  • guessing the cone represented a shunt wire, they skipped it about one tie and kept tamping. I don't know much about these machines, but i do work with a surfacing gang and i believe the cat 09 are made in germany

  • Designed and manufactured at Plasser & Theurer in the city of Linz in Austria (sharing a shipyard repairing vessels on the Danube river), it is exported as a kit and assembled at Chesapeake. Identitical machines can be seen operating in Europe and other countries around the world.

  • There's Plasser factory here in the UK, just outside London, and I think they make some machines there, or did. Good video...maintainence of way tamper & a freight.  Mike.

  • @sgtredbluered: Plasser American does have a factory in Chesapeake, Virginia, although I'm not sure if the 09-3X is manufactured or just assembled here in the U.S.

  • I remember when they had a bunch of that MOW equipment in Davis. It's really fun to watch. So are SD9043MACs.
