I have achromatopsia which colorblindness if a part of. If they're having much progress with this then surely something simular for achromatopsia will be around soon too I guess.

Viruses are integral to evolution. I can see why they want to use them for gene therapy when they naturally change genes by causing mutations.

I agree with tuseroni, I'm more excited for four color vision as opossed to the three color we have. I have a totally insignificant kind of color blindness and I'd be more happy seeing the ultraviolet spectrum than seeing a few shades of red/green that I miss.

@derekismature Ugh, I'd freak out seeing more of the spectrum than I already see in normal color vision. I was able to see the spectrum simulated as to what a bee see's etc. Its actually limiting and somewhat monochrome, but pretty in its own way, because the colors are very loud.

@derekismature Insignificant? Honey...I've seen simulated images of what the world looks like to you, and you have NO idea what you're missing. Everything will look COMPLETELY different when you are cured. I've already signed my boyfriend up for the clinical trials...we can't wait to be part of pioneering a cure!

I hope they get this done quickly. Colour blindness is the only thing stopping me from joining the airforce. I would pay a really large sum to get this therapy...
