Also, Eli the last chapter says "Our common friend" and it means that both Gordon and Eli have made an contract for hes purposes. I'd say that hes not a human... He can warp through time and reality make someone invincible aganist thier own will, but what if its only is written on the contract? Maybe the title "Half-Life" means that G-mans victims (Like Gordon) have sold half of their own life, but for what purpose? Is the victims slaves? Or is the Victims themself?

Just to clarify, City 17 is in Sofia, in Bulgaria. I gathered this from where the art director of HL2 lives and the original journey map for HL2. It might not be Sofia, but somewhere close to that.

About City 17: For a brief time, part of Finland was occupied by the USSR and made into the Karelo-Finnish Autonomous SSR. Maybe HL2 is in a parallel universe where history progressed differently and the Soviet Union never dissolved and even expanded out of the Eastern Bloc, then was taken over by the Combine. The influences of Soviet culture would still be there.

True Aperture is training Chell, but she escapes in Portal 2 which takes place several hundred years later. If the combine did take over, then that wheat field would have combine structures.
The quote at the end reinforces one of my theories that G-man is an ex-government agent with otherworldly powers not known to the public (but known to the government), with the sole purpose of controlling and concealing information about extraterrestrial and supernatural happenings. He destroys Black Mesa because he doesn't want it to get out, and he "buries" Aperture Science possibly. He is surviving against all odds in order to defeat the combine which is a bigger threat than he imagined.
Furthermore, the reason he removes Aperture Science from public view is because he is looking for super soldiers who survive against all odds, and Chell is one of them. So while he deals with the combine, the dormant Aperture Science is training Chell, and eventually Gman will need her to help his plan to defeat the combine. He didn't plan to use Gordan Freeman after the portal exploded, but the vortigaunts stopped him because they knew deep down that Freeman was needed. Gman loses his powers...
And thus, Gman's two other recruits, Adrian Shepard and Chell, are left untouched because Gman is trying to regain control. Chell ends up in Aperture Science AGAIN because Gman was unable to reach her in time. Adrian Shepard has not entered the battle yet because Gman is pre-occupied. Once he regains control, Gordan Freeman would be seen as no longer needed, but since he no longer has control of Freeman, Freeman is outliving his usefulness to Gman and ruining Gman's plans. Then - Episode 3.

The combine are Universal Slavers, and Gman is an important part in the fight against them. He is using gordan to lure the combine to earth, where a final battle can be staged.. however, the humans have caused great trouble by shutting down the super portal, now the combine cant get through. it makes the most sense. the human race has an important part to play in a much bigger war.

i like most people's saying i payed half life one for fun i wanted to see what would happen if you tryed to kill him so i used alien mode every shot did nothing when you do hit him a force feild keeps him alive try it yourself you have do it at the start of the game when he is in a locked room but you cant break the glass

My theory is, Gman is a aperture labs worker and that's why he armed the bomb in opposeing force and he is keeping you alive because he wants you to go to the borealis (idk if that's the spelling XD) and trigger something off in there for his plan for making aperture rule the world or something. The quote at the end reinforces one of my theories that G-man is an ex-government agent with otherworldly powers not known to the public (but known to the government), with the sole purpose of controlling and concealing information about extraterrestrial and supernatural happenings. He destroys Black Mesa because he doesn't want it to get out, and he "buries" Aperture Science possibly. He is surviving against all odds in order to defeat the combine which is a bigger threat than he imagined.

Furthermore, the reason he removes Aperture Science from public view is because he is looking for super soldiers who survive against all odds, and Chell is one of them. So while he deals with the combine, the dormant Aperture Science is training Chell, and eventually Gman will need her to help his plan to defeat the combine. He didn't plan to use Gordan Freeman after the portal exploded, but the vortigaunts stopped him because they knew deep down that Freeman was needed. Gman loses his powers...

The combine are Universal Slavers, and Gman is an important part in the fight against them. He is using gordan to lure the combine to earth, where a final battle can be staged.. however, the humans have caused great trouble by shutting down the super portal, now the combine cant get through. it makes the most sense. the human race has an important part to play in a much bigger war.

My theory is, Gman is a aperture labs worker and that's why he armed the bomb in opposeing force and he is keeping you alive because he wants you to go to the borealis (idk if that's the spelling XD) and trigger something off in there for his plan for making aperture rule the world or something.
