Jim Leonard. You my good sir are an institution. I grew up watching your video's (I'm an australian!) and i have nothing but respect for the fantastic work you do. So much more professional than that really annoying bastard Reed Timmer!
Yes, that was from a storm back on May 22nd that year. That was a lone softball that struck the upper left corner of the windsheild, there was mostly golfball and smaller stones in that storm then all of a sudden this monster stone hit and glass shattered all the way to the back of the van.
It was mostly in open country as we saw it. We did come up to a family who had damage to their house and wires were down across the driveway, we went to pick them up and took them to a relative in town. From the looks of the damage to the house it apeared to be F-1 damage.
y do these guys want the tornado to touch down like all stormchasers is it for there job do they not know ppl die from this kind of weather do they even care?
they don't want ppl to die, don't be dumb.. This is a passion, this is straight from the heart hobby, its a love for storm chasers. You would never understand unless you went on a chase which I suggest you go sometime in your life, its a rush and a thrill!
These people do research on these storms. The research goes to improving warning times and prediction methods. Its a passion and its an amazing one. They want the storms to touch down because its an amazing sight, and because when they do, they can learn more from them. They are dedicated to saving lives, not hoping they are lost.
I was on the storm from a totally different angle. The storm STRUCTURE on this storm was INCREDIBLE. Multy layered wedding cake structure. The inflow was insane too
All around excellent. A top ten!!!

That year was a scary year. We had 7 tornados hit at one time. It took out a lot of peoples houses.

Nice positioning Jim! Here's a different perspective of 4 satellites on that day. We saw the wedge but our poor contrast made for poor video.

I dont think you can get an inflow that is that strong and not get something good out of it. That was a nice storm though. Good Vid.
