I was listening to the finger tapping bit and its sad that you were playing something epic on the bass but you couldn't hear it.. other than that pretty darn amazing.
I've been listening to your songs since a while (even if they are only 3), and i am always like "wow dude". Really hope you'll manage to do something big. Waiting for the EP! (sorry for the english)
I get a bitter sweet feeling listening to your music. Part of me says... "Wow.... I should really get an autograph from this dude before he gets famous." and part of me says "Damn... he's better than me." lmao
wow, you are incredibly talented. this stuff sounds fantastic. I just got into progressive instrumental metal not too long ago and i love it. id really like to talk sometime on facebook or whatever to see how you come up with your music ideas because im actually starting to try and write music myself so if its no trouble then hit me up. Again, great job on this, sounds great.
Quick question, when you write progressive music do you just play around with parts that just sound off and cool? I don't mean this in an offensive way whatsoever, I'm just asking simply because I'm interested in writing/composing it as well. Or if not, do you just choose an odd time signature and say I'm going to play 5/4 here or I'm going to play 7/8 or 9/8? Basically, I'm just curious if this is all natural to you or if you have trained yourself to play in odd times and where to start writing
@skimam I started playing about eight years ago or so, I guess. I took lessons for a little while early on. I don't play music at all in school. You can learn everything I know just from tutorials online for sure. Basic scales/modes and some simple techniques (sweeping, tapping, arepeggiating). Hope that helps!
@MarksGuitarWhat I'd say very little. I don't know a whole lot of theory. I know some basic scales and only the very basics about harmonization, but that's about it. I mostly just go with what sounds right to me.
@TheDais19 I really wish I could collaborate with people because there are a lot great musicians out there, but I'm honestly just too busy to commit to something like that at the moment. Maybe sometime in the future. Right now, I barely have time to pick up my guitar and play!
you sir, make awesome music! im thinking myself of making a EP, but i kind of need help with which programs to use and how to make drums. you got any tips for me? :) keep it up, and im looking forward to see much more from you! (you just made a new fan ^^)
@stebbZv Awesome! Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you enjoyed my music. Check out the description for some tips. I use Guitar Pro 5 to write the drum parts out, and then I export the MIDI file and use Drumkit from Hell to get the semi-realistic sounds. There are probably tutorials that you can find that will explain this in more detail. Good luck!
Every time I listen to this I feel like my mind is on a journey .. bit creepy hah, but I really do... I am recording a demo with my band and I had to record the bass line as we don't have one yet, I AM AMAZED of your bass' skills..!
@biosguitar Thanks a lot man! That's awesome that my music moves you like that. I really appreciate you sharing your feedback with me. Good luck with your band!
Hey man your prog stuff is really cool. Tell me what you think of a new song I've just written with a friend of mine (no vocals yet, but if you listen you'll hear where the vocals are meant to fit in.)
@elc0n I don't read sheet music, so if I want to write down a guitar part, I use tabs. But to "write" a song doesn't literally require you to write down the song. If you can remember the riff and play it, there's not necessarily a need to physically write it down.
My friend, I just got floored by your stuff. incredibly well done... each part is epic, I want to start playing again, you've just inspired me... i'm surprised only a 5436 views, it should be a hell of a lot more!!! Again well done!!
This song is fantastic, very nice work. I just have some questions on how you recorded it... you recorded a clean guitar and then imported the file on guitar rig 4 for the tones? And how did you save the song in the demo version of guitar rig and wich presets did you use? I'm thinking about recording some of my songs, but i really don't know how i should do that... any help would be very appreciated!
@ProgDemon I used Guitar Rig as a VST in my digital audio workstation (which for me was Reaper). I didn't use the standalone Guitar Rig application. I recorded all clean guitar parts straight into my computer, and then I used the Guitar Rig VST in Reaper to get the different guitar tones. The demo version of GR lasts only a half hour and you can't save your own presets, but you can export whatever audio you want from the digital audio workstation within that half hour. Hope that helps
Man, you are getting better at composition with each tune. The layers of complexity and voice movement in this one are just amazing. Keep up the good work!

@DDball Thanks a lot! I really appreciate the kind feedback. Glad you enjoyed my sound. I hope to release another song in the first part of next year.
Dude this song is so awesome. It has everything!! Acoustic intro, clean guitar tapping, arpeggios, bass lines, etc. Great job on this song bro, can't wait for your EP to come out.
hey man, you're a skilled composer. i'd really appreciate it if you would listen to some of the midi files i've composed and think about possibly doing a collaboration. i used to be in a band called the zodiac complex. TZC played bamboozle 2 years in a row, but the band ended up breaking up. i've been composing a lot of music on my own, and i am trying to collaborate with musicians like you, to hopefully make some of the most progressive and expressive music out there.

@goncaloshred I'm not studying music in school or lessons or anything. I took lessons for a little while a few years ago. I don't know much theory at all either. I'd recommend you learn your basic scales and modes, and then practice some useful skills: arepeggiating, sweeps, tapping. Stick with it! Hope that helps. Thanks for your comment!

@KHurley1994 Wow, thanks for such kind words. I really appreciate the comment. It means a lot to me to hear such positive feedback and support!!! I plan to put out another song in the not-too-distant future! Stay tuned!
@july03ification There's not much to it actually! I use "Classic Metal Lead," a factory preset in Guitar Rig 3, for most of the guitar riffs in the song. Bass has no amp modeling or anything, just the straight sound. Thanks for your feedback!
Great song. I'm sure I said something similar to this last time, but you should take the time to research some better production techniques to do your songs a little more justice. For example, you can make drums from hell sound decent, but there are much better programs; Check out superior drummer. Also, the guitar tone could use some beefing. That whole deal.
@MindOfPagan Thanks a lot! I appreciate the detailed, constructive feedback. I agree that the production could be better. I think I might look into Superior for my next song. It's pricey, but people have gotten some awesome sounding mixes with it. So we'll see.
@BASBERT I see where you're coming from. I hope to upgrade to Superior 2.0 in the future. So we'll see if I can get that before I record my next song... Thanks for the comment

100 % beast and awesomeness!! i want ur presets ! :)

Keep it up!

@MindOfPagan Thanks a lot! I appreciate the detailed, constructive feedback. I agree that the production could be better. I think I might look into Superior for my next song. It's pricey, but people have gotten some awesome sounding mixes with it. So we'll see.

dude, Drumkit from hell sucks, this song deserves a better mix.

@BASBERT I see where you're coming from. I hope to upgrade to Superior 2.0 in the future. So we'll see if I can get that before I record my next song... Thanks for the comment
