For really fast solos and stuff I just slow it down with Windows Media Player, and then if you know the guitarist enough, you'll hear patterns beforehand which will help.
Most solos take less than a day to figure out the notes, then another half of that day to play it decently. It really depends...some stuff is really easy, other stuff like Marty Friedman solos are really difficult because of his unorthdoox style of playing.
can you do that in itunes?? i was trying to figure out the solo for in the cage and in the middle he plays really fast so i made up my own lick to cover up the part, i really like to know what he plays in that part, please help
damn i hate tuning down even a little bit cuz of floyd rose...

heres a tip!
sometimes syu's bends arn't done the normal way. he first bends and THEN picks it. you had every thing down except i didn't hear that being done x_x

where have you learned to play things by ear or is it just because you've practised so much?
cause i can only play slow things by ear and the fast things just.. bleh
so yeah do u use some programme to slow it down or is this all by ear and thanks to practise?
