its good they repeat many times. But they speak so fast and they don't break down the parts and tell us meaning. its so challenging. some romanised words below would help. like Chinese has Hanyu Pinyin for dummies like us!!
@SkylarkInTheSky I'm not korean but I'm pretty sure, 'imnida' is when you reply to a question or well like not a question. As for 'imnikka' is used for questions.
what is the difference between "komapseumnida" and "kamsahamnida?"
also, i hear a lot of variation for the subject "i" - i've heard people say "cheo nun" "na neun" "che ga" and "nae ga" - what are the differences between these?
What are the pronounciations for "Where are you from?" and "I'm from ____ " ? It's hard to understand, and I'm not sure if I'm saying it right. Can you type it out in an Americanican pronounciation?
@matzohball03 its literal romanization would be"eoneu nara saram ipnikka" but when pronounced it sounds more like "oh-nuh nara saram im-nee-kah." all As make an open "ah" sound like in father, and Is make an "ee" sound like in knee. hope that helped ^^
can someone pleas pronounce the difference between asking where are you from and whats your nationality????!!!!!!! it sounds the same!!!! its confusing me!!! TY
these is a bit kinda hard for me 2 understand i mean it is good that they repeat it slowly but it is a bit boring type of teaching and plus they r kinda saying a bit fast so its hard 2 understand
Thankyou ATokyoite for putting the romanisation of Yong guk as I was just about to ask how to say that I was English. Could anyone please show me how it looks in Korean characters?
this is waaaay beter than the new version. this goes slower is easier to understand and doesnt get you all confused by saying to many things at once o.o
hello ...can i ask about this please.. im confused with how to pronounced the "리" and if i romanized it, it is "RE" ?? am i correct?? or is it "LE"?? thank you... kamsahamnida..
wow ... I love these videos but :S can someone please re-write what they said around 2:35 romanized?? (as in, not characters) because I can not hear this well xP
Thanks for the upload! I think this older version of the show is easier to follow than the new one, plus one of the hosts of the new one is incredibly irritating
thanks, i just like to make sure before i move onto the next step. I was a bit tongue-tied at first but i think i get the pronounciation right too lol :)
Strangely, they did not mention that the word for "America" (U.S.) is MIGUK and "English" (U.K.) is YONGGUK. I would have expect those words more so than, e.g., China/Japan, given that this video is for English-speakers.
yes you can leave it out but remember it's there to show respect. so take it out only when talking to someone you are very familiar with and who is also around your age or younger.
You should look at other videos to go over the vowels and consonants first.
That's the flaw in Let's Speak Korean, it assumes you already know how to read and pronounce hangul. When you think about it thus far this series has taught only two vowels so how can one effectively read with only that much knowledge? You can't! So that mean you must first master (at least get a handle on) the vowels and consonants. Here's the good news. It's very easy to learn so you can learn it in a day or two.
Chonun United States then what???
