So this was the original ending of Reanimator? Crappy, and not very suited to "Bride of". The face effect is weird and the scene doesn't work.

I prefer the original, with West presumed dead. And I always thought about that last scream as Meg reanimated as a crazy killer just like the others, you know like in the short story of Lovecraft when a reanimated man howls in an inhuman cry.

Wow..haven't seen this in years. If I remember right, this is on the original "Bride Of Re-Animator" DVD (the Pioneer Edition was is almost impossible to track down unless you want to pay big bucks on Ebay) and there were also rehearsal clips of them shooting this scene that were quite funny. Also, since Barbara Crampton wasn't interested, the "Meg" here is an actress named Mary Sheldon who never did anything else!

This was actually going to be the opening scene of the first sequel "Bride of Re-Animator". Notice its a different actress playing the role of Meg, so it couldn't have been from the first film.

I watched this scene first on my "Bride of Re-Animator" DVD. The actress does not look or sound like Meg to me and the special effects are worse than in the original "Re-Animator".

On Imdb.com they list Meg Sheldon as playing Meg Halsey in Bride of Re-Animator.
