Damn you, Red Rose Knights! *traipsing around Brannoch Castle* *3 RRK's attack at once* Me: Oh shit. Gotta get in before they use Evade! *RRK 1 and 2 use Evade* *RRK3 gets a bit too close* RRK3: LARGE CUTTER! *58 damage!!!* Me: WATER PILLAR 3!! Drown you bastards!! *Misses all 3* *All 3 Large Cutter me at once* Game over. Ragequit.
@piippiz Then the copy you have there is the European (PAL) release. I played through both localizations, but could find no significant or subtle difference beyond the titles themselves.
@GensaiK (History Fact): On a side note the War of the Roses was fought between the years of 1455 to 1485 between two houses of England, the house of York and Lancaster (later the house of Tudor). The symbol of York was a White Rose, and the symbol of Lancaster was a Red Rose. Just thought I'd share that with you.
Fabulous. The first game I bought for myself when I was a kid. This song was my favorite, really takes me back.. Thanks a ton for providing that for all of us.
@EurydiceGrey same here!...this song!...i remember when i played this game i was 13 and my first girlfriend came every noon at my place to play it with me!....thats why this song bring me back memories from her (e.e)U
Yeah, this is easily one of the best tracks in the game. And if it came from a more popular title, it might even had a shot at a classic gaming track.
Worth the play or the soundtrack JUST to get to the point where you encounter this song.
Definitely my favorite theme from this game. I always loved how the sky looked so dreary and bleak until you saw the horizon which was that lime-yellow color.
The trick was to save before entering to the magic book. So if you died inside the twisted dream world, you would go back to the castle, instead the world of mammon.
I'm sorry to say that if you are already inside and you saved...u can't go back
In this town, there is someone who says "A lady and a wicked spirit visited the king..." ominously. Any speculations on who the lady and wicked spirit might be?
I had to quit on the game, I was almost done. After I beat that weird mage guy in the castle then it takes you to some weird land... and I was too low of a level to kill them so I tried going back but.. it wouldn't let me go i got fucked xD
hmm terms i never came across before, but the point was to use water for healing and just ONE other. course, when i was a kid i raised them all up evenly because the game said "if one force should become stronger or weaker than the other" something something yadda yadda. it was hard as hell, but i actually beat the game with about... 36 or 37 in everything... turns out if ya play like that your melee attack pwns more than your magic XD
If you really want a challenge, try playing it relying on your staff, and not using magic (except to heal, of course). It's tough to get past the bosses, but once you get past them, you realize that you're one-hit KOing everything. Incidentally, My prefered combination is Earth and Water. Magic Barrier has got to be the most unfair move in all of existence.
i completly agree on the magic barrier part, but most guides say its hard to beat the game with that combo, and after trying it, well at least its hard to start....
Hard to start, yes. But I find that once you get to the point where you get avalanche, it does an absolutely ridiculous amount of damage (usually) for the mp needed. Bosses just fall over, your average monster drops after 1 or 2 hits, and you can hit Mammon a good 10 times easily; my record is closer to 20. Just level up Water to the point where you get healing, the focus on Earth. A side effect of low healing, and thus using it a lot, gives you lots of mp.
@solar464 Yeah I've always started the game with Water and Wind levelled up to 15 so I get decent healing power and decent attacks to nail the first boss but after that I work on Earth and Water only (or at least until one is maxed out ;D)
LIKE THOSE GOD DAMN WYVERNS! FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU---
Ok rage over, time for semi-sane discourse!
The nights were easy if you were lucky enough to start the fight far away from those cool-as-fucking-beans jerks, because if they are far away they just buff themselves, which is just fine to me.
RAGE TIME BACK--
WYVERNS! THEY COME OUT FUCKING NOWHERE AND FOOL YA WITH FIREBALL THEN INSTA-EXTRA-CRISPY YOUR ASS WHEN YOU THINK YOU CAN STAFF 'EM!
Thank You! I played this game when I was 12 and loved this music. I remember I was sad that I couldn't get back here after the end. It's very nostalgic to hear it again.
Ok I remember now! Sorry for all the comments! The name you typed confused me! This is the Baragoon Moor! I also forgot cause I was in a rush to beat the game! I beat this game my first time after 11 years! Not cause it's hard or anything! The first time my game got deleted and i got mad and never played again!
OMG DUDE THANKS ALOT! I knew I heard that name somewhere! I love Lufia! I might just try and find it now on Ebay! You and that other guy isn't the only ones who likes Lufia!
This is also the theme in Brannoch. The only truly memorable theme in the game, and I love the game, so I'm not being insulting, just saying over half the music is pretty forgettable.
However i stopped playing videos because of my addiction to world of warcraft ROFL

The Rose Knights were an easter egg. Red Rose and White Rose. Medieval England had a "War of the Roses" of those same colors.
Agent1W 11 months ago
@Agent1W Interesting. Things like these went unnoticed back then. (I was much younger)
GensaiK 11 months ago
@GensaiK The Rose Knights looked awesome with their full plate armor, capes, and rose-blazoned shields. The best monsters in the game, methinks.

@Agent1W Haha, I totally missed this as a kid, too. Awesome.

@Kyshioku But I doubt that they had their full plate armor colored the same way. Metallic white and metallic red would look awesome in real life!

I wish somebody would make a remix of this song or something...
You know; show it some appreciation... Afterall; as far as condemned towns go. This song is by far, the best theme for them.
Eery; sad; faithless; and empty...
Heck, I remember, even the soldiers said they knew they were pretty much gonna die; fighting against Beigis' rose knights and sorcerors...
(And let's not forget that midboss, Guilty. x___x)

The whole game kind of seemed like you were coming to Beigis' Castle to liberate his people from his reign and not so much find your dad.
