@WilleWallinHerrdin Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM is the best i would say for video, i only like nikon but i have some knowledge of canon. this is pricey i would assume but if it is at all possible buy this one, do NOT scrimp on lenses, take good care and they will outlast your camera bodies 2-3 times through. i guess the Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS could be a cheaper alternative..

@WilleWallinHerrdin To be honest, its all dependent on wether you are on a budget or not, and you should get at least 1 zoom and 1 prime. I suggest the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 (or f/1.4 USM if you have deeper pockets) and a wide angle zoom, such as the 16-35mm f/2.8L USM(expensive... 2000$), 17-40mm f/4L USM(800$) and if you are in an APS-C camera, the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5 USM
