  • I'm not a feminist. But I do love this song.

  • Lost my copy years ago in moving.I've been looking for this song since. Thank You B.B. )O(

  • This Lady Knows.

  • Lady, Rock ON!!!

  • Lyric goofs: "I don't DEFY my name to suit the master plan" and "For pie in the sky" should be "From high up in the sky." XD

  • what a lyrics!!! great and true

  • i love it when songs hit me like this! LOVE IT!

  • A Witch is what I am! Love the lyrics :) Wonderful song.

  • Where can I download this song?? I love it

  • @alchemy1300 Lady Isadora has a website easy found through google. this song is one of her free Mp3 download files. She's been around as Pagan/Witch singer since 1979.

  • Thank you,I've been meaning to share this.In my top10 favorite songs of all time blessings to you

  • I don't get why other 13 year olds listen to rap/pop, I love this music

  • I'm a Modern Kemetic Witch and I'm proud. :)

  • Hmm I stopped trying to sooth people's jittery nerves when i describe who i am i am a Witch not wiccan i refuse to use the term but will inform them to the difference witches do good we will protect ourselves when needed is this any different then a person who is in the Military,a police officer, a homeowner trying to protect their loved ones?? people really have nothing to fear from a witch who wisely uses their gifts.

  • tis is one of the best pagan/witch/wiccan song i have found )0(

  • WOOOOOOOOOO!

  • this is so my song!!! hell yea im a witch!!!! and im proud!!! keep the music pagan!!!

  • This is what I want to say to my mother someday.

I don't want to be raised by a closed minded Christian woman who hates her own children.

  • I have a fact anyone who criticizes a pagan/wiccan. 10% of the Air Force is made up of practicing Wiccans/Pagans a high enough % for the Air Force Academy 2 have a spiritual place built on campus. If someone judges the beliefs ask them if they would say the same horrible things 2 an Airman that's willing 2 die for their beliefs. there are more of us then people think about but we dont need the karma people yes i am a witch and will not hide it

  • @chinookkitty

hahaha oh my gosh thats amazing i will use this..i recently got---when u invoke your Gods or Goddesses are you messing with something that you don't know and are going to get hurt.....uuuuggghhhh

  • @OnyxMarigold Yep, for those who don`t know about witchcraft we are ale playing with the supernatural, made a great pact with mister Satan himself and we all owe a ouija board, to talk to demons instead of dead people........

Well i`m relieved to be a witch cause i believe in live and let live........

And about Satan, he and i are the best friends ever, we go out to the bar every other friday ;-)

  • @chinookkitty The important thing is that in our hearts we know what it means to be a Witch and may we stand as an example to others, what Witches really stand for. Honoring the old ways, observing and rejoicing in the seasons, promoting natural living and natural healing. Learning to be in touch with ourselves and knowing our place in the chain of the Divine. I think that is truly beautiful and anyone who thinks otherwise well WHO CARES. The God and Goddess know my Soul )O(

  • @OnyxMarigold I don`t know how it is in the rest of the world, but here in the Netherlands a Witch is also a name you call to women who are bitchy, backstabbing, just not nice lady`s. My husbands son (i knew i had to tell him something, to explain why i`m running around in the backyard in a big dress with full moon) said: "well dad, now you have one who admids she is a witch" hahaha

  • @chinookkitty hahaha oh thats funny!! Yes we must live and let live..we know these things, tolerance is the only way. It's difficult when you keep getting stupid questions, recently upon revealing i am a witch to a group of people one asked me : so can you control men and everything? I'm like...uuuuh no. I'm not sure what most peoples perceptions of what a TRUE WITCH really is..but i know for sure its a warped idea. and yea they do that here to i they may call you a little witch.

  • @OnyxMarigold Wow!! control men!!!! That would be great! No more laundry, no more washing the dishes just a little finger snap and make the male gender do it!!!

Or just two snaps and let it do it all by itselfe. I mostly try to explain in the greater lines: we don`t believe in one god but more, there is not only a god but allso a goddess, so it`s banlanced, usualy i compare it with Yin and Yang, one does not excist without an other. Most people understand that better.

  • @chinookkitty hahah i know right!!! I wish :P i usually do that too..Yin and Yang is a good analogy , I also try to explain that i view the Divinity as an extension of myself of which i am a part of and not less than but not better than :)

  • @chinookkitty Dude, Satan is my boyfriend! :D

We gotta hang out at the bar together one of these days man.. XD

  • @KikyoChanXD OMG He told me about you!!!! He is very in love you know that? He is so crazy about you, he told me if you asked he would turn to Christianity just for you!

Come with him next week to the bar, would be fun! (PS I`m no dude but a girl.....;-) )

    :D:D:D:D

  • @chinookkitty I mean *WOman. ;D

Aww, how sweet. Wonder when he's gonna pop the question. I think I'll ask him to marry me in a church. ;)

I mean, he owns my soul! ...LITERALLY!

    Haha, meetchya there! :D

  • @chinookkitty I wish my wife (of 30 years) would allow herself to be so free as you. I spend ritual time outside alone generally. Though not by choice. She's an arthritic cripple, so weather bothers her terribly.

    Blessed be.

  • This song is my anthem

  • ... The fires burn inside my head... to this witch's tune... now I'm going to be listening to the witch's rune...

  • @Hunlover123601 You can allso use the reply on the question if you curse people: "keep asking me that and you will find out soon!" (try and look scary while saying) allso a ROFL moment guaranteed!!!

    hahaha

  • I like the word "Witch" for myself (and I'm male), but have no problem with "Wiccan" either, though I'm not Gardnerian by any means. But these are needless divisions. Call me a Witch, Wiccan, Goddess Worshipper, Pagan, Neo-Pagan, Neo-Wiccan, all of them work. We must stand together in order to fight societal misconceptions and bigotry, whatever label we use, and whatever our differences may be in approaching our Craft. We're all her children. )O(

  • @jajohnson7809 Blessed Be, brother!

  • i love this witch she says it all and with all the love of the Mother Goddess. Forever Blessed Be! Lady Szorha

  • Wonderful

    Amazing

    Bravo

    Paganism

  • Oh man that was good! Blessed Be!

  • @KiwiDynasty indeed someone who understands lol ive been told pick one or the other my question is why

  • i absolutely love this song, it is so me! Where can I purchase a copy of this haunting beautiful music? Blessed Be!

  • Good song!

It says exactly what I would say when I've become a witch and someone asks me those questions!

  • I'm a Pagan. Just a Paga.n at the moment. But I'm studying witchcraft. I have a LONG way to go before I can call myself a witch. x]

But anyways, this song is so amazing. It gave me energy. XDD

  • I really like this. I am witch, not wiccan. Witch. and proud of it. I've always felt uncomfortable with Wicca as if it were Gerald Gardner's pet project and embued with his personality too much. Witch is cleaner and better.

  • @moonmyst532 Yeah. I'm kind of tired of people getting Wicca and Witchcraft mixed up. People forget the Witchcraft is a practice, and Wicca is a religion....

  • I grew up in a christian household but I am descended from witches and wiccans myself. I practice on major festivals and I practice magic at any opportunity. I have strong affinities and this song really speaks to me. Thanks for posting it and blessed be

  • When i tell people i`m a witch, first question i get is : "what is it that you do then? "

People still think being a witch is flying circles `round the church tower at midnight by full moon.

luckely being a witch is something you can tell now, without getting killed.

    I`m proud being a witch,

Not like the song, what i am but it`s WHO i am.

  • WOW!

  • I listened to this song once and the energy in my house went way up! I loved it! And like sorcress18 I'd like to know where to get this song.

    )O(

  • I call myself a witch but am not a Wiccan. I think of myself as more of a Pagan, in general. You don't need to be a Wiccan to be a witch. (I actually sent an email to the MySpace peoples to let you put whatever you want under Religion, because all they have is Wiccan.)

Anywho, great song. Her voice is soothing.

  • Many of the old-school witches of the 1960s and 1970s risked an awful lot to reclaim the word "Witch" - by separating it from "Wicca" it is falling into dualistic thinking that the "religious" word is somehow more noble, and the "magical" word is somehow "lower" or "less" noble. Dualism is for Christians. Be whole. Create no false divisions where none exist. This is part of the Craft too.

  • "Why do you call yourself a Witch and talk of Witchcraft openly - Wicca's a nice disguise to use when you're in mixed company - I call myself a Witch because there's power in the word - there's power in the truth about what we really feel and who we really are"

  • <3 <3 <3 <3 how often do you see a thirteen year old boy listening to anything other than rap/pop/rock/screamo ... etc, do i need to go on? WOOT!

     GO KEEPMUSICPAGAN! XD

  • @popcornis2salty heh, at 13 i listened to non of that :P

  • Good!

  • this is so empowering

  • I know the feeling! Blessed Be!

    )O(

  • Given that there seems to be a strongly pro-Celtic bias in the world of Witchcraft these days, I'd like to start a Society for the Prevention of Witchcraft being called Celtic!

The Gaelic-speaking people/Celts had their own word for people who worked magic: Druids.

  • And just for the record: I've been on this path for (as of Ostara 2009) 20 years. I am not new to this.

Also, before anyone asks: the reason it is important to cite Isadora's accomplishments in German studies is because "wicce/wicca" and "witch" come to the English language via Old English/Anglo-Saxon. It is NOT a Celtic word. The Anglo-Saxons were a Germanic tribe who started invading Britain shortly after the Romans left, and they brought with them words like "wicce/wicca."

  • When one studies the history of the language, it is clear that the word Witch is the proper modern word to use for both the religion and the practice. Most people don't bother to do that, however. I believe it was Scott Cunningham who *really* started using the word "Wiccan" instead of "Witch", in the late 1980s.

  • Don't miss the point of the song: she's a Witch, not a Wiccan. Lady Isadora is actually very firm on this point. One of Isadoras specialties is the studious pursuit of the Celtic and Germanic branches of the Indo-European language family tree. While at university, she was inducted into Delta Phi Alpha, the National German Honor Society in the United States, having won a number of academic awards in that language, including two from the German government.

    Lady Isadora is no fluff.

  • Lady Isadora also started the Society for the Prevention of Witchcraft being called Wicca. It's on her webpage. She actually means it, for all the silliness of the Society's name. She does not separate Witchcraft from Wicca and definitely prefers the word Witch to Wiccan.

Most of the "old schoolers" like Lady Isadora, Herman Slater, Sybil Leek, Starhawk, Ray Buckland, the late Dr. Leo Louis Martello, Janet & the late Stewart Farrarr all preferred to use the word Witch to Wiccan.

  • I think Yngwie Malmsteen played on this track.

  • I know lol...

  • love the lyrics, but must comment on one of them: the part about dressing in black. it's not that i'm saying u can't wear black, but u don't have to in order to join the wiccan faith. it's one thing if u just like the color, but don't turn my religion into some silly fashion statement by saying it's required. same goes for the pentacle, which is indeed a holy symbol of our faith, but u still aren't required to wear one to be wiccan. sorry. mild pet peeve of mine.

  • witchcraft and wicca are two totally different things wicca is our religion witchcraft is our practise are you both too? oh and i totally agree i choose to wear black personally because i find it a very grounding colour im also a goth yes, that sounds bad but i explain on my channel sorrt....waffling on blessed be )0(
  • it's ok if ur goth, so is my boyfriend, actually. i wasn't actually trying to say that it's bad to wear black or to be goth, just that it in no way ties in with the religion. sorry if i made u feel bad. i didn't mean to. i was just saying.

  • no its okay i just meant that alot of wiccans are actually goth

    most goths are deeply religious

    goth is an alternative culture

    wicca is an alternative religion

although the goths were a germanic christian group that came in the edwardian times........shhhhhh

  • already knew about the germanic goths, i'm a bit of a history buff. anyways, here's the thing: many wiccans may be goth, but not all goths are wiccan. there's no denying they are two separate groups. it's perfectly ok imo to be both, as long as u can distinguish between the two so our religion doesn't get turned into a stereotype, as it's kinda hard for anyone in any movement, be it religious, political, or social, to have their voice heard by others when they're boxed into one. make sense?

  • thats exactly what i was trying to say hun

its hard enough getting on with one thing

    never mind a load

    blessed be hun)0(

  • blessed be to u too sweetie.

  • It is a mistake to separate Wicca from Witchcraft. That's asking for trouble.

  • @autumnrayne9

    Why do you think that?

Personally I see it as a good thing

  • You have to look very far down the line of generations and the possibilities our descendants could face if Wicca and Witchcraft are divorced from each other.

Protestants and Catholics are both Christians, right? Well, for quite a long time, you'd never know that from watching what was going on in Northern Ireland, would you?

Don't let it get to that point. Don't give anyone (such as a nation's legal authorities) even the slightest opportunity...

  • ...to discriminate against the "practice of Witchcraft" but not against the "religion of Wicca." It's fairly easy to ensure that one's religious rights are protected, but one's magical practices? Not so much; we still live in a world where a lot of people are completely terrified by the word "witchcraft." Look at what is happening in South Africa right now - people are being accused of witchcraft and are suffering some dire consequences indeed. No BS.

  • Besides, the word "wicca" came first, many centuries ago, but the proper contemporary English word for both the religious path and magical practice is "witch" anyway. "Wicca" is a very old Anglo-Saxon word, and the language *has* evolved over time, leading to our modern word "witch."

  • Remember, part of the point of this song is that Lady Isadora is a WITCH, not a WICCAN. She's very insistent on that point. She does not call herself a Wiccan. She really doesn't like use of the word "Wicca" much at all. Listen closely to the last verse of the song.

  • I live in a house full of Christians so I have no choice but to use the word "Wiccan" to describe what I am. Despite that I see myself as a witch. Part of my reasoning for it is the blood flowing through my veins. I'm descended from witches on my mothers side. I've thought many times of telling her what runs in her veins and the veins of her children, but I never have. This song speaks to me on a level no other song does.

    )O(

  • I love the lyrics...but don't really care for the song, still good though.

  • great

  • I'd love to see some more of her!
