This is the best moisturizing and sealing video I have seen so far!!! The instructions are so simple and to the point. I saw this a few months ago but I forgot to subscribe and I forgot your name. I love the Fantasia IC leave in moisturizer. It is very light and doesn't weigh my hair down at all. Also, I love using the Nutiva EVCO as well. It has strengthened and improved my hair so much since using it 3 months ago. Thank you for sharing your tips!!!
This is a great video! I already do similar hair prep for bed, but I always like to look at other videos to see how other ladies do theirs and see what products they are using! Be blessed...
@Nosaltypeanut - This is a pretty old video so she may not see your comment. If you will, maybe I can help with that since most of us are liquifying it in similar ways. You see the applicator bottle she has? If you got another plastic bowl, microwaved some water in it (no more than say 1:20 min) and then put that applicator bottle in the container of water, the coconut oil will melt. What you DO NOT want to do is put the actual app bottle in the microware, This could burn you.
how can hair look that healthy, full and amazing, i mean, that's the kinda hair i see the girls with on the relaxer bottles!! i absolutely love your hair and I hope through watching your vids i can get my hair to the same level of healthiness :)))
THAT THE LENGHT IM HOPING TO GET MY HAIR.....BECUASE I JUST GOT MY HAIR CUT LAST WENSEDAY BECAUSE OF MY SPLIT ENDS AND MY HAIR WAS LONG BUT NOT HEALTHY MY HAIR IS NATURAL IM A VIRGIN W/MY HAIR NEVER HAD A RELAXER AND I REALLY WANT MY OLD LENGHT BACK WICH WAS BRA STRAP LENGHT BUT BEFOR SCHOOL STARTS I WANT IT ATLEAST THAT LENGHT
Hello Ms Pruitt how long have you been on your journey!!!!! And how many times do you use relaxer's and how do you maintain your new growth!!!!! Please Respond It would Be greatly Appreciated!!!!!!!
I Love your videos, your so pretty and speak well, you have inspired me to do barid outs all summer, and keep the heat put, can you tell how often you co wash, and how often you clarify wash thank, and God bless!!
YOur hair is beautiful. My hair is long and thick, and i have to moisturize with serum and hair and scalp stuff or it will get dry, but it makes my hair feel weighed down. Do you think the Fantasia might help, so my hair will be silky, light, and flowy like yours?
OMG, I just came across this video and I have that moisturizer just sitting in my hair draw, because I have NO CLUE how to use it, now I do!!! The other day I was going through my hair supplies and I was soooo close to throwing it out but, I was like let me hold on to it. Now, I'm going to use it because you use it. :-)
Just a little constructive criticism: I love your videos and you've taught me a lot. Your hair is absolutely gorgeous. However, sometimes you spend a long time just rubbing and distributing product through your hair and I wish you would speed the video up on those parts. The whole video would be so much shorter and just as powerful.
Is Castor oil as good as coconut or better? I was thinking of using coconut as a deep conditioner and a castor oil as a leave in. I have not trimmed my hair yet and some of my ends are split but i was thinking of doing this to my ends as well until my next relaxer because im going to get a trim then.
@victoriaelle7 I think it stands for Organic Root Stimulator Relaxer, it's usually Olive Oil. I remember seeing it somewhere else. Hope someone else can help
I just want to say THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for introducing me to the Fantasia IC Moisturizer!!! I wear feathered (or dry) wraps ALOT and refused to moisturize my hair cuz most moisturizers are heavy and weigh my hair down. I've only used it for about a month now and my hair is the longest and HEALTHIEST its been in YEARS!!! I literally get compliments on my hair EVERYDAY now!! Ppl who I haven't seen in a while think I have a weave...I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!
@Que79 Does the Fantasia IC Moisturizer weigh you hair down at all? I also wear a lot of wraps. I am moisturizing with HE long term relationship split in protector and neutrogena triple moisture cream. Although great products they leave my hair wet and weighed by the end of the week.
I am so happy I found your videos! I am a cosmetologist and I am always looking for ways to improve ways to keep my own hair and others hair healthy. I will be starting a hair journey to grow it longer! Thanks for the great vids!
I love your videos ! You give so much info ..... I'm trying to take my hair on a healthy journey as well. I havnt had a perm in about a year and I was getting a little frustrated with what to do with my hair. I also jus had my daughter 3 months ago so I have that new hair as well thank you for the inspiration
PLEASE could you just e-mail me a list of DOs & Don't DOs (or at least of what YoU did/do) to get your hair that long??? Like a simple EVERYTHING Run-down. If you say yes, I'll give my email address.
Beautiful! One of my friends is a professional hairdresser, and she does my hair. I used to do a great job on my hair, but I needed some motivation to get my mojo back to do my hair on my own sometimes! Niiiice!
Your hair is uber healthy looking, my question would you say it was the coconut oil you used to seal it with that made it look stronger? if so what brand of coconut oil would you recommend?
FaBULOUS HAIR!! 2 questions ... 1) how do you get your coconut oil to stay liquid (mine is solid till you touch it) 2) what brush was that you used? I'm tryna replace my brush. Thank you in advance!
@hottpink88 Thank you! With warmer weather it turns into a liquid form...when solid I usually run it under hot water to melt it. I got that brush from Sally's...the brand name is "Brush Strokes" boar bristle brush $6.99
Great video! I find when I wrap my hair (when I wear my hair down with a part in the middle like you did in the video), the side that's going in the direction tends to lay weird when I unwrap it. Did that make sense? If it does, any advice on making sure that doesn't happen?
Hey! What do you recommend: holding out on relaxing your hair and just using a straightener, or relaxing your hair more often to avoid putting heat on your hair? And do you have any straightener recommendations?
What do you think of Moroccan oil? I use that since I cannot readily get my hands on coconut oil.
I just want to say, after watching your video, I started doing your regiment pretty much every night and I've found that my hair looks smoother and it doesn't look very oily or greasy or heavy like I've seen on other people. Thank you for your tips!
@michikodesu Ur welcome girl! If you have 100% pure moroccan oil then thats fine but if it has other ingredients in it "cones", then I would suggest using EVOO or Jojoba as a sealant. FYI...GNC sell EVCO & The Vitamin Shoppe.
@IMDATHICKAZZMOMA...Girl I love coconut oil, I will never part from it! I don't do protein treatments like most ladies, coconut keeps my hair feeling strong and soft. I still seal with it, Prepoo/DC and whip it in my shea butter...no problems, only success!
Since watching your videos i finally have decided to give the EVCO a try for DC and to seal my hair. Since you are using coconut oil to seal your hair everyday does anyone tell you that you smell like coconuts?
Maybe this is a silly question but where is everyone putting there camera at in the bathroom? LOL The light in my bathroom is good for doing a video but I have no place to put a camera. At First I thought people were using their laptop but I see you mentioned a camera. Thanks in advance
huh! that is the quickest wrap i have ever seen! i must try to wrap - so clumsy with my hair - just cant wrap - yet!
thats a big scarf ! you get that in the usual stores - what brand is that? I wish your mum would trim my hair - just cant trust these hairdressers they take too much off... so my ends are all ragerty now!
I just got the IC moisturizer today and It is like water but it seems to do the jobe and I seal ith Jojoba oil. I was using shea butter and but my hair is thin so its is better with the IC and jojoba.
will your mom trim my hair too?? lol why is it hairdressers always wanna take off 2 or 3 inches?? It'll be 3 months next week since my last relaxer & i'm already drained just cause there are soooo many products out there & i'm just a little overwhelmed trying to find products that work well for my hair. I was deep conditioning with the olive oil line but it always leaves my hair feelin heavy so i may try the coconut oil. Your hair is BEAUTIFUL
Your hair is so pretty and thick. Quick question do you have videos on Hairlista Inc. I saw a coconut oil video as a deep condition and you look like the girl. Sorry if this question may seem silly. Thanks for the video.
I called Sally's Customer Service to verify and they said it's definitely not being discontinued, and they're trying to get the manufacture to make more. She stated, it's a very popular product and it has been on back order for the past month.....fingers crossed they will get some soon, cause I only have 1 bottle left!
I asked about it, I was told it was simply not in stock. I think it's a conspiracy since they now realize its selling like hot cakes. Watch out there now, they may jack the price or, worse change the formulation. They were told to "direct" me to the proclaim moisturizer. I saw it was full of petroleum, mineral oil. NOPE, uh un. We have had to go to surrounding cities. Mostly Caucasian, and snag theirs. It is a pestering thing to happen 2 somthin u know works. Glad u noticed 2
Thanks for the video. Have you noticed a shortage of Silken Child lately?
The hydration element is important sis. Thanks for saying that. There is a misconception that coconut oil, and Shea, and avocado oil, can moisturize. The only way to get moisture is water. Or aloe......
So this is my second time reaching 7 months without a relaxer, with hopes of going natural, but transitioning sucks!!! and I'm not bold enough to do the BC...so lol I'm my hair appt for a relaxer is tomorrow. YOU have encouraged me to go back...And I am one to wear my hair down...I'm not a fan of protective hairstyles, I like the look of length...
Thank you, I got that brush from Sally's it's called "Wooden Boar Bristle Oval Cushion Brush by Brush Strokes" $6.99, this is a firm but gentle brush....I love it ~ HTH!
@ninapruitt - Thanks for the info. I'm going to order the brush from the website.
I updated my nightly regimen. I've been applying the IC Aloe Leave-In Moisturizer to my ends followed by IC Pure Tea Instant Oil Moisturizer. I love the results ;) I'm purchasing the Nutiva Organic EV Coconut Oil and the applicator bottle(s) today. I will begin using the coconut oil after my next wash. Your overall regimen (day and night) is on point!
Hey Nina - Great vids! Can you do a video on some updo styles that you wear? I don't like bunning either because of the tension on the hair and because I'm double processed (color treated and relaxed) I notice breakage where the ponytail is placed. Thanks!
Nina, since you don't do alot of protective styles, how do you keeps your ends so protected? I notice that when I wear my hair down, it will catch on my clothing. Also, with it getting colder how do you protect you hair during winter months and still retain length?
I protect my ends by Dcing weekly and Moisturizing & sealing daily, also I be very gentle with handling my hair. when I do wear my hair up I use jumbo bear claw clips, I like using these because they dont cause tention on the hair/edges. bunning
Gorgeous hair!!!! I haven't offically began my hair care journey yet, but i am so excited to get started so that i can try some of ur styling methods! Love ur videos and ur hair is amazingly BEAUTIFUL!!....Keep up the good work!
Have you ever tried grapeseed oil as a sealant? I've heard this oil is very light and doesn't weigh the hair down. I've tried the coconut oil on my hair before but it is way too heavy. I am trying to get a lighter oil because I have thin hair.
Yes.........I have grapeseed oil, but the benefits of EVCO is so much greater, a little EVCO goes a long way, try using less and see if you get the same results. Also make sure you are Clarifying your hair once a month with a clarifying shampoo to remove build up from the hair & scalp.
I have been looking for this fantasia ic leave in moisturizer that you are using on your hair, but i can't seem to find it anywhere. a lot of people are telling me how good this product is.
Most definitely.......as long as you use a Ceramic plated (not ceramic coated) flat iron on medium heat with a max of 1-2 passes. Also I always deep condition B4 straightening my hair and I mosturizing & seal nightly. If protective styling is working for you, please don't change your regimen ~ HHJ!
Your at 12 wks post relaxer and your hair looks fabulous. With the right products you will see your hair can go longer without the chemicals. I use to use the Fantasia ic back in the day, thinking about checking it out again.
Thanks Kelly, I know I can stretch longer.......but detangling after air drying is a pain, maybe I will just rock braidouts and skip the whole air drying & detangling!
I know how you feel, detangling gets harder with each wk but with patience it gets easier.Braidouts and bantu knots became a staple for me when stretching. Don't worry your hair and scalp are going to repay you for stretching. after my stretch I notice my hair is alot stronger and resiliant.
how often do u straighten ur hair? ur stretching is coming along really well. and i love coconut oil we hav ethe same brand and i just love it for my hair. i just cant stomach drinking a spoon every morning
Your hair is so beautiful!!! I love the ic Fantasia but I only use it as a leavin... Next time I'll moisturize with it. Do you do this everynight even after a relaxer?
Hi...your hair looks great as always. What brand of coconut are you using? I would like to buy some from Amazon, but there's a variety to choose from.
I cannot believe you are 12 weeks post! Your hair is beautiful! I'm eight weeks post and I swear combing is getting harder and harder. I have alot of new growth.
fantasia ic moisturizer rocks!

My hair is naturally long. I have started making videos showing me going natural after 13 years of getting relaxers.
LolizNetwork 2 years ago
Has your hair always been this long or is it the products that are promoting your hair growth??
xSparkaldivax 2 years ago
Your hair is so pretty and thick. Quick question do you have videos on Hairlista Inc. I saw a coconut oil video as a deep condition and you look like the girl. Sorry if this question may seem silly. Thanks for the video.

iHeartChibii 2 years ago
I got this comb from my local BSS about 5 yrs ago...there was no name on it, but it only like $2. Check your local BSS, they should have it.

I called Sally's Customer Service to verify and they said it's definitely not being discontinued, and they're trying to get the manufacture to make more. She stated, it's a very popular product and it has been on back order for the past month.....fingers crossed they will get some soon, cause I only have 1 bottle left!

@marvinandjosh

Great vid, thanks dear.

Yes girl....I went in Sally's over the weekend and they where completely out....I glad I stocked up last month!
ninapruitt 2 years ago
So this is my second time reaching 7 months without a relaxer, with hopes of going natural, but transitioning sucks!!! and I'm not bold enough to do the BC...so lol I'm my hair appt for a relaxer is tomorrow. YOU have encouraged me to go back...And I am one to wear my hair down...I'm not a fan of protective hairstyles, I like the look of length...
what brand of coconut oil is it that you use?
shanaee2007 2 years ago
I know what you mean...what's the point of having long hair if you can't enjoy your length. I use Nutiva EVCO

you are so beautifull...i liked you!!!

Right now I'm stretching my relaxer (20 wks post), but I will do it once I relax. Would you prefer it done on wet hair or dry hair?
ninapruitt 2 years ago
Your nightly routine is excellent!
It has inspired me to upgrade my routine.
What kind of brush are you using?
Skye525 2 years ago
Thank you, I got that brush from Sally's it's called "Wooden Boar Bristle Oval Cushion Brush by Brush Strokes" $6.99, this is a firm but gentle brush....I love it ~ HTH!
ninapruitt 2 years ago

Thanks!
seriousaboutmyhair 2 years ago
I really don't wear updo's often, but I will try to put something together!
ninapruitt 2 years ago
Love ur Hair...its very relaxed...that length is my goal by the end of next year...
authentic810 2 years ago
Nina, since you don't do alot of protective styles, how do you keeps your ends so protected? I notice that when I wear my hair down, it will catch on my clothing. Also, with it getting colder how do you protect you hair during winter months and still retain length?
Jus2Jazzy4u 2 years ago
I protect my ends by Dcing weekly and Moisturizing & sealing daily, also I be very gentle with handling my hair. when I do wear my hair up I use jumbo bear claw clips, I like using these because they dont cause tention on the hair/edges. bunning

Can this comb be found at Sallys?
Pfruit09 2 years ago
Yes....that's where I bought it, I think it was like $2.
ninapruitt 2 years ago
Have you ever tried grapeseed oil as a sealant? I've heard this oil is very light and doesn't weigh the hair down. I've tried the coconut oil on my hair before but it is way too heavy. I am trying to get a lighter oil because I have thin hair.
keishiarenee 2 years ago
Yes.........I have grapeseed oil, but the benefits of EVCO is so much greater, a little EVCO goes a long way, try using less and see if you get the same results. Also make sure you are Clarifying your hair once a month with a clarifying shampoo to remove build up from the hair & scalp.
ninapruitt 2 years ago
I have been looking for this fantasia ic leave in moisturizer that you are using on your hair, but i can't seem to find it anywhere. a lot of people are telling me how good this product is.
keishiarenee 2 years ago
I purchased mine from Sally's.....if they don't have it, try target, walgreens & walmart stores or online ~ HTH!

Hey nina, this is Marci from Hairlista. Your hair is gorgeous, especially for 13 weeks post!
mbrdavis 2 years ago
Thank you Marci!
ninapruitt 2 years ago
you just proved that you can retain lenght with out doing protective styling or eliminating heat
JuelzThaHustler 2 years ago
Most definitely.......as long as you use a Ceramic plated (not ceramic coated) flat iron on medium heat with a max of 1-2 passes. Also I always deep condition B4 straightening my hair and I mosturizing & seal nightly. If protective styling is working for you, please don't change your regimen ~ HHJ!

do u relax your own hair or go to a hair stylist?
PureDestiny85 2 years ago
No.....my mom does it for me!
ninapruitt 2 years ago
Your at 12 wks post relaxer and your hair looks fabulous. With the right products you will see your hair can go longer without the chemicals. I use to use the Fantasia ic back in the day, thinking about checking it out again.
KLT828 2 years ago
Thanks Kelly, I know I can stretch longer.......but detangling after air drying is a pain, maybe I will just rock braidouts and skip the whole air drying & detangling!
ninapruitt 2 years ago
I know how you feel, detangling gets harder with each wk but with patience it gets easier.Braidouts and bantu knots became a staple for me when stretching. Don't worry your hair and scalp are going to repay you for stretching. after my stretch I notice my hair is alot stronger and resiliant.

kimmy8188 2 years ago
I usually flat iron 1-2 times a month.
ninapruitt 2 years ago
Your hair is so beautiful!!! I love the ic Fantasia but I only use it as a leavin... Next time I'll moisturize with it. Do you do this everynight even after a relaxer?
sweetfm2008 2 years ago
Yes.....everynight, this is what really helped me retain length, these products do not weigh my hair down, so my hair is usually thirsty come night!
ninapruitt 2 years ago
Hi...your hair looks great as always. What brand of coconut are you using? I would like to buy some from Amazon, but there's a variety to choose from.
Thanks
Daysha38 2 years ago
Thank you, I was Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil.
ninapruitt 2 years ago
Thanks for responding...I've been looking to order some, but as I said before...too much variety makes me crazy. :)
Daysha38 2 years ago
I cannot believe you are 12 weeks post! Your hair is beautiful! I'm eight weeks post and I swear combing is getting harder and harder. I have alot of new growth.
