  • raggiunti i 193 km!!

  • Did 202km/h since then but no video of that... :(

  • ...downhill, I guess. So this is 1.4litre petrol? I ordered it but I heard it's pretty weak. I don't understand why Peugeot 207 has newer and more powerful 1.4 l but C4 has this slow and fuel eating shit.

  • Also, tell me how reliable is your C4?

  • I have my C4 for about 14 months and never had ANY major mechanichal or electrological problems. Only minor problems with the plastics (which where solved with super-glue! :P) and a few problems with the service crew which charge a lot of money for no work at all (but that may be only in my area). In conclusion, the 1.4 C4 is ABSOLUTELY GREAT for traveling. Low consumption with adequete performance. But if you want a fast car, don't even consider it (even with a better engine) ;)

  • I've had C4 for 3 weeks now. Fuel consumption is 7.6 and when I use clutch to make the car go withouth throttle I can hear rapping from the engine for a moment. Although I think it's not the engine itself but it's hitting something because it's shaking when I do that.

  • The 202 sure was on a downhill! This was on level ground (possibly fair wind since it was kindda windy that night). Yeah, it's the petrol (I don't think there is a 1.4 diesel engine anyway). Peugeot does use a better 1.4 engine but the C4 will get it on the Facelift of C4 which is available now. But still the previous engine was 90HP and this is 95HP so, no big differences there. Concerning consumption, I'm living in an uphill village and still have 8.2 lt/100km guess it would be less in a city.

  • But is it powerful enough? I'm getting it tomorrow.

As for the 1.4, according to stats the new PSA 1.4 has better torque, moment of inertia and is a second and half faster from 0 to 100kph

  • Depending on the model the measurments took place. The 207 is much lighter than the C4 and it DOES have a better engine as we speak.

"But is it powerful enough?" This is a bit subjective, don't you think? I'm pleased with it's performance but I can only talk about myself. I don't care how long it takes to reach 100km/h. But I'm concerned of the distance it can go with one tank and I'm proud to say that I did 1024 km with ONE FULL tank and still had some when I refilled! :D

  • The thing is that I was considering Renault Clio 1.2 TCE because it has the best engine one the market today, much lower fuel consumption than C4, especially in town but, I was also thinking about Peugeot 207 sw because it still has better engine than C4 and looks better than Clio but I decided for C4 because it's a higher category and it costs as much as these small car. Btw. there is a new 1.6litre engine for C4 and it will do 0 to 100 in just 10 seconds-that's fast. The fastest 1.6 on market

  • ...but it costs hell a lot more.

  • One more thing, How many kilometers have you done?

  • The 1.2 TCE is a turbocharged 1200cc engine... Push it further than normal and it'll fall apart!

The price was also a big factor to why I chose the car too but never really regreted it.

There will be two 1.6 engine versions for the C4, with the more powerful being the 1.6turbo. But still, this will be the ep6dt PSA engine (150HP) and not the ep6dts (175HP) which is on the Peugeot 207 RC. An they both probably cost the same...

At the moment I have ~34.700km

  • I don't think that 1.2 TCE would fall apart I know some happy owners. And I myself pushed it hard when I was testing it. The new Clio is very reliable not like those older Renaults(2001-2005/6) and so are new Peugeots, but C4 is from the older generation and it's more troublemaking car.

  • Still, I think it's pretty stupid to turbocharge a 1.2lt engine... Even a 1.4turbo is not worth it. Renault is still... well... "Renault" to me until they prove themselves otherwise. I trully adore the new Laguna but still... Anyway, it's true that the C4 is getting kindda old (came out on 2004) but that's the reason that it gets facelifted and Citroen still hasn't announced a newer model to "replace" it. On the other hand, it now comes in 4 different types to suit everyone...

  • As I said, C4 is already awaiting but I don't thing that 1.2 TCE is stupid. Great acceleration and great fuel consumption are the reason why it was nominated for award "europan someting" well, google it.
