Hey I have a BAMBOO PLYWOODs to sale- I started to import 100% natural bamboo plywood straight from China especially for LONGBOARD DECK MAKING. Contact me: bamboo.plywoods@gmail.com
Where did you get individual plys of wood (veneers)? I've tried Home Depot as well as 3 lumberyards, and none of them carry any types, let alone baltic birch (or maple)

Almost looks professional. Except the griptape, it would be cool if you stained a similar design on the top and then used clear grip. But it looks nice.
@simonsimon4131 yeh I did, that pic was not a good interp, weight was not set and I spun the board round, worker well, you just need a shit of weight, I used litterally 50 to 60 bricks
showing a bunch of pictures isnt all that helpful, myabe if you explained what was going on and what some of the things did more people would find this more helpful
@speedballxpro i made mine about 10cm longer than the board either end so i could use it for other boards later on that might be a bit longer, so i think its about 120cm long
@Hoosim14 Hey, umm well I don't know inches and all that stuff sorry, but apparently 1inch = 25mm, I used 3 sheets of 4mm ply for the board so unless it has expanded from water absorption or was compressed more in the mould that would be ~1/2inch i think.
@J84735 I glued the sheets, drew my board shape on top piece, put in press, took it out and cut it out, make sure you draw your board in middle of wood so the effect of press is even
that deck looks amazing.... the grip tape would look better if you had done strips to go with the finish on the underside. still great looking board though, good work. A++
@SlurryAdam hey man.. umm i really dont know aye, mine worked well for me havent tried any other methods so i dont know enough to give you a good answer
@123tam000 yes, whatever mould your using you need a decent amount of weight to make sure the board does actually fit into the mould...and yes you can make without fiberglass..but I made 2 boards before this that broke because of the poor quality of wood, you really do need good ply for it all to stay together, and good water resistant glue
@generalducttape wheels are retro zigzag ~ $50, bearing are bones reds ~ $40 and trucks are just these tracker lonboarding series, still decent though, good stability and whellbase ~ $70
Cheers for the comments Umm board has camber but edges curve up to give it concave like effect, used just a manufacturing ply, although the best quality I could get my hands on, dont know what wood is in it though
umm well I just used a localy made exterior ply ( I live in Perth WA) 3 sheets of 3mm thick. I used stain, a top coat varnish and exterior laquer for the finsish of the board.
@93nf hey mate how much did the three sheets of ply cost? (or 1 sheet before u divided it to 3.)

how many inches is the board
timmy5gh1 11 months ago
the underside of that deck was pretty sick... griptape not so much. You should have cut out a design rather than trying to make it fill

how do u make tht curve
123tam000 1 year ago
@123tam000 If you look at my mould pics I dropped the 3 middle pieces by a bit and raised the two end ones by a bit
93nf 1 year ago
@93nf ok I see, so basically right after I glue, I add some weight to the sides and use the clamps to keep them there
123tam000 1 year ago
@123tam000 yes, whatever mould your using you need a decent amount of weight to make sure the board does actually fit into the mould...and yes you can make without fiberglass..but I made 2 boards before this that broke because of the poor quality of wood, you really do need good ply for it all to stay together, and good water resistant glue
93nf 1 year ago
@123tam000 and also I noticed u didnt use fiberglass, so its still possible to make the board without using i?
