video)?

mr kalm...did you see a lot of contemporary work on the 'modern' pier or was it all older stuff?
MrWowforever 3 years ago
There was contemporary stuff in the Modern section, Cecely Brown, Kieffer, Lupertz.

The "foil wrapped boards" were cast polished aluminum, worked to look like foil, very tricky stuff.

Indeed.

your use of music is really annoying.

what era is meta drawing that you refer to?
monkcycle 3 years ago
This era. I've been cronicalling the trend in and around Williamsburg for past last five years.
