и нихрена это не Ушаков!!!а самый настоящий эсминец Бесстрашный! бортовой номер 434!! у Ушакова номер 090 и стоит тихо у причала завода Звездочка в Северодвинске!!!
As someone who served on a US Navy ship of a similar sort to the one in the video, let me explain some things…
First… those seas are at least 30 feet. Someone said no more than 10 feet… clearly, they know nothing about the size of the ship involved. Such a ship cruises through 10 foot waves as though they are nothing. 10 foot waves do not break over the bow, nor do they toss the ship about like it was a toy.
The ship I was on went through storms and waves like those in this video… in fact, even worse! I remember one Typhoon, east of Japan, in 1977, where the waves were this size, and also one and a half, and occasionally two times higher.
That ship would slip through the mouth of the Columbia River like a knife through warm butter. It would get tossed about a bit… maybe one or two waves would top the bow… then, that would be it. The Coast Guard boats (they are not ships) which patrol those waters are designed to completely overturn, yet right themselves. If that destroyer capsized……….
The Bering Sea? Oh… you mean to say you think that ship has not been there???
The ship gets tossed about, and when the screws (propellers, to you Discovery Channel jockeys) get lifted out of the water (as happened in this video), the entire ship shakes like a dog shedding water. Those of us on board at the time were seriously wondering if the ship would simply just break apart. Especially after two days of this pounding…
But… sleep was possible… you have to sleep sometime… I certainly did!
From the video, I'm amazed it is still afloat. That sea is ten feet at most. Our ships will stand seas three times that high and considerably greater. One would think that by now, they knew how to design a ship, but obviously they do not.
That hulk would be at the bottom if it went to the mouth of the Columbia River or attempted the Bering Sea.
@WatsonMike1234 The sea here is at hurricane force winds, probably its the North Sea, which is well known for its tremendeus weather conditions. Also note that this is a 250m ship..its not small.I can't see why you make such comment, only reason i can think is envy.
