Caleb was euthanized in October. His aggression took a turn for the absolute worse when he went for the one person I thought he would never attack: me.
I miss this guy, but I do believe he is a much better place now. Sadly, his time here did not show him the better parts of humanity. Caleb is not and will never be forgotten though.

What a gorgeous aussie boy! It is a miracle that he was rescued from a shelter, he is a lucky one. Just goes to show you that beautiful breeds, purebreds too, can be adopted, they don't have to be bought from a breeder... I sure hope that he can get his treatment!

I don't mean to play devils advocate here folks, but Caleb is an Australian Shepherd, not a Pyr Shepherd. They don't look anything alike, google the breed and see.
HWs effects 2 out of 10 dogs here in GA. I hope his treatment comes through, because we had planned to pull him here in GA, but weren't allowed to because another rescue had already spoken for him. We would have had him treated for about $375. Hope this rescue realizes Aussies are sensitive to Ivermectin and don't use that.
Caleb has pyr shep fur, a pyr shep face, and is pyr shep size. I have never met a dog that looked less like an Aussie and more like a Berger des Pyrenees in my life. His weight is right, his build is right- whatever breed he is, it is NOT Australian Shepherd. His merle markings are not typical of Aussies. He is way too small for an Aussie (the BC seen in this video is a very petite BC- Caleb comes up to a little below my knee).
I'm not saying you are wrong about the Pyr. Shep. in him. But how can you say he looks less like an Aussie and more like a Pyr? The smooth faces Pyr shep look a lot like aussies and that's believed to be where the Aussie became Merle. The other thing is that Caleb has tri-markings which I don't think is common to see in a Pyr. Shep. I do agree though that he does have less common aussie merle markings.

definitely... there is no way they should give up after all he has been through. We should all help him to get through this rough time. It just shows that this dog is strong and we should all support that. All dogs deserve another chance, especially Caleb.

I googled The Berger des Pyrenees and didn't think he looks like one. He looks like the mini aust. shepherds I have seen. Either way he is cute :)
