@russiangymfan well, i apologize on behalf of my media lol. and maybe my previous comment wasn't deleted (AHEM), i could probably back up my response better.
i don't know how things work in china. i only base off my opinion from what i've seen. and if you've seen the videos, you can't blame me for thinking that way.
& for the record, what do mean by uncivilized? lol, like cavemen or something? well i can assure you i'm very civilized. maybe ill-informed, but that's not my fault lol.
Yes they were crying and yes they were in pain. But that's what it takes to be an OLYMPICS CHAMPION. I bet nastia and shawn were just like them when they were that young, that's how they become to be olmpics champions.
sorry dude. one vid about a crazy gym doesn't speak for everyone. way to just look for one thing and criticize the shit out of it. shows how terribly uninformed you are about everything else. focus on your country's problems and perhaps you'll realize USA has just as much crap as everyone else.
you are ill-informed and what you said is actually the furthest from the truth. Many chinese kids line up at gyms and other areas of athletic study begging them to take them in. It's not the fact that they will win, but the honor and pride of representing your country. the chinese athletes aren't robots, they just have great passion.
For those kids who attend training camp at the national team for the first time, those members of the olympics gold team are someone whom they admire. In fact, 4 years on, they would be become the elite for the Olympic team.
(coach Lu)"After seeing them I am quite happy, some teams are quite complete, for instance the Hunan team, having looked at them, their kids perform better"
During these 10 days of training camp, the national coach would use their experiences to select candidates.
Among the camp we saw past world champion Ling Jie. She has been training gymnasts at the Hunan Provincial Team for three years. "Ling Jie, would you introduce these two to us?" "Ok, they are my trainees, I have trained this (the one on the right)for two years, and this (the one on the left) for three years. Both of them are considered to be more all-rounded among our team. In addition, they train well and they rather like gymnastics."
This morning, national gymnastic camp training has begun in the gymnasium of the national team. Don't overlooked the fact the participants are only 12-13 years old, those who performed well would be selected as members of the 2012 Olympic team.
This training camp would last for 10 days. The kids who attend the camp are talented gymnasts from different provinces with the average age to 12. If they pass the selection, they will officially become a member of the national team.
