  • i play 1st trumpet. im just waiting for the day to play this in band lol

  • !st Chair percussionist!!! Wait.......

  • i thought this was just a remix of The Maelstrom..

    still pretty good!!! :D

  • played this in 7th grade (i think) the flute part is the same basically... but REALLY GOOD piece(:

  • @amusicianscorner I mean basically the same at the fast part((:

  • For everyone posting your chair: That's irrelevant in a good band. You pick your part based on strengths. Now Enjoy the Music :D

  • Yay! :-) ♩~:~)~

  • this piece never gets old! :D

  • 2nd chair first part Alto saxophone. It makes me finger confused, but still a good song c:

  • i played this song in honors band in 7th grade French horn FTW

  • @KWforeverandfamily lol im 2nd chair in my band my freshman year and i have to play a high c and me and the 1st chair whos a senior cant get it out and when we do its really out of tune lol

  • we just started this song and i can do it on my trombone exept the end.

  • My school is playing this for our next concert XD the first flute part is AMAZING.

  • @MissPiccolo514 So is mine :D

  • i play the tuba and its awesome to listen to this song because i sit in the far back and get to listen to all the playing

  • We played this in concert band. Don't have strings, so the flutes naturally got the best parts. :)

  • The first horns boss!!!!! WE OWN! XD and props 2 the trumpets :P

  • Freaking Challenge tomorrow with the Trumpets.... I'm nervous... But I'm first chair and I can't really play a high G that well.... I know. I SUCK. But, whatever... I hope I stay first..

  • Pretty okay

  • MASSA MESSSSSSSSSSSSMO!!!!!

  • This song I have challenge on. And I am., SCARED.

  • @MyNameIzKate Guess who Kaitlynn? Ahem! Kap!:D By the By, I didn't hear your challenge... But Yeah.. Soo uhmm this is Awkk.

  • My band is playing this for our spring concert. The version we have is slightly different. It's a hella lot faster. I'm first chair trombone in my band and I was 'lucky' enough to be granted the bassoon part. Freaking hard when we play it uber fast lol

  • "1st" chair bass clarinet (they're only 2 of us)- I LOVE this song. even though our music goes really high, its really fun. during the flute/bass clarinet solo, the boy who plays b. clarinet with me doesn't know how to play notes high C and above (ikr? inbeleiveable..) anyway, so its basically just me, and people stare at me and it's like "woah, im actually the center of attention in band! :D YAY!) so anyway, its pretty fun. :3

  • @emmsies98 i played this my 8th grade year on the Bb soprano clarinet... i kinda wish i played the bass clarinet for it. i played bass clarinet for concert band 9-11th grade and symphonic band 12th grade though =)

  • I think is too fast first theme and is too slow the central coral...

  • This is supposed to be the concert band arrangement? Why do I hear strings? lol

  • Bari sax I,love for this mught have some boring parts but @ 1:08- idk but thatsvthe bari sax

  • 1st chair clarinet. The first time playing it was like a trainwreck because of how fast it was and the rhythms, but after that it wasn't too bad. It just LOOKS scary. :)

  • Flute on this is really really boring ~

  • I had to play snare drum on this song. SO BORING I wish i had stuck with the bells which play the melody the whole time.

  • We all know bassoons are the bestest! :)

  • im playing trumpet for this song, i love it. a big thing is to really pay attention to the rests tho, they add so much to this song. so much fun!

  • This is the orchestra version... but it's a good piece anyway!

  • @geniusboy98 No wonder it sounds funny

  • This is one of my band songs, and I love it!!

  • I'm playing Timpani in this song and all the tuning changes are FREAKING me out. Any advice?

  • @shtoonkeygseers I Played timpani for this song too. :) I would sugest that you sort of memorize your entrances. Listen to the recording and be farmiliar with whats happening musicly before you come in. If you do that, you'll be able to retune the drums without having to worry too much about you place in the music. You'll tune more accurately that way too. You'll just have to wait and listen for your cue. But make sure that you know exactly where you come in or it wont work. :/

  • @erikswr thank you soooo much. Thats a really good idea.

  • @erikswr I agree, I just started this piece today, memorizing your entrances will help, but also, having a stool is almost essential for a song like this.( I say this because I know many schools don't have one, or can't afford one). Best of luck!

  • @puddingandFriends if you don't like this song, don't listen to it. Second, go see a doctor.

  • I can completely zone out by just putting it at a low volume and resting my iPod against my and closing my eyes

  • YES! FLUTE SOLOS! YOU'RE SO RIGHT!!!!!!!!! I played this in high school. This channel is great it has a TON of stuff our Wind Ensemble used to rock out. Like Frank Tichelli's Vesuvius. Beautiful piece.

  • He writes the best flute solos <3

  • @TheBloodyCrime Typical trumpeter...

  • Listen to this, while using the toliet.

  • I marched to this in marching band omg it was epic!!!

  • Your mom,.... she blowed me nice.

  • And hiv

  • i have aids

  • Doesnt this song suck like really bad

  • i love this song soooo much!

  • Robert W. Smith is a genius, I got to meet him a couple days ago because he composed my marching band's show! He's hilarious and runs marching band rehearsals like a boss!

  • Played this in middle school. I still have the music and use it as my warm up! Lol.

    Clarinets, ftw. <3

  • Me and my 8th grade band are playing this song it's hard!!! xD

  • @brooklynnbaby113 lol good luck my high school band is playing it and its feckin hard as hell, i thought playing Bari Sax was easy... i thought wrong -.-

  • @devilmania68 The bari part is only tough when the low section soli happens. That part is worth it once you have it down, promise. Still got it memorized after a year and a half.

  • @dasenteney ya i had a playing test on it, i managed to get most of it down, its definitly a song im going to remember for a while.

  • @devilmania68 Oh yea I agree when we listened to our concert we freaking bombed it xD it was HORRIBLE! and it was my favorite song too :(

  • I played flute...and those parts were NO joke!

  • After we played this for the end of the year a storm that brought a tornado hit :D (btw I had the trumpet solo)

  • Who performed this?

  • i always loved the play any note part at the end of the song

  • @wwehalomixer Then YOU should listen to atonal music.

  • I just wanted to point out that this song has a LOT in common with "Incantations" by Robert Smith...

  • i played flute for this part and may i just say, i wanted to like pass out afterwards; but it was really fun and we played it really well

  • 1:04 - 1:12 it sounds so azn :)

  • 1:04 - 1:12

  • Extended College Level version of hot cross buns.

  • I'm in the 8th grade, we are doing this for our winter concert, the tuba part is kinda boring at the beginning >_<...

  • Haven't heard this in a long time and it's definately been a long time since I've played this!

  • I love this song, I thought only Jazz music was fun like this but this song is INCREDIBLE. <3

  • this song was the first i ever learned how to play on the flute it was hard

  • A moment of silence for the 3 people that were lost in the storm

  • Robet W. Smith by far is the most talented composer that I have ever had the opportunity to play.

  • Haha I played percussion on this like 8 years ago!!!!

  • First flute is sooo annoying to play. This song is a good listening song. NOT fun to play.

  • I played this song when I was a sophomore in high school in 1996-1997. It was easily my most favorite song I played my entire middle and high school years. I played 3rd part clarinet when we played it but I loved the 1st part clarinet part. We tried to play it again my senior year but the people I was in concert band with apparently didn't care so we had to play stupid stuff that year. I haven't played since I graduated high school in 1999 but listening to this brought back alot of memories.

  • I play the Bassoon♥

  • The only thing I disliked about this at the time I played it was that half of the Alto Sax Part was just a series of eighth notes on Concert Bb...

  • I played this 3 years ago with the WoSIS concert band. Just found it and remembered. Thanks for putting this up, it is such a good peice.

  • i love this song so much! I played it last winter for my high school concert and im still not sick of it!

  • been so long since ive played it but has everyone played it for 8th grade concerts?

  • @1504connor i think so i remember wen i played it...we won 1st place with this piece

  • Quoting Dr. James Watson of Sherlock Holmes: "A well played violin is music for the Gods." Absoluting amazing!

  • I played the flute part to this in a marching band arrangement in my FIRST marching show EVER... Eighth grade was so long ago... This is SO COOL to hear again, and only ten-THOUSAND times better for orchestra. :D Thanks for posting!!!

  • This is our senior song this year. We also played it for my old band teacher's retirement party. It was a lot of fun

  • I liked this song.!!

  • Gave me chills. Love this song!

  • love the bassoon!!

  • THis is a very technical piece. I definitely enjoyed the challenge of playing baritone saxophone on this. You have to be able to understand the natural changes in dynamic magnitude to really play this piece CORRECTLY. THis is definitely easy for someone to think they're playing it right and it be playing it absolutely wrong.

  • I played this in New York my sophomore year. I had Flute 1. Greatest piece ever! So much fun to play!

  • I <3 this song. Nuff said.

  • Haha I had to do a scene from a play to this music. I had to climb a volcano and throw an evil GPS device into it!

  • Played this 8 years ago XD the second clarinet part is boring as all hell, let me tell you

  • @REMKAZ2Y5 im 3rd clarinet lo. :P

  • @REMKAZ2Y5

haha i hav that part rite now XD

  • Haha I played this in 8th grade with our Junior High honor band and I was first chair so I got the Clarinet solo thing :DD LOVED THIS SONG!

  • My band teacher wants my band to play this~ She thinks we're ready, but we're only in seventh grade intro band xD

  • @AerraKnite I'm in seventh grade and this was the first song we played this year. It looks hard but it's not if you break it down (: Now we're playing Puszta movements 1, 3 & 4

  • Our high school concert band played this last year and is playing into the couds this year!! I love hearing my part(:

  • @DeZy21597 wats ur part?

  • "gives you an amazing pictures of what a storm is actually like"

Y'know, just in case you didn't know what a storm was like.

    Great piece though.

  • hey guys i play clarinet and i am in middle school (7th) and we had to play this at our band concert and we were as good at this

  • @2kscbs1 SUCH A COOL STORY

  • i'm playin this in my band. we're pretty good, except im freaked cuz i have to play the solo flute part. not that it's hard, just stage fright. :)

  • I'm playing this with the orchestra band in my school. It's pretty fun to play, especially for bass clarinet.

  • This is very, very good. What is surprising is that it is played by a full piece orchestra. They make it sound so amazing!

  • love this song, played it at an honor band at The University of Memphis, the solo is so fun. (trumpet)

  • @sandsurfer55 i had to play this song in my High School and i made people have shivers run up and down there backs

  • Saxophones, FTW.

  • the 3 people who dislike this are not the smartest cus there arent many grade 3 pieces where you can make something sound so beautiful
