That plastic pipe is creating a strong resonant condition. There are reflections because you don't (can't) have any acoustic lining. You could fill them with dacron stuffing and seal them but a tube isn't a desirable shape unless it's a transmission line. And I doubt if that driver reaches higher than 10Khz. If you want to make a good sounding cheap speaker with those drivers, mount them on an open back baffle. Just a plate on a base. They'll sound really open and transparent.

Looks unusual but sounds terrible. We will not hear the audio as you do anyway. What we hear is determined by the audio characteristics of whatever you are using to record the video and the quality of the speakers and soundcard on the computer of the person watching. I could only detect between 1KHz and 3KHz. It's mainly 3KHz so not a very wide audio bandwidth. No real treble or bass, it just sounds like a cheap pair of speakers being overdriven and generally making a noise. Never mind!

@dondonini Yes it needs one, maybe made from a large 3 or 4 inch diameter pipe on a big stand to match. I would definitely suggest a woofer and some crossovers in the design. Tweeters could be incorporated in the mid range design. Maybe he could read up on porting and enhance the sound a lot more. BOSE use really cheap speakers, it's the porting that makes them sound brilliant. It's a good start for experimenting with anyway.

speakers playing full range gives a speaker so much to do its unreal as a result they wil never sound any good and also this is not a sub and even playing full range through a sub sounds rubbish, to rehiliterate the speaker has to do to much.......try not to read so much fella and work things out for your self

@SMERGHEED - full range speakers can sound okay, in one word, Lowther! But they're an ancient extreme concept, far removed from today's usual speakers. I figured that folks like you wouldn't know what I was on about and draw the conclusions you did. One reason E.M.I. stopped mounting the tweeter co-axially was the advantage of 2-way for tweeter rigidity. If the speaker mount vibrates you lose the accuracy of sound made but 2-way and x-overs reduce the phase accuracy of Lowther point sources!

@SMERGHEED - you maybe didn't hear right, it's 'all ideal amplifiers under all ideal conditions sound the same.' Not your "all amplifiers sound the same." Thing is tho, the ideal square wave output suggests that all professional amplifiers would sound the same with all professional loudspeaker monitors - but some Hi-End domestic amplifiers don't have a square wave and sound just as good! As for silver RCA cable it boosts up the current so lifts up the treble and that may not suit all systems!

Not a believer in full range one driver only ANY SYSTEM, even in the high end world like cain & cain. LINESOURCE with multiple drivers is what audiophiles use or exotic designs like bending wave, the use of wave guides, walsh coherent line source, planar, horns, ribbons and of course electrostats. the use of crossovers or external crossovers in order to separate frequencies, EVEN on low budget ipod systems.

$169???? I just bought $80 new JBL Control Monitors on ebay for $80 along with a Dayton DTA-1 T-amp, and it is still cheaper. And will sound 100x better. Best of luck with the speaker sales though.
