It's true that Maharishi has initiated 100s of scientific studies published in peer-reviewed journals, and is himself a trained physicist, but the meaning here of scientist of consciousness has an extra meaning: it means diving within to conduct research subjectively. Funnily enough, this process leads to the objective as one experiences finer and finer levels of relative and then reaches the absolute. The glory of Maharishi's approach is that one gains bliss consciousness along the way.

How about hundreds of experiments (all documented in huge books you can find if you want to) about the effects of group meditation on crime rates and other societal issues.
