Definitely one of Mickey Rourke's best roles, In his top 3. And didn't Lisa Bonet make a career statement? From an innocent Cosby Show teenager, to a sexual Voodoo priestess. This movie well and truly deserves it's cult status.

I love it how people think Harry Potter is just an innocent kids book, when it has the same occult items in it as this movie ~ THE HAND OF GLORY.

This movie is a powerful satanic occult movie, one of the best horror movies I think.

Poor Johnny Favorite just needed to call on Jesus and he could have escaped his sentence !

brilliant film & stunning cinematography...Rourke is superb in his role.

As for the soundtrack...it creates a superb atmosphere...and always leaves me humming/whistling 'girl of my dreams' long after finishing...definitely one of my alltime fav soundtracks.

A classic...a terrifying movie in many ways - gets intro the mind, the atmosphere throughout the movie is incredible...

If it was done today it would still shock - they are doing a sequel - should be set pots Iraq...the Cyphre character in the book could explored more in the dream sequences...this movie stays with me every time...

I have to disagree, "The Wall" is his masterpiece, in my opinion. But it doesn't matter, both are Very different, and both are Excellent. With AMAZING soundtracks.

But he is anyway a great director.
