  • The country loved J.F.K....He could joke around with him. He could take it. Have we had a president like this since? I think not.

  • When was this recorded?

  • @snoops71 ~ this was volume 2, released around april 1963, about 7 months before dallas. he released volume 1 in nov. of 1962, 5 months earlier. volume 1 was selling at an unheard of *one million records a week* for the first 7 weeks. it was recorded live.

  • @tomitstube One million a week??? Wow! Thanks for letting me know when this one was released. My family adored JFK.

  • @snoops71 ~ you are welcome, i got the info from wikipedia, i actually had no idea but thanks to you i was curious, and shocked as you to the amazing success of this record. after kennedy was killed the poor guy couldn't get arrested, his career was over and he had a pretty rough going of it for most of his life.

  • @tomitstube I heard about that! I read a movie about his life story is in the works. It should really be interesting. I definitely plan to see it.

  • "How sweet it is"

  • This is so wonderful to hear again after so many years

  • I still have both of these albums, still funny just as funny as the Kennedy Administration

  • JFK raps!!? 02:33 - 04:27

Forgot how well written this was. "Catholic church nearby", "option to buy" . . . really hit the issues.

Impressive too that it was recorded 'live' in front of a studio audience.

  • All these years...I never knew there was a second album. Was Vaughan Meeder able to have much of a career AFTER the assassination?

    Anyway, thanks for posting.

  • I did some reading on wikipedia, and apparently--after JFK's assassination-- many people removed these albums from their libraries because of the anguish and dismay America was going through. Additionally, the albums disappeared from store shelves, and although he tried, Vaughn Meader never enjoyed better success than he had impersonating JFK and Bobby.

  • @tubricant

Yes, just as David Frye faded away to the college circuit after Nixon's resignation.

  • @petclark1 a very true story is Lenny Bruce was mc at a New York comedy club , and they were not going to open due to the Kennedy Assassination , the night of. So they did open and the whole place was pretty silent and sad, and Lenny Bruce came out to open up and walk to the microphone and saids. Vaughn Meader is F**ked. and people laughed and it broke the ice. Drohegda

  • OMG My sides are splitting. I would watch "An Evening With JFK".

  • Great thanks for posting number two.

Great memories from more than 45 years ago
