@ICUMMUD So far, I've fallen hard for "Night Nurse." Too bad it was after the death of Mr. Isaacs. But his tunes live, and he thru them. Also Morgan Heritage get me goin' knowing Yuh No Haffi Dread(to be Rasta)!! Bless Up!!
Reggae sucks with the exception of Bob Marley and Steel Pulse. If you think I'm wrong please steer me in the right direction. Every reggae band people recommend to me is full of crappy synth sounds.
@rtoolio : fully in agreement: jus dont-a-forget ahhhh: Wailing Souls,Black Uhuru, and da BURNING SPEAR.LKJ and even Gil Scott Heron ( yea i know he s not a a reggae, but i saw all of them in WASH DC back in the day,so its all LOVE.and MUTABARUKA.
@rtoolio take a look at my page and the vids ive favorited if you want to expand your reggae selections! you couldnt be more wrong my friend! ive been listening to reggae for 20+ years and am still coming across good reggae music that i have never heard before!
there`s is no reggae band like this ................. and any band in this time can make this kind of reggae, unfortunately forever Steel Pulse..........
@orcanjus Yes!..Bob Marley is the greatest. But there are also many great reggae artists...here's a few for you to chill on...Desmond Dekker, Peter Tosh, Gregory Isaacs, Jacob Miller, Steel Pulse, The Heptones, Toots and the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Bunny Wailer, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Max Romeo, Inner Circle, and so much more. But that should get you started nice :)
i seen steel pulse in 78 playing on the same stage as the clash and they were good . i mean real good. they was the first reggae band i seen. .and they opened my mind to a different sound. glad they still making music. .
r-r-r-r-rASTA MAN!one hell of an underrated band. david hinds has one of the coolest voices!

A band that deserved much greater commercial success than they actually achieved - they have such immense talent
TEXBATES 11 months ago
@TEXBATES They would have had alot more commercial success if they weren't racists. But I agree, great band and ahead of their time back then.

dont forget black uhuru as well, uk reggae from the 70's early 80's was just sick.
some of the best ever tunes done
hairtrigger69 2 years ago
@hairtrigger69 Black Uhuru weren't from the UK. Don Carlos, Garth Dennis and Duckie Simpson are pure jamaican.
Love steel pulse though, so I'm not saying that being an english reggae band is an insult of some sort ...
