@fasttruck93l Sonic 1 was an entirely new vehicle with a much more powerful engine than the one used in the original Spirit Of America. The Spirit was too badly damaged from a Bonneville crash to ever run again and Craig restored it to static display status only, which is how it can be seen today.

I saw the car at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum in 78 or so. It's way smaller than you would think. Very cool though.

Loved this stuff when I was little. I was born in '61. Made it to the salt in '91 for Teague's run. My dad took me to see this car when it was on display under a tent at the Buena Park mall in Orange County while I was still pretty young. It looked HUGE! So cool.
