  • I had this surgery last May after years of fighting U.C. What relief !! The Ostomy bag took some getting used to . It was an interesting summer , If your having this surgery and have any questions , hit me up ! This surgery was the beginning of getting my life back . I'm going back for the " J - Pouch " surgery in a week .

  • wonderful thank you

  • This is a great video, the apron is a creative way to make this easy to understand

  • My daughter had the surgery and had an ileostomy bag and was doing great. Then her small intestine flipped causing a blockage. The blockage was fixed by surgery. 21 days later the same thing happened. Does anyone know why this keeps happening?

  • the blockage could be a result of hard to digest food such as corn , popcorn, celery , coconut and other foods.

  • I had this surgery a week ago. I am not even half way thru this and I feel like a new man. U.C. beat me down. Dr. Amy Halverson of Northwestern , Chicago gave me my life back so far. I also have to thank my G.I. Dr. Terrence Barrett also of N.W . I was in the hospital for four days. I'm Coming Back ! Thank You to Dr. Thomas Hall of Valpo, Indiana for hooking me up with these Professionals . If any of you have any questions please ask me .

    regards

  • if ever given the option to have take down surgery, I would recommend taking upon the opportunity. I had surgery for an ileostomy after suffering with UC for 5 years and had the ileostomy for about 2 years before having a J Pouch formed and its amazing. no more bag, no more cleaning the ileostomy, it really is a relief after having one for 2 years. the J pouch does have its moments when you wish you never got rid of the ileostomy, but at the end of the day I wanted my normality in life back :)

  • thats a brilliant aprin! good video!

  • thanks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much its help me to understand for my surgery exam

  • Thank you very much, this really helped me understand this surgery more clearly.

  • thnak you very very much. Very helpful to me.

  • Great work, well done!

  • I have a special problem that I don't know how the doctor is going to deal with, I have a mesh in my abdomen from a surgery that went wrong so I don't know if he can cut threw the mesh but he can't remove it because it's what's holding my intestines in. Do you know why he'd give me an ileostomy if I only have the sigmoid being removed? THank YOu, Ivoney

  • This was my first attempt for this type video. I have not figured out how to add captions correctly. I see I need to raise the apron so it can be seen with the captions. It is a work in progress!

  • i like this joy. i dont know how you put the apron back on with the stoma out and get it straight, but you did! This is good dear.
