  • Indoor is better :)

  • playing on turf is lot easier trust me guys

i have played on both grounds

  • LOL.. playing in turf is lot tuff dan playing in grass.. just ask the coaches n the players dey know. Running on turf is lot tuffer dan on grass.

  • @MrAkshaydubey Writing in english is also very tough for you I guess?

  • Este deporte da dolor de espalda de sólo verlo.

  • @sotfballx04 for ur knowledge, the turf killed the real skill in hockey n gave rise to power play. In pre-turf era, it was magic of players like Dhyanchand that mesmerized fans. But alas, for lot of the guys have not seen these moments.

  • they do realize that turf is a whole lot easyer to play on so really if it was real grass the wouldnt be as good

  • @hockeyhuntingriding yeah um... not quite. explain why this is gay...

  • love iit!♥ I live Hokeyy :D

  • BEFORE you knuckle heads who think Field Hockey is stupid, and requires no skill, and that lacrosse and ice hockey is better, is frigging WRONG. You have to be able to control the stick, switching the hook left to right and this way and that. Your feet NEVER stop moving in field hockey. Try it sometime. And when you do, I'll be sure to slap you with a hockey puck.

  • @oliunited6 The fact is it's not and this "sport" is.

  • @oliunited6 That British soldier story is also a lie

  • @oliunited6 It is the best sport amd no one even knows your gay sport exists. Don't steal names of popular sports.

  • @oliunited6 It's not original it just stole the name of the best sport. Real Hockey goes back to 1870 and "field hockey" wasn't even invented until the 1900,s. The NHL was formed in 1917. This is a fag sport.

  • Field Hockey = People who are too scared to learn how to play lacrosse.

Learn how to play some lacrosse, then come talk to me.

  • @9714061234567 what exactly is lacrosse? is it a very popular sport? in which countries is it played? is there a world championship or world cup of lacrosse? who is the current world champion? hmm.... just wondering

  • damn, need to train a lil bit more i think

  • When I watch this vid, I seriously want to play it :D

  • why are the sticks so short???

  • 2:03 that's the strongest sweep I've ever seen!

  • well.. i dont know about is this hockey or just football with smaller ball and sticks

  • LOL the camera man was lost at the end xD

  • who's that number 9 from pakistan ? he got an amazing indian dribble

  • alot of the skills professional players use today are simple but require mass amounts of speeds to make them work properly for example dragging the ball out wide on your front stick and running past someone is all it could take but it requires alot of speed.

  • 0:35 what a tackle

  • damn there skills are much higher than in The Netherlands.

But they are awful in tactics and corners.

  • these guys must end up with horrible back pains lol

  • and where is the trick most of that u learn in the first 5 lessons O.o

  • @SebastianPaltzer No way in hell you can do that against professional hockey players after 5 lessons.

  • Field Hockey is one great sport!

  • The guy dribbling from 0:40 to 0:52 is Dhanraj Pillay , Indian Hockey Legend and one of the greatest players produced by India in the Modern Era

  • 0:40 to 0:51, the guy in blue is mental. he takes on 5 green players and runs around them, passed the ball to his player and they score...

    awesome!

  • amazing. compare to this im so bad and ive joined up for my university team,i can barley make a pass lol

  • I hope the Indian and Pakistani hockey teams can regain their old stature. Their stick work is beautiful and elegant.

  • Woah i learned a lot from that.

  • It's true field hockey is for ppl with no skill

Any1 can do that REAL hockey is ice hockey

B4 watching this I used to think street hockey was gay....

  • @exsashank2 this is just a shit vid

  • @exsashank2 R U CRAZY??? nd y do u "YOU " HAVE TO SAY NETHING ABT FIELD HOCKEY????HAVE YOU EVEN SEEN THE GAME IN REAL?? Y DONT U BE HAPPY WID ICE HOCKEY AND STOP COMMENTIN ON STUFF U REELI DONT KNW ABT. YOU DONT HAVE 2 CALL FIELD HOCKEY GAY...I MEAN SUM1 HU THINKS FIELD HOCKEY IS GAY (wich reeli is horrifien) IS GAY ENUF!

  • lol this is all pretty basic even i can do this (doesnt say its not effective)

love how defenders are helpless when you do something like that (i play for like 7 years so i know how to do this :D)

  • Lol look how the last one flashed the camera,,

  • This isn't the most basic hockey but it's pretty standard as far as one on one skill goes... Nothing really special

  • You consider that skill? They kind of get past one guy and then lose the ball. I read that field hockey takes more skill than ice hockey, so far, I'm thoroughly disappointed. Ice hockey players do moves far better than these at ten times the speed, in a game that actually allows some form of contact.

  • @IAMCANADIAN1998 if all ur doing is watching a video on youtube and never even played it b4, u dont rly get an input in this. and of cause ur going to be quicker in ice hockey cause u travel faster and the ball just glides. and just cause it allows contact that doesn't make it any more skillful.

  • Comment removed

  • @IAMCANADIAN1998 I've never played Ice hockey but also I assume you've never played hockey. You can't merit a sport on how much it hurts or the amount of contact there is, if that's the case, why is football (soccer) so popular. By your logic it should be cage fighting, or something like that. Field Hockey takes a great amount of skill as does Ice hockey I can imagine.

  • @gza123456789 Just how anybody can hit a ball with a stick.

There is more to soccer and hockey than just that, and they are both difficult sports.

  • mosdef

  • @solidcrab16 if u dont kno field hockey came first

  • their footwork is amazing! the feet never stop moving!

  • india and pakistan have best skills they can be a top but they donth have much supporters

  • @cheema5192 I think the amount of supporters doesn't make you a top hockeyland. It's the amount of games you win.

  • @solidcrab16 I hope you now that field hockey exist before ice hockey.

  • The most best sport ever and the only one whitch need alot of skill

  • hi guys, ive got adidas tt10 black and gold for sale, also got grays hockeys for sale. anybody interested. get in touch. umar183@hotmail.com

  • @funnyithink the defenders don't do a full fledge tackle because that result in a free hit. What they are doing is chanelling them out to the side line in hope that they will make a mistake themselves or run out of passing options. Field hockey is as much a thinking sport as a physical one.

  • Looks like these guys have back ache problems? why not make the stick longer?

  • @nigling in order to control the ball you have to get low, no matter the length of the stick

  • isn't this a girls sport!

  • @choascityteam no!!!

  • @himer3 no i think it is...........

  • @choascityteam Hope u think so u will die

  • 0:40 - 0:52 THE BEST ONE

  • People hate on ice hockey cause they wouldn't dare play it for the fear of losing their head, it's the exact same fucking sport, except with another element, called hitting, and is essential to stop people from blowing past you, so no, their not trying to touch their ass, their trying to stop the other team from getting anywhere and if you dont keep your head up then you're getting dropped.

  • @kcougar12 No kidding (i play street goalie but i get what your saying) Just from watching in goal you can see just how hard they try and at what lengths the guys will go to to stop everyone from getting to me. lol i didn't see any attempted defense its like the player gets near defense and they drop the stick! wtf stop him at least try to poke it away or somthing.

  • @okee7 it takes a lot of skill i myself play field hockey first you need coordination u need to look up when u dribble im 10 and can

  • all that is required in this game is mind, flexibility and most important character...we will surely get india on top again...wait n watch....

  • the funny thing is, it seems every individual skill lead nowhere. they got stopped almost every time after they skilled a player. teamwork works better

  • must be hard on the back

  • @naztyvids

You are nothing more than a moron.

  • Comment removed

  • wich sport you like then?

  • The Indian and Pakistani players have brilliant stickwork and dribbling skills, but they lack on 'teamwork'. Do have a look @ 0:39 Dhanraj Pillay.

The German, Australians and the Dutch are better in that aspect and thus better teams.

  • Indian golden days got over long back after artificial turf was introduced ,......on grass ball moves slowly .but on turf it moves really fast ...u need power hockey to dominate on turf ...Europeans r good at it .....stamina speed endurance wise

  • Comment removed

  • ice and street hockey is better

  • i played ice, street and field hockey and trust me field hockey is the best, and rightly the most popular form of hockey in the world.

  • @randominitializer There is only one hockey. This is gay.

  • Comment removed

  • Hockey is my favourite sport. A very skillfull sport....

  • god, this is a beautiful sport.

  • @fieldhockeyj10 2:42 is an example of an international standard player using one hand outstretched and speed to beat a player

  • i love hockey, its a fast game involving skill power and speed... good stuff... 5*

  • INDIA PWN!

  • FIELD HOCKEY BOYS ARE THE SEXIEST

  • MsPumpa, I think I should start playing field hockey again;)

  • As a kid i did not enjoy the sport, when i started playing a stick hit me and i nearly lost one eye. But with all the Indian pride, i say that it was a HOCKEY that made my eye squint. ;-)

I enjoy every bit of International Hockey and have been an ardent fan since high school days. Remember the Game when we could have qualified for olympic semis in 2000 when poland scored a late goal and drew that game. Still remember Jude Menezes, the Indian Goalkeeper who sat crying in the rain.

  • Hi Virtuoswins,

I was in Sydney watching that game, It was traumatic experience for me.

    Arvind

  • I understand Mr Arvind

I am sure that a lot of other Indians felt the same too.

    So near yet so far..

  • The Indian Legacy is the greatest in hockey. Not because i am Indian but because it is True, just like what Basketball is to US and Cricket was to West Indies.Mohammed Shahid was a fine dribbler.

Cannot help thinking of Jugraj Singh, the biggest progidy of the the recent times whose playing prowess we lost to an accident and Gagan Ajit Singh, whom i think was lost to politics.

  • an awnser to freek0001 indeed the Womans would win from Germany thats clear but it for the men it depends on wich team the Netherlands are playing with, because of there current coach they suck monkey balls and there are some injured players like Ronald Brouwer imo with the "old" team ( so without all the young players ) I really think that the Netherlands would win from Germany but indeed with their current team they would lose.

  • shit=(

  • Guys, to make this clear:

    Olymics: Holland vs. Germany:

    Woman: Holland wins

    Male: Germany wins.

You should rather base your opinions on real information...

  • I love field hockey. and if you don't, nobody really cares.

    Haha yay Inako!(inside joke)

  • Field hockey fucking rules!

  • Como se llama el nro 9 que hace las primeras jugadas???

    para que seleccion juega?

  • Comment removed

  • el nro 9 es dhanraj pillay de india. Gracias de opurtunidad para contestar su pregunta.

  • u asshole I bet u dont even know about the sport

  • That's really good to watch. Pity there's no sound though

  • Holland FTW even i know that..

  • pillay is good!

  • theres no skill in ice hockey you a dumbass on skates ramming into each other trying to feel there ass

  • Are you jokingo r just like ... an idiot?

  • have you even played it? it is incredibly competitive and there is extreme skill when playin because along with soccer it is a true team sport. True, North Americans are more physcial than Europeans, but the reason why it looks like what your faggot mind thinks it does is because they use their bodies to protect the puck to keep possession of it.

  • haha shut up ,, you dont know Hockey CANADA IS THE BEST IN HOCKEY

  • HELLS FUCKING YA! but this is field hockey, ice hockey we fucking RULE EVERYONE!!!!! Since it's field hockey I have no idea. GOLD 2010!

  • india the best there better than alll those suckers

  • the netherlands are the best in hockey.

  • Australia are the best. Have been forever!

  • Germans are the best as you can see at the great tornaments!

  • malaysia hockey players are outstanding too.. agree??

  • amazing, i wish i was that good!!!

  • Ixkilled.... you cant do two handed !!! WTH :L

  • dribbeling is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS with 2hands if you do it right idiot when you use 1 hand you don't have much control

  • @hoihoi423 if your really good like this guy, you can dribble with 1 hand...

  • @hoihoi423 its really not, if your running you can easily carry the ball with your left hand and shield off the player with your right

  • @hoihoi423 you have longer stretch with one hand... i do it all the time... it can be used effectively in conjunction with speed to get around an opposing player without really having to challenge them much

  • @hoihoi423 that's bull man. and i'm an international U21 player.

  • @hoihoi423 mat uses one hand regulary and he's one of the best

  • I envy them so much. Turf!! We have to play on un-trimmed grass with pot holes everywhere. You try and take the ball up and it bounces up and hits you in the face if you try to go fast. It enhances the game so much if you are on a flat surface. Although I don't miss falling over on turf. Smurfed a little. The skill of the one handed dribbling is what I hope to master. I am so slow when I do two handed.

  • India and Pakistan hockey players are so talented with their stick work.... truly outstanding.

  • Yeah, but skill matters little; no wonder both these teams are not amongst the top six teams. The player with the best dribbling skills I saw was Shahid who captained India during the 80's. The guy made defenders look silly as he dodged & weaved past them. I recollect a match against South Korea in the 88' Olympics in which he ran circles around four defenders with their silky hair falling back & sideways (law of inertia) as they had to suddenly stop-go in attempt to stop him from scoring.
