Had the honour of opening for Rare Earth for 2 whole weeks in Calgary in '82! It was amazing. Peter hasn't changed his level of singing still. And how he still gives 100% on the kit and vocally. He inspired me to sing and now I have been a singing drummer too for many years. Thanks Peter!
Peter is still one of my all time favorites and has been since the 60's!!!!! He is as great as ever! Love this band! I would so love to attend a concert. You still got it goin' on Peter!!!! You have helped us all to Celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Peter!
He is so cool, he still can sing like he did in a past, not like most of them who have to rearrange their songs because they can't hit some notes... awesome and still sexy!!
Peter...if you ever read this, I want you to know how much your music meant to me growing up in Miami. I had an older brother who was there at Miami Marine Stadium...and since I was too young to go, he came home and told me all about it. You had gotten concerend about some of the fans in the water and didn't want them getting elecrocuted. Then, your live lp comes out and he got it for me for my birthday. It was the next best thing to being there.
I got the chance to meet Pete back in 2000 he with a few other Oldies rockers came to town I had him sign my original Rare Earth albums. He uses the snare drum & sticks in his autograph. I was also lucky to interview him on my radio show prior to coming to town via the telephone. If I can find the tapes I will post them. Great guy to talk with! He explains the whole deal with Motown's experiment with Rock and the Rare Earth Label. I was blown away at how he still sounds like the records!
These people look like they really enjoy playing. This is the BEST band by far that has played with Peter. I would love to see this band if it was ever in my area
WOW! Does that bring back memories Pete! And it's obvious you are never going to fade, fade, fade.....Still sounds like the old days. We had the incredible opportunity to open for Rare Earth back in the early 80's at The Ranchmans in Calgary.
The man has some sweet pipes to be sure, and he still kicks the s&@$ out of the skins too. Couldn't agree with you guys more on there being no RE without "the voice". Same with Chicago, Guess Who and other classic bands who had bass players with good lawyers who registered the band name before the other guys found out about it. Keep rockin' Pete...you still the man!
Hi! Peter is my father! I know for a fact that he doesn't have a DVD from his new band.. not quite sure he's going to make one. I'll let you know more if I know more! This band does the corporate shows, but he's still touring with the Classic Rock All Stars... Thank you to all his fans for your wonderful support.. the "new" rare earth just isn't the same without his vocals and drums..
I saw Rare Earth without Peter. What a letdown. I just ran across this video and Man this guy can still blow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. I am not sure this doesnt sound better than the original.
Hi! Your Dad has been my here since I was 10 in '76 and one of the main reasons I love music so much...I play guitar not drums though...He was so gracious to give me the sticks he played a show here in Ky with.I have them framed in a shadow box along with my rare earth lp that he signed for me. He is almost like an uncle or older brother to me!THE best I have ever heard-period
Pete is my cousin. Thanks to all of you for your wonderful comments. He is an amazing artist and an even more amazing man. It really warms my heart to hear his fans talk so fondly of him.
Peter Rivera: Great Voice, Great Timekeeper! Saw him & the C.R.All-Stars in Wolcott, Ct. Awesome performace, He hits tose skins with autority and finesse. Rock on Forever, Peter!
Wow! Rivera's still got a great voice! And guess what? *snicker* He's fronting a local all-star group at an outdoor fest for free this weekend. Its only an hour-long show, but, hey! Its 10 minutes from my house. Wooo-hoooo! "Get Ready" to "Celebrate"!!
I am a fan since the 60's when I heard the 21min. Get Ready version. Pete is still the best. I'm glad he's still on the road. I live in São Paulo Brazil, and I would like to order the complete show on DVD. How can I do it? Thanks and keep the good work
At the moment this 6 minute clip is all I have. It is not available in full show format. I would check Peters web site from time to time to see if a complete video is ever marketed.

Pete sounds as good as he did in 71, but his band is quite ordinary. The bass player is really very, very mediocre. Ouch!!
At any rate I'm happy for Pete Rivera. He sounds great.
