@puju 234 The Russian army is badly underfunded. Back in 2006 the defence minister said only 20% of it's airforce could perform combat duties due to lack of funds. It received a 10billion increase since then that jumped readiness to 33% but it's still in no shape to fight a war. It took a 1:1 ratio against the Georgian police force and a 2:1 ratio against the Georgian army- suffering more loses than they had inflicted.

Germany cant do more.. you know why ? Because France,England,USA and Russia wanted Germany to reduce thier number of troops. They were scared we could become a thread again. That was the price for our reunification. And maybe you should read the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany. Its not that easy you may think, to send troops into action since WW2 my young friend.
I know Germany has a limit of around 100,000 - is that right? But Germany can to a lot more with the troops it already has. Proportionally Britain's contributing more troops than Germany. Yes you're going to have less troops when it is equal but it's not PROPORTIONALLY equal now.
But i am actually against NATO existing anyway. NATO should have been dismantled when the USSR collapsed - that was it's 'raison d'etre'.

No Germany has about 250.000 Soldiers right now. But the Two Plus Four Agreement from 1990 allows up to 345.000 totally. And there is a rub in it... Germany still has a general conscription. You cant compare our readiness for duty with GB or the USA.
Well, if you've got a bigger army you should be able to contribute more than Britain. We've got 8,000 troops in Afghanistan out of 140,000 troops in the British Army. Germany have got about 4,500 out of 360,000? That is a parliamentary limit, not to do with the ableness of the German Army to fight.
Sorry youre wrong again. Germany has 250.000 Soldiers right now. (including office worker,cooks and so on) A big part of our army are only draftees !! Their Job is to defend Germany and nothing else. Its is not allowed to send them into a war !
Same with Britain's 140,000 but we're still able to send more troops than any other European NATO country. And i don't buy the fact that there's more office workers, etc than there is in the British Army. Germany can give more. It's just your politicians don't want to. I'm not blaming the German Army - just your politicians.

About time someone other than the US, British, Canadians and Danes played their equal part. I think countries like France and Germany (always boasting their economic might) want NATO's protection but don't want to protect anyone else. Can you imagine any French troops helping America if she was invaded?
But anyway i think NATO should pull out of Afghanistan. I don't see why we should have to spill British blood so that some villager in Helmand can vote between one dictator and another.

Germany cant do more.. you know why ? Because France,England,USA and Russia wanted Germany to reduce thier number of troops. They were scared we could become a thread again. That was the price for our reunification. And maybe you should read the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany. Its not that easy you may think, to send troops into action since WW2 my young friend.

I know Germany has a limit of around 100,000 - is that right? But Germany can to a lot more with the troops it already has. Proportionally Britain's contributing more troops than Germany. Yes you're going to have less troops when it is equal but it's not PROPORTIONALLY equal now.
But i am actually against NATO existing anyway. NATO should have been dismantled when the USSR collapsed - that was it's 'raison d'etre'.
If only Israel had tougher restrictions on their armed forces though!

No Germany has about 250.000 Soldiers right now. But the Two Plus Four Agreement from 1990 allows up to 345.000 totally. And there is a rub in it... Germany still has a general conscription. You cant compare our readiness for duty with GB or the USA.

Well, if you've got a bigger army you should be able to contribute more than Britain. We've got 8,000 troops in Afghanistan out of 140,000 troops in the British Army. Germany have got about 4,500 out of 360,000? That is a parliamentary limit, not to do with the ableness of the German Army to fight.

Sorry youre wrong again. Germany has 250.000 Soldiers right now. (including office worker,cooks and so on) A big part of our army are only draftees !! Their Job is to defend Germany and nothing else. Its is not allowed to send them into a war !

And i don't buy the fact that there's more office workers, etc than there is in the British Army. Germany can give more. It's just your politicians don't want to. Was viele nicht begreifen wollen ist, dass die NATO im Krieg bestimmte Werte und Verhaltensnormen hat, die den Soldaten vorgeschrieben sind und die sie von anderen Armeen unterscheiden. Der Unterschied zwischen dem Einmarsch der Roten Armee mit einer gegen die Zivilbevölkerung gerichteten Abschreckungsstrategie (bspw. Minen, Exekutionen, falls ich nicht massiv falsch informiert bin) und dem Einsatz der NATO, sollten diese rules of engagement sein.
