まだ10代だった1968年にグループ・サウンズのひとりとして東京でプロ・デビューを果たしたので、日本は第二の故郷のような気がしています。ですから、その最愛の国、日本を襲った先日の大地震と津波による惨状には大きな衝撃を受けると同時に深く心を痛めています。日本にいる沢山の友達のこともずっと気になって いましたが、これまでのところ、皆、無事だということが分かりました。ここ何週にも亘り、ひとりひとりに連絡を取っていたのです。今回の大惨事で亡くなった大勢の方々には心からのお悔やみを申し上げます。ただひとつの救いがあるとすれば、日本ならこの悲劇を乗り越え、復興し、今まで以上に強い国になれるということです。日本人の性格、組織力を見ればそれは明らかです。愛と尊敬を込めて。

You know, this was a lot of fun, Alan did a great job and it raised money for Japanese Tsunami Victims, through the Red Cross.
