i remember laughing at randy moss when he basically quit against the giants in 2000. that was a game that should have been the vikings brushing aside the giants but ended up a giants rout.
No Jim Marshall wrong-way run? This is only a history of the most disappointing losses in Viking history, lots of wins, good memories, and great players between those heartbreakers. The Vikings will get their day, Skol.
In these types of Vikings-disaster videos, they always leave out two of the most devastating losses. In both 70' and 71', they lost at home, to the 49ers and then to the Cowboys. These where two of the best Vikings teams ever...the Gary Cuozzo, Norm Snead years.
Also, in January of 78' they lost their 1st NFC Championship game.
it's all in the name....notice the big time franchises...all have names of "winners" 49ers, gold rush steelers, industrial age patriots, name says it all
cowboys, you know how they ran shit back in the day
vikings, indians, buffalo bills? the braves would be the same, but they ran in to the indians
those are all named after the ones that lost
the only strange exception is the redskins...still don't get that one..
Ya us generation Xers remember that atlanta game loss. That was the worst in my opinion of all because we set all kind of records that year offensively, we really had a better team than Atlanta that year. They played ball control and Chris chandler just made first downs.oooh and they shut randy moss down.
How can you say the vikings are the most snakebit franchise? At least you guys have made it to the superbowl. What about us Browns? Art Modell sells the team and they win a superbowl, he stole one from us. The drive, the fumble. All those times we got so close and lost. The Browns are the true most snakebit franchise ever.
@Thatisntoffthehook Let me start by saying I'm not a Vikings fan... but they are likely the most snake bit NFL team. The Browns are just bad. The Vikings could have been one of the league's most storied franchises with as many Super Bowl appearances and possibly wins as the Steelers 49ers and Cowboys. You can hardly say the same about the browns. Instead Minnesota finds a way to choke it all away.
@Pgaither84 No, I admit Vikings are really snakebit. But the Browns are too. They aren't bad. Like I said, drive, fumble, Art Modell selling a future championship team. The vikings just choke, they can't do it.
Definition of Snakebit: Experiencing a period of bad luck; unlucky''. Vikings aren't unlucky you at least made it to a superbowl. You just can't finish it.
@Thatisntoffthehook I wouldn't call what happened to the browns as bad luck though. If anything, Marty Schottenheimer is snake bit, as he took it where ever he went.
There is a difference between having bad luck, and being bad. The Vikings have lots of bad luck. the browns are known for just being bad. I'm a 49er fan. These last 9 years are great examples of just being bad.
@Pgaither84 True you make a good point about Schottenheimer. I mean back then I think we were one of the most Snake Bit franchise, now we aren't the best. I mean I would consider Modell selling the team not as much snake bit as horrible luck, but I still think that the Browns would be considered more Snake bit than the Vikings. And 8 years, in 2007 we went 10-6. Not to argue with you, just to say.
@Pgaither84 Lucky? Probably someone like the Steelers, not just because I'm a Browns fan, but because they have gotten great players in the drafts and are a good team. 49ers were really good back in the 80s and 90s. Steve Young and Joe Montana? Some of the best.
@Thatisntoffthehook That's why I wanted to ask you. I think we see luck differently. For example, i see the raiders as the most balanced in terms of luck. they get plays like the Holy Roller and Sea of Hands... and then they get the Tuck Rule and Immaculate Reception. They get both ends of the spectrum a lot, but fans only see the bad.
One day minnesota will win a superbowl and i mean soon as in next to 8 yrs.....they have too much talent not to win one.....and this is coming from a pats fan
@VikeFan284296 dude dont worry the vikes will theres no way they wont us Pats fans thought the same about our team and eventually we finally won..........just wait....and who knows? Maybe the vikes are the next 80s 9ers or the next 90s cowboys
In another forum some Minnesota guy was trying to troll by saying the packers are still the butt of jokes for their 70's and 80's woes. Perhaps he should take a view of this.
Anyway, if you chop off the packers' 60's one should fairly chop off the Vikings' early to mid 70's hey day (which they did nothing with ultimately). From 1977 forward, still containing a HUGE chunk of the Packers' futility, the Vikings have SIX more wins than the Pack. MN has more playoffs in that time, but GB did more.
@btez31 why does everyone think im talking about turnovers? the thing is EVEN WITH the turnovers the vikings were within a couple yards of a super bowl appearance. and then after childress' 12 men in the huddle forcing favre to be super man and pass it and it couldn't get any worse for the vikings and then in overtime the refs just had to help the saints in. every questionable call in overtime goes in favor of the saints. and no team earns anything. who cares if they had a hurricane?
@btez31 the saints did not earn that game, the vikings outgained them 2 to 1! but still managed to hand the game to them. the saints earned the superbowl win but not this one.
For 50years the last game the Vikings played has been a loss. Yep 50 losing seasons I mean 51 losing seasons...this franchise will never ever close the deal!!!!!
@mileyfan1220 Yeah, it's frustrating taking trashtalk from someone named "Mileyfan!"
Good video, sir. And good comments from all your brood, as I am one of them (Browns). SO here's to the Eagles, Titans, Chargers, Chiefs, Bills and all the rest who suffered from dynasties current and past.
@Brudei101 The Browns will have their year one day. We don't know when but it will happen. After that then the Tennessee Titans will be in the Browns spot, I can't wait for that to come
i feel for ya bro...i am a philadelphia eagles fan...we too have our fair share of disappointment. i would have to say though u unfortuantly have more...and for the record i think 98 team of probably the greatest single season team of all time.
I'm a big Cowboys fan. I live in Dallas. But I have been watching the Vikings curse for so long. One could argue who has been the biggest tease per decade: Bills, Browns, Bengals, Eagles, even more recently the Cowboys/Chargers... but there has been no bigger tease all along than the Vikings.
Real good video man. I gave you 5 stars I made a simliar video if you wanna check it out. I'm kind of new to video making and I haven't figgured out how to put motion videos on it yet. So mine's just a bunch of still shots like a slide show. I feel the pain and it hurts so bad. I really am starting to believe that God hates the MInnesota Vikings.
