Make sure you get the mesh for the furniture if it requires one. And make sure you're extracting everything into your downloads folder. Also make sure you download the mesh before downloading the recolors of it.

The Nightlife and Pets expansion packs give you the option to view neighboring lots so I placed city buildings in the neighborhood(they come with NL and are with the neighborhood decorations) around June's house so it looks like they live near the downtown area
