  • What epizode????

  • @Figewtonofd00m D´oh! It where Anglos and Saxons. The Saxons lived in germany. The Anglos not.

  • @TommybartBeck

Not correct, both Saxons and Angles migrated from territories that are in todays Germany, and their language was Germanic.

If you want to split hair neither Angles nor Saxons lived in Germany, since no country with such a name existed back then ;)

  • @TommybartBeck

Angeln (where the Anglos come from) is a region in Schleswig-Holstein (in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg, to be precise).

Schleswig-Holstein is one of the 16 states of Germany.

  • There's nothing wrong with German, but you could've at least put "Die" in the title or "(Deutsch)" afterwards. We occasionally spell it "Josef" in English as well.

  • HITLERCORE!!!! WAS IST HIER LOS!!! REDET MA DEUTSCH HIER! KAPIER NICHTS!

  • @AntiRaucher95 Because there German. There are other languages besides English ya know.

  • English:

Grampa: I would like to name the following friends of mine as members of the Communist party.

Man: You're just here to test the microphone.

Grampa: Fred Wilson, my brother Bill, Dom DiMaggio, the paper boy, Howdy Doody, Josef Stalin

  • Uhm... im not even kidding all i can make out is "Nazis" " Die English" "Russian" "Terror"... jesus, its been like 70 years since WW2 and they STILL hate everyone. No but seriously, calm the fuck down German's, obviously if its the same spelling and different language we're going to say something.

  • Every country has ignorant people most of you are ignorant because your arguing about

    Ignorance

  • was was!? inglische bitte muttefucker! lol

  • @Q8379 We actually spell Stalin's name as Josef also... the way its meant to be spelt.

  • @Q8379

No, germans are easy to troll because their language is stupid and their society is servile. Germans ruined Europe twice, allowing a redneck town called the USA to become a superpower

  • ich bein ein berliner

  • @SUpersaiyajinjerkbag german is a VERY important language dumbass

without egrman you wouldnt be speaking ENGLISH

in fact i think you should learn about ENGLISH history

did you know that ENGLISH came from The UK and NOT from the USA :O

  • Comment removed

  • anyone can translate what he is saying, please ?

  • I learned German as my second language, out of respect for my heritage. But every time.... EVERY time I come across German folks, they insist I speak in English, regardless of what they think of how my German in spoken, either in the US or Germany.

But other people in the US, whose languages are Hmong, Spanish, Russian, whatever, languages I don't have the time to learn (nor do I wish to, too hard), they barely speak English at all.

I'm at a loss here. I was born to speak English in the USA.

  • @TheSonicGod What state do you live in??

  • wtf?

  • facepalm. Yet another dubbed Simpsons video.

  • welche folge ?!

  • @CptQuestionMark well, the title is made of two Names so it's German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Latin and pretty much all languages...

  • @Q8379

Mark Twain said, that it sounds like english but more peaceful and cherrish

  • Joseph. Joseph Stalin.

  • Christ I wish it'd say (DEU) in the title or summat

  • @ekmad

do americans put (ENG) in the title of every simpsons video?

  • @Osterochse That's a ridiculous idea since, ya know, they made the fucking thing.

  • @hipp6y

may i ask you what "fucking" thing you mean?

  • @Osterochse I mean "The(fucking) Simpsons", duh. It's quite ridiculous to make someone put a language indication when the language has not been changed/dubbed over, it's in original form. Clear enough for you?

On the other hand, when people post a dubbed-over clip and fail to post any language indication- that's annoying, no matter what the original language was.

  • Kalinka by Evgeny Belyaev sent me here LOL

  • lol!! The canadian anthem sent me here lol!

  • @dermagier82 Genau, Deutsch klingt unheimlich "elegant", besonders in Polen, Jugoslawien, Norditalien, Griechenland...........

  • @jessasnamoi Du hast mich falsch verstanden.

  • @dermagier82 Amen...

  • @dermagier82 i like english, it's a very practical language, so much literature, films and music, and people to talk to... and argue. i was learning german in school for ten years, but there's just no use for it now or any other language. anyway it's not the english people who complain but THE people.

  • @dermagier82 genau...scheiß auf englisch, von wegen weltsprache...

  • @AMCScarface

  • @MareInTheMoon

    Vl.will ers auch einfach net?

  • @dermagier82 Agreed, it's pretty dumb of people to hate on something just because it isn't english... but don't think that ALL the english-speaking world is like that!

  • @thenewclement probably you're right!

  • @thenewclement The most ingorant thing is than germans think that all world must speak they language, to understand them. I dont speak perfect english, Im not native speaker but I learn english only from watching english cartoons as the kid without school. :P

  • @MrDrattius The same could be said for the French and the ignorant Americans.

  • @MrDrattius I'm German and I do not think that the rest of the world should be able to understand our language! Nevertheless it is an important language...

By the way: the Americans and French are, in my opinion, the most ignorant people in this case!

  • @Bl4ckM4trix Not all Americans are ignorant. It's mostly the people in power and the Southern "WE SAVED YER ASS IN WW2!" bible-thumpers. I do agree, however, that German is an important language; as it is the language that influenced English, my lanuage, the most.

  • @Fignewtonofd00m

"influenced" is a funny way to phrase it^^

The English language arose from German, it was north German tribes (Anglo Saxons) that invaded the British Island and replaced the former spoken language here (Welsh or something, not sure) with a German dialect that would become English.

Thats why "English" is categorized as a "Germanic" language, like Scandinavian languages, Dutch & German.

Still, everybody should learn English, German is not that important.

    lg jon

  • @Jonathanizer Hey, Welsh is still spoken, not formerly spoken. There are over half a million of us Welsh speakers left!

  • @Derwydd3

I didnt say Welsh is a dead language, by "it was replaced" i meant it was replaced as the major language which was formerly spoken all over the British Islands. No disrespect intended. Now its a minority language. Greetings, Jon.

  • @Jonathanizer Okay. My mistake. I'll so used to people making that mistake that I tend to overeact. What you have said is in fact true.

    Fendithion i chi/Blessings to you.

  • @Derwydd3

Oh dont worry you didnt overreact. Half the people here insult each other, your post was moderate and completely okay :) My phrasing was not clear, good we took care of that now.

Fendithion i chi / Alles Gute / Blessings to you!

  • @Jonathanizer The Celtic languages, I believe were the formerly spoken ones.

  • @Jonathanizer LOL Modern English has lots of French in it... you can thank the Normans for that.

  • @KronnangDunn but it's still a GERMANIC language. And for the record British English retains more Norman influence than American English

  • @JdmTheMilitaryMan Yeah, American English has also lots of Greek, Russian, Chinese, Spanish and lots and lots of other influences from the different immigrants that have arrived there since the 19th century. The United States is chock full of immigrants.

  • @Jonathanizer Oh, aber ich begge zu differn.

    More people should learn German.

After all, we have the second-largest amount of Wikipedia pages.

  • @Atvishees

    englischen Satz gesteckt.

  • @Jonathanizer paranoic asshole

  • @KronnangDunn So? Are you trying to contradict me? Or agreeing but trying to add some info? I actually dont know what you are trying to say.

@Atvishees "We have the second-largest amount of Wikipedia pages?"

    1. Was meinst du mit "We", Wiki gehört jedem, egal welche Sprache.

    2. Ich kapier nicht was das für ein Argument sein soll, alle relevanten Seiten gibts auch auf Englisch, meist besser, da bringt es einem absolut garnichts deutsch zu lernen.

    @RRapDiss Ooooooh^^

  • @Jonathanizer Well it didnt really arise from "German" did it, the country of Germany or indeed the concept of Germany didnt exist at that time and they did not speak anything like the German language that is spoken today. I agree that both languages come from the same Germanic base but thats vastly different from a base of what we know as modern day Germany and its language

  • @Hallerz212

Did I say anything that contradicts your explanations? Of course modern Germany isnt the same as the loose collections of medieval tribes back then. So? Still the people who brought the (at that time) new language to the island came from where Germany is today, and English & German are very similar.

    @Unbiter

  • @Jonathanizer Don't forget the french norman influence on english. The english crown spoke french exclusivley for a major part of the medieval period. Richard the lionheart didn't speak a word of saxon english. It was only due to the black plague killing so many influential normans that saxon english got its foot back in the door, though ultimately changed by french influences.

  • @Jonathanizer english actually has a ton of influence from the romantic languages as well, especially french and spanish (italian not so much) as well as german.

  • @fergie123able

    @Snotlingfondler

I dont forget any other influence. Of course there is a lot of roman language influence in all European languages because latin was the language of the church and sciences for a long time. But this influence cant compare with the significance of the germanic roots of English, over 90% of the words in modern English correspond with the translation in German.

word - wort, long - lang, all - alle, influence - einfluss ... and so on.

  • @Jonathanizer You only got half you history right. After the Norman Invasion, the Normans forced the British to speak French. English faded in memory and was lost. Only when the British started to rebel against their Norman oppressors did English gain resurgence, but only as a bastard language mixed with many French slang words. Today, there are far more French influence in modern English than German.

  • @jackdeath

Sorry, but thats nonsense. I speak English, French and German, and while English and German are very similar and French has some overlap with both German and English, French is the one language of these three thats different. Trust me.

You can also see this is true because (not me but linguists) categorize both English and German as "Germanic" languages. Look it up, its the actual term. French is a "Roman" language and more similar to Spanish, Italian and Roumanian.

  • @Jonathanizer If you had an argument, then you seem to have lost it. All you did was assert that French is different from English. Well, of course, it is.

After the Norman Conquest, the English Language borrowed heavily from the Norman-French, and vocabulary and spelling conventions began to give the superficial appearance of a close relationship with Romance languages to what had now become Middle English. Modern English retains far more the Norman-French than Anglo Saxon-German.

  • @jackdeath

You can claim whatever you want, it doesnt make it true. I could now repeat what I wrote before, but since you didnt seem to care for facts the first time I wrote it, why bother. You dont have to trust my personal knowledge on this, just get a little education on linguistics in general and you'll see what you write there is pretty much distorted nonsense.

    Stay in school buddy.

  • @Jonathanizer Let me guess, you’re a troll, right...?

You know that second paragraph I wrote in my second post? I cribbed that from a book on the history of the English Language from an Oxford University Professor who did a famed documentary on the subject for BBC. You can find a video of it here on YouTube.

    Can you say PWNED!

Next time you want to spout nonsense and repeat trite myths about the English Language, do some real research and don’t pull it out of your ass, asshole!

  • @jackdeath

    First, watch your manners kiddo.

Then, if French and English is closer than German and English - something that everyone with advanced skills in all three these languages will tell you is not true - why then is English and German categorized as Germanic language, and French a whole other category? "superficial appearance"?^^ I dont know if the famed professor has any motives beyond revealing facts, but this surely seems to be the case with you.

  • @Jonathanizer You obviously need a lesson in English History. Less than 5,000 words from Old English (Anglo-Saxon) are still in use today as compared to 7 times as many from Middle English (Norman-French) words.

Here is a YouTube link on a short history of the English Language from Grammar Spice:

    watch?v=v_Y_Z5Ab6y4

Learn something before posting anything else. I am getting sick and tired of dealing with anymore of your nonsense.

  • @jackdeath

Why would I waste my time klicking on some dubious youtube-vid links when you with your acclaimed advanced education on this topic cant even answer a simple question?

All you do is post fairy tales as if they were facts, ignore arguments and then start with the personal attacks, as if you can convince me you're right by calling me "troll" or "asshole". The one who needs a lesson (in something much more general than linguistics) is you.

Btw do you even speak French & German?

  • @Jonathanizer I don't deal in non-sequiturs or suffer nonsense from fools who pose rhetorical questions and don't know when their shit stinks. If you ever had anything intelligent to say, then you long since passed that point, and I would advise you to stop posting your ignorance for everyone to see here. And if, finally, you feel offended by my referring to you as a “troll” and an “asshole”, then that is naturally because you proven these insults prescient, and are deserving of them.

  • @jackdeath

    OK, so in conclusion:

You dont speak foreign languages, but claim to know more about them than people who actually speak them. You cant answer a simple question that debunks your whole whacky theory and your only argument is insulting the person you are argueing against. And of course that insult is proven to be true by... nothing, but who cares, you know nobody except the both of us is reading this. Bravo, now you're the only person in the world who agrees with jackdeath.

  • @Jonathanizer Wow! You are now propping up strawmen. Did you grow it yourself?

Why don't you look at the 'Story of English Episode 2' on YouTube and learn the truth I have been telling you. What are you afraid to find? That you have been making a complete ass of yourself? Oh! Too late, you have already done that!

Or will you make another appeal from authority. You seem to be living under the delusion that speaking more than one language gives you more insight into English. I disagree.

  • @jackdeath Oh! And I love the fallacy that my answering your rhetorical question will somehow prove your fanciful delusions correct. You truly don’t disappoint in abandoning all reason for obtuse nonsense, while making lame assertion about my veracity and refusing to look at the sources I have given you.

This, of course, is made more comical by your appeals to authority based on personal subjective belief rather than evidence. And then you wonder why I call you a 'Troll' and 'Asshole'. Really?

  • @jackdeath

List of stupidities I have to correct:

    1. I dont wonder that you would call me "troll" or "asshole". Where did I say that? Thats just your imagination. Talk about strawmen. I wouldnt wonder about any kind of insult, because weak keyboardheros use the anonymity of the internet to resort to this kind of argument al the time.

    2. Your claims I would look silly or I have delusions are useless. This is not a panel discussion, its only the two of us reading and writing here.

  • @Jonathanizer All of this is total nonsense designed to avoid and filibuster your rightful pwnage by yours trurely, jackdeath.

  • @jackdeath

    -2-

You have to be aware of that, and still you are wasting my and your time with this rhetorical tactics. Even if accedentially a third person reads this, they must be pretty impressionable that your words will make a difference, probably a young child or a retarded person would fall for that. This level of polemics hints to the fact that you are probably not very intelligent. This adds up with all the other hints, eg your repeated use of swearwords.

  • @Jonathanizer I think the boy is confused. First, he asserts that no one but us are reading these post, now he conflates his family of retarded and mental ill reprobates looking in. Which is it Jon? Or are you just projecting some more troll sauce my way.

If I had know that you where of such a frail gentile mind, then I might have avoided using swear words in front of such a Cognitive dissonance freak. But, now that the bridge is burned…it's too good to pass up calling a spade an asshole.

  • @jackdeath

    -3-

    3. So you seem not to bright and okay with wasting other peoples time. And you wonder why I would watch your youtube recommendations?

I tell you something, I recently had a discussion with a guy much like you. He had a weird theory, much like you. His theory was that global climate change doesnt exist and is made up by climate scientists so that politics will fund their research. He didnt have any proof or coherent argument, much like you.

  • @Jonathanizer Project much, Jon? Isn't that what you trolls do by wasting peoples time on pure nonsense? You avoidance and refusal to accept the truth is not my problem, but it shows how obtuse you are when the answer to the question you seek are right in front of you and you refuse a look. I even cribbed a quote from an Oxford Professor of English to support my point, and all that proved was how obstinate you are to facts.

But, thanks for informing me you have a history of being an asshole.

  • @jackdeath

    -4-

He had no real education on that topic, much like you. He choose to ignore questions and arguments that would debunk his theory, much like you. He resortet to namecalling and polemic pseudo-intellectual phrasings, much like you. He thought I embarassed myself, much like you. So like you he had no working arguments, no real education, and the majority of the scientific field against him. Much like you. But he claimed he had a valid source for his theory, a youtube-vid...

  • @Jonathanizer First, before debunking anyone, you need to know something about the subject, which you proved quite aptly to know nothing about. Moreover, as I only recited facts from a book on the history of the English language, there is not much you can do to dispute facts, so what point would there be in answering rhetorical questions from an asshole?

I see you still have issues. Maybe you should tell them to your shrink, because I don't give a damn about your mental health.

  • @jackdeath

    -5

...much like you. So I already knew, this guy isnt very bright, ignores facts if it pleases him, ignores the scientists of the field in question, ignores arguments but still feels very confident in his point, so I'm gonna be the one to keep it open minded and watch his Anti-Global-Climate-Change video. Like expected, in the vid a lobbyist of big indutry (an engineer) railed with science fragments and wannabe arguments against the "theory" of climate change.

  • @Jonathanizer People ignore you is because you spout nonsense in the form of non-sequiturs followed by sprouting up the convenient strawman when it suits you. That’s not how anyone expect to be taken seriously, leaveing the impression that you're either a ‘Troll’ or an ‘Asshole’. You were so insistent that you were right without evidence that when I refused to play your Socratic games, somehow you thought that was enough to win a argument, only proving you were both a ‘Troll’ and an ‘Asshole’.

  • @jackdeath

    -6-

The vid was so predictably transparent and dull, a total waste of time. Since you seem to share all the qualities with that Anti-Climate-Change enthusiast, including willingness to waste my time, why would I deliberatly take part in this?

You cant answer question why linguistist categorize English and German toghether, and French not, you dont even speak the three languages in question, but still you want to lecture me on the topic and tell me which vids to watch?^^

  • @Jonathanizer I can give you sources from all over the internet and there are books you can find in any English library that will confirm what you dubbed my *theory*. Ah, but you missed a great video on YouTube "The History of the English Language Episode 2 - Mother Tongue" is really all about the influence of the Anglo Saxon dialect in modern English. They even put forward one scholar's theory that challenges the widely held view of Norman-French suppressing the written word. Too bad for you.

    4. You dont get to decide whether it helps or not to actually know languages to compare them. You compare English, French and German, and you dont think you have to know the languages to compare them? Its a delusion to think that?

You only say that because you dont speak the languages and are afraid this weakens your point (which it does btw). If you would speak the languages you would never say something this ignorant and stupid.

  • @Jonathanizer I did not conflate any of these languages. You did that all by yourself, then you projected something about how I needed to see English from your point of view. Pure nonsense! While knowing other languages will broaden ones horizons, it does not change the fact there are more words in Modern English from the Norman-French than Anglo-Saxon, and there is nothing you can say will change that. You may have the right to your own opinions but you do not have a right to your own facts.

  • @jackdeath Please shut the fuck up, no-one wants to have to read this shit, it's all totally irrelevant and no-one cares...

  • @spackhollogay It wasn't meant for you, it was meant for an asshole who thinks his shit doesn't stink. Don't worry about it.

  • @jackdeath

blah blah blah, again a lot of words and little content, you repeat your nonesense as "facts", you claim I'm uneducated on the topic and your sources are valid, all repetition, no new arguments to counter any of my points (or opinions as you call them). Lame. And then of course again the desperation move you are so good in, resorting to personal insults. I'm officially bored and convinced, there's nothing you narrow minded guy can tell me, not even funny anymore. Goodbye.

  • @Jonathanizer Hast du ein Problem? Entspann Dich, das Arschloch.

  • @jackdeath

haha, grammar & spelling fail, google translator isnt that good yet I guess ;)

  • @Jonathanizer Oh! Did you mean, "Ha ha! Your grammar and spelling failed. I am guessing Google translator isn't good enough, yet."

Nice try, but you guessed wrong.

  • @Fignewtonofd00m

People in the north say that just as much as they do in the south, dipshit. "Bible thumping" has nothing to do with it.

  • @Verbeke7 I've only ever heard that in the South from said "Bible Thumpers". You must understand that I was making a generalization. People tend to do that. You must be socially retarded or something. I can see by your lack of decorum and your use of vulgar language that you are childish in nature and there's no sense trying to reason with you. I bid you good day, sir Socially Awkward Repressed Teenager.

    P.S. Youmad

  • @Fignewtonofd00m

Oh shit, well if you claim you've only heard it down in the Bible thumping South, it must be true, dipshit.

  • @Verbeke7 You seem to be quite obsessed with dipping shit. You need mental help. Have you ever been to a psychologist? I assume you also live in America and since you said that it happens in the North too you must live in the North. Look up Cheryl Gerson in New York. I heard she works wonders. In fact, you seem obsessed with shit in general. Are you, by chance, a scatophile?

  • @MrDrattius Nice. To learn any language without any school is really hard.

  • @AeroAtlas I watch Cartoon Network in english as the kid from SatTV. :P

  • @dermagier82

  • @Q8379

I suppose, you mean that ironically....

  • @insertnamehere001 Well, in german it is. And as this video IS in german, the name is spelled correctly.

  • @Q8379

that is funny, because german is much more complicated than english :)

  • pretty sure that's not how you spell joseph

  • the credits seem so serve as subtitles for what the characters are saying.. LOL

  • Ich bin ein berliner!

  • @Q8379 it´s german ._.

  • All i heard was "Hitler,Hitler,Hitler,Hitler,Nazi,Nazi,Nazi"

  • @9mizzle All I read was: "Stupid, stupid, stupid, jerk, jerk, jerk".

  • @frankstrawnation that's because your spanish and you don't understand english properly. now piss off and cook some tapas and fight a bull, you salsa dancing shit stain
