Also, cac offered the gvnmnt a lowball offer on them (20 million) but I hope they auction them out

  • hey does anybody whether or not the ultra high relief double eagle in palladium will be coming out or has it already came out? If not, when is the date?

  • i need help i think i got a copy or something of this coin.because my is from 1933.and on the other side its written 2005.i cant find some in the i net of these coin.can sombody help me.maybe i got a lil bit luck and its gold.

  • @momo187able No it's fake

  • i wish i could edit my videos like him...

  • Your vids are so amazing!

What is the actual size of the $20 st gaudens coin? I have one and its smaller than an american dime. Quite tiny. It has everything you mentioned in the video though.

  • @Thesethlans the one that is smaller than a dime is 1 dollar face value. If it is gold is is less than 1/10th of an ounce and is worth about $150-$300 depending on which series, and date, and grade. The $20 saint gaudens in this video contiain .967 ounces of gold. Almost an entire ounce which values them at $1450 - $2000. You don't have a $20 saint gaudens if it is smaller than a dime.

  • @xler81313 Thank you for replying. Yes mine is smaller than a dime and it does say 22k gold on it. I need to check the series, date and grade tonight .

  • I realllly want a ipod touch for christmas .... :(

Are you going to pull a video on this subject..?

I will say it again, this episode is really well produced, and very interesting.

  • Mr Apsolon, I love the history lesson here, you really reveal the background of these coins and why some are now very valuable.

    Stunning close-ups.

    Really well produced, lovely.

  • will their be a cnotest on this video too lol..... anyway cool video!!!!! I NEED 1 HAWAII (and all 2009) QUARTER AND ILL HAVE ALL OF THEM

  • Read about the 1933 Double Gold Eagle.

It is the rarest and most valuable coin in the world.

    Who owns it?

    No 1 knows.

It was sold in a private auction after our government confiscated it.

It was also moved from the WTC in NY just a couple months before 9/11 & taken to Ft Knox. Then it was brought back to NY to be sold at a private auction to an anonymous bidder.

Why was it moved before 9/11?

    Why was the auction private?

Who was the bidder than wishes to remain anon?

    The world may never know.

  • Did I mention your sexy and smart.

  • Watch out Mr Apsolon, looks like you are picking up a little love interest here..!

  • Nah, I'm just kissing up to him so maybe he'll give me an Ipod touch too. The 40,000 subscribers contest has just begun and the prizes are getting even better now!

  • Well some one thumbed this down, I have set it straight again..

Marks a generous guy in all sorts of ways, I am sure you will end up with whatever you want.

Just start cutting up those green screens, I am sure the ipod would appear in a flash.

  • I love history, so... cool.

Thanks so much for these cool videos.

And you look great in that costume!

Mark Apsolon your the best thing on You tube!

    Ever keep it up!

  • It's cool that his vision for the coin finally came to light with the aid of modern technology.

Also, what's the significance of the olive branch? Time to head over to wikipedia I guess...

  • Its available to YOU. Its available to ME. So..."it's available to YOU and ME". Not "you and I". This is the most annoying grammatical error in existence. Love your videos anyway. ;-)

  • cool new hat please

  • I know...free gold coins for the next contest winners. Plus a finders fee for the guy that come up with the idea!

  • 31st comment

  • mikma was here

  • ok I give to you mark you really know your coins. lol WOW

  • Sweet Video!!

  • I love your video but I had a very bad experience with Southern Coin Company and I am not the only one. I do recommend APMEX for bullion but I would be very careful buying any numismatic material from them.

  • I'm glad you like the videos but I think you are confusing "Southern Coin Company" with "Southern Coin & Collectibles" The guys at Southern Coin and Collectibles" are great and they are my local shop that I visit in person all the time. I do not know which about the other "Southern Coin Company "but thanks for the heads up. As for Apmex I have never had any problems with them on bullion or numismatic coins. All my slabs from them are great!

  • Nope, it is them. I called them Company by accident., I had a deal with them and it was not a good experience. I will leave it at that. As for APMEX slabs, I could email some pictures of slabs from them that would make you cringe. Overall, I have been happy with them but stick mostly to bullion.

  • I have to disagree with you on Southern Coin and Collectibles. They have always been great with me. I have always tested dealers two to three times before I make a verdict on them and both apmex and southern coin and collectibles passed with flying colors. Never had a single problem with any apmex slabs either and I have been dealing with them for over 2 years. Now I can name several coin shops and companies that did not pass any or just some of my testing.

  • Fair enough. I will add that if you are not subscribed to greysheet, it is well worth it to assure yourself of getting the best prices on coins. I have found that generally Apmex prices are a little high on many slabs compared to some other dealers.

  • The greysheet is a great one to have but considering there are around 7 different sources for pricing..lol Most buyers want the wholesale price and if you sell you want the coinvalues price..lol. You have to find the price in between. btw have you looked at the price of double eagles over at HA during this weekends auction! it is crazy! (I found myself in a bidding war way & I mean way over my budget for a 1907 64) I think the auctions are going to push prices up plus gold over a grand

  • Honestly I have never even registered for HA and certified coins are not really my thing. I prefer to work with dealers or will sell most of material at or below greysheet bid. So I buy what they have available. I did buy a lot of bullion from Apmex last year when it was hard to find. I also like Tulving, Silvertowne and Sunshine for bullion. For coins I will mention one dealer who can be very good and that is Gainsville Coins in Florida. Check out the certified coins on their website.

  • should read: work with dealers who sell most of their material at or below greysheet bid.

  • You heard what happen to Gainsville coins right? They really have no inventory anymore because most of it was from National Gold Exchange which had its 35 million dollar loan recalled. That Baltimore bank seized them all.

  • Nope, never heard about that. I buy mostly bullion from them and never had a problem.
