I have never understood this joke. It's fun to hear a comedian get as crude as they want, but i do not understand the need for this joke as a vehicle for that. Maybe the punch line was intended to be a commentary on the debauchery of aristocratic society, but I can't imagine this joke being funny if told by one serf to another regarding their lords. @trueleroix I think the humor is in the irony that it isn't funny and it was never intended to make any sense. It's more of a contest than a joke, a contest of who can make it the dirtiest and most offensive. The punchline was set up intentionally to be a whatthefuck moment. Truthfully the "aristocrats" could be switched out for anything as long as it makes no sense and maintains some kind of irony. It's been passed down for so many years most people already know the punchline.
