Man I love this song. The synth in the verse sections of the song is what hooked me. Btw, I heard it on slacker.com, not the dancing policeman, lol. Looks like I'm in the minority
@daevablacc I didn't see it through the cop in Malmö either, I've been listening to The Knife since 2004 when I first heard Pass This On, I was browsing my library one day and this came on. I love the whole Deep Cuts album, it's a bit more upbeat than Silent Shout. Their first self-titeled album has some real gems on it too.
@littledevilbikes1 lol.. look an american commenting.. and what does he talk about?.. drugs.. what a surprise. Good job in feeding the stereotyping of americans. Its like, toootally out of context and in no way what so ever said jokingly or in a funny way, the american feels an overwhelming need to share with everyone that he's on drugs... Why don't u just keep it short and try to get ur point across right away. "I do drugs for a living". Save space for others in the comment section. thank u.
Man, I feel so proud of myself. I was watching all those Scandinavian cop videos and the more I listened I was like that REALLY sounds like Karin Dreijer. Amazing song, too!
This song reminds me of one of the best autumns i ever had i my life. When i hear this, i get the feeling, that summertime is over and nights are getting colder...
@spyplane2005....i know right .. the weridest things like that intruduce me to the greatest things around us .. and thats whats so great about life!!!
Ursäkta? DU snackar bara skit, sjukt tung bakom dataskärmen va? Haha så jävla patetisk, säkert en finnig liten snorunge från typ blekinge som ingen bryr sig ett skit om. Tycker synd om dig, helt seriöst. Har jag bett om din åsikt , nej? Har någon bett om din åsikt? Nej. Så håll bara käften nästa gång, stupidfuck.
I fucking love this song, ehm i'm swedish and have great taste in music so don't talk shit about swedish ppl, you have just met the wrong ppl. I heard about the knife when i was about 11 years , i have liked them ever since. I remember that you take my breath away was my favourit song, wierd kid huh? NOPE i was just awsome as a kid, even then i had great taste in music.
That The Knife basically DOMINATES in Sweden, a country which has TONS of great musical bands and artists, with music created in such a small and unpopular genre as electronical music, shows just how bloody talented and good they are.
Unfortunately The Knife are not really known or appreciated in Sweden, the same goes for all cutting edge music. Even the big name Swedish dj's are not known in their homeland.
I'm English and have lived in Sweden for a few years, Swedes taste in music is awful and the nightlife is so bad!!!
It is such as shame because they have some great talent
It say's alot for a country when the Eurovision song contest
@LeeRecon Thats bs, we dont......at all!! When they played here in their own city (Göteborg) they could have sold 10 times more tickets. We love em here, espcially in Gothenburg.
ppl who blather about everything before Silent Shout being shit are so deluded, Deep Cuts is way underrated by comparison. GNO, Rock Classics, Heartbeats, Is It Medicine, The Cop, what's not to admire?
In Sweden they were at least nominated six times for a Grammy-- and they did take away Best Dance Album, so they are pretty mainstream over there. The good news is that they haven't seemed to let it get to their heads yet.
The Grammys are a mainstream event. If they were nominated, that means they've caught the eye of the mainstream. Neither of them showed up, and that proves that they haven't let it get to their heads, like I said before.
mainstream attention doesn't make their music mainstream. mainstream music is music that caters to a certain sound to cater to the mainstream, assuring success and attention.
Well, the fact that they were nominated means they're mainstream in Sweden. Furthermore, neither of them showed up for the ceremony, which proves my point that they haven't let their popularity get to their heads.

Like it's any different in any other country. Nightlife generally sucks, period, and the global music taste is awful.
ubbecykelkedja 2 years ago 2
It's alot different!
In the UK the nightlife is fantastic with something for everyone!
I'm a dj who plays Techno, Electro, and House, the club scene, from commercial to really Underground sounds, is massive in the UK!
In Sweden there is nothing like the clubs we have in the UK
Instead the best we can do in Sweden is have a private Fest!
The club scene and music in general is 20 years behind the UK.
LeeRecon 2 years ago
I think you just hung out with the wrong people. There exists people who likes good music, yes, even in Sweden. They are just harder to find.
ubbecykelkedja 2 years ago
I only know one guy in Sweden who likes proper Underground Dance Music!
Nearly everyone i know back home in England is into Underground Dance Music!
The Knife's sound is very Underground and intelligent music, but everyone in Sweden thinks they sound weird!!!
