  • great vid u should make one with a .22lr because iv heard alot about that to that oh its small that cant do anything because its small ppl think it cant kill them or do any damage

  • @awhite89012090909 we might do some stuff with .22. Usually not that exciting because it passes right through most material. But info wise, it's good to know.

  • if a person is shot in the chest with that stuff, would in go straight through them?

  • @TheHeartOfTheLion based on some things I have shot over the years, it would make a helluva divit if nothing else ;)

  • Just don't miss!

  • @neilytron point one, worth taking!

  • I finally dismantled a Microwave with some 7 1/2 20 ga low brass. Yeah, stopping a firearm in any way shape or form is a losing battle.

  • Thanks for the video. Straight to the point and this proves almost any birdshot in the house will go through any regular wall in the house.

  • @Pill88Dickle hard for me to imagine "safe" ammo. Thanks for watching.

  • @bigbob6556 with a 12 gauge it doesn't matter what load your using its still a DAMN 12 gauge...... So birdshot or 00 buck its still a powerful ass weapon system that's delivering the shot best bet is use 00buck with the low recoil for home defense and don't miss ....

  • He just said he used bird shot as well as 00 buck so they all penetrated... Watch video again.....

  • Thats why you use birdshot for home Defense, dont have to worry about it going through walls. 8 shot birdshot does fine as home defense and will rip someone up.

  • was this 2" ,3 or 3 1/2 ? (my guess is 2") i dont know much a bout guns

  • so, in your opinion, what firearm would be the best for home defense? assuming you miss your target, and assuming you hit them?

  • Awesome video. Great work. Do some now with the 12 gauge Winchester pdx1. That should be interesting.

  • great comparison...thanks4 sharing

  • I'm sure it's been suggested, but you guys see what would happen if you hit your target, and had a normal interior wall behind that? I mean, if you could manage a dead pig from a local farm, that'd probably work just fine, and put a few different rounds through it (#4 bird, #8 bird, etc)? Seems like that would be a good next step from these videos. Obviously this is great information as to why you shouldn't let this situation even take place, or at least you shouldn't miss.

  • @HammeredAndHorny the wall shooting vids were inspired by the "birdshot is safe if you miss" chatter. We do have another 3 or so vids on walls up here. Thanks for stopping by!

  • @usframe I'll check 'em out. I'm probably going to put up some videos of me shooting some drywall with different rounds after going through some kind of medium with the same density as that of a human's torso. Nothing is safe if you miss, but I'd like to see what's safer, assuming you connect with your target.

  • It is kind of idiotic to not expect bullets to go through walls. If you shoot any caliber firearm or any shotgun load, expect it to. You should do a test with insulation and something mimicking a torso.

  • @phgHunter yep, but one can hear that idiotic statement of certain calibers being "safe" or underpowered all over the Web. Insulation had never seemed to affect passage when I experimented years ago. Although, we do have a video of exrternal wall, where insulation would be found. BTW< I have invited the fella that claims in his videos that a 9mm could be caught at 75 yds because it is weak to test that with us, but no reply.

  • You need a target that mimics a human torso in front of the drywall! This test is ok to account for an inaccurate shot.

  • I would like to see this same test with some ballistics gel a couple feet behind the wall. Thanks for posting!!

  • A bb gun will shoot through 3/4 inch dry wall at less than 750 fps, I tried it...

This box of low brass 7.5 shot i have here says 1140 fps.

I wonder if those .38spl snake shot rounds will go through dry wall...

  • @mikeb1444 yeah, I was just reading some material the other night, and again, it stated to use a shotgun for home defense because it will not penetrate walls...

  • @usframe

I think they mean that if you shoot someone, the shot can't penetrate the person and the wall. That might be true for birdshot.... maybe, but for buckshot, no way.

  • @mikeb1444 sorry to be unclear, it was in the event of missing. Obviously, you understand that there is no "safe" projectile. Thanks for watching, and comments!

  • Very informative, well described video!

  • @m1shadow hey M1! Thanks for stopping by

  • very nice review on the very mucg debated subject...you guys should be on mythbusters, guns edition.

  • @JohnyCakes82 in the next month or so more stuff involving structures on the way

  • Something I would be interested to see is what sort of penetration power the pellets have *after* passing through the wall. Clearly they're still dangerous, but how dangerous?

  • @snidelywhiplash Disregard - just noticed & watched your pumpkin video. Ouch. :)

  • great video

  • i ALWAYS hate hearing the "overpenetration" argument against any FMJ round for any gun or heavier shotgun loads. If you're so worried about actually "penetrating" things, maybe you shouldn't have a gun? Sleep with knives and bats, cuz yes...good guns penetrate. Good video proving that.

  • great info

  • @MONNIEHOLT thanks!

  • you guys doing any more tests with Remington 870?

  • @870slideaction we have all sorts of stuff planned, especially heading into Fall

  • nice video. check my new ones out. shooting stucco and stone walls with various guns

  • @whoopdeedoodee will do asap

  • Excellent testing vid. Extremely valuable information. Thanks a ton for putting that together.

  • Dig it. Bring on the vids! :-)

  • Great videos! keep them coming!

  • Your videos are what Youtube is lacking....Common sense and real world testing. So many people believe what they see in movies or TV it's crazy. I truly believe that Birdshot could be a Good home defense round giving the distance. it's also shows the birdshot WILL travel thru walls and produce some serious hurt...keep up the good work

  • "irritate"

  • It's about time someone did this test and posted it.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • An excellent demonstration. Than you for your hard work in making this excellent video.

  • thanks, having some problems uploading today's test, but hopefully very soon. More interesting results to come.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey bladeimm, just put up another vid with more tests for interior discharges involving multiple walls Against what almost everyone says, I have my shotguns in the home using non 00buckshot or slug shells. As soon as there a greater distances involved, such as outside the home, it is not a shot gun I would be using. I guess I am thinking that self defense is not usually at more than what? And, I believe that the shotgun is used because it has a fear factor, not that it is better.

  • To finish that thought, self defense is going to happen in a limited distance. The perp is going to have a close proximity to you and loved ones within the home .

  • Now there's a good eye opener for yah! Thx Guys and good job! ~mk

  • Good stuff. So much power, regardless of load. I suppose someone hit on the other side of a wall would be more likely to survive small shot that has lost most of its energy; however, I would not volunteer to be the test subject! :-) My recent video was mainly to bust the "spread" myth; your penetration test here is another good eye opener people need to see.

  • thanks Hickok, it was comments on your Myth Buster that inspired this test.

  • Looks like even the wad made it through the first sheet of drywall

    Great video

  • Very interesting gentlemen! Thank you.

  • Thank you! I must have still been annotating when you viewed.

  • Good Vid guys. I would like you to shoot the wall and hit the studs. Wonder what those poor studs would look like post shot?

  • we did, the quality was poor from darkness. The 7 1/2 shot blew a crater deep into the 2x4 after blowing the drywall away. We will gather more footage in the near future
