I'm a female who doesn't follow boxing and knows anything about the sport but wants to do these. The moves are awesome and fun to practice to get abs!
most of the people here trying to criticize Jeff here are probably fat couch potatoes that are holding a bag of chips watching this.. its easy to pretend that ur an E-mma fighter, E-trainer, E-beast, Ephysiotherapist.. if your that good tat u can give jeff advise why dont you go ahead and post videos and help other people out ? Common im waiting.. ya thats what i thought
Hey guys, I just saw this video and actually was reading about this same topic the other day. I did some searching around and stumbled onto this cool site that offering totally free report and tips about losing belly fat, building abs, diet plan, and many more... I thought it was helpful and simply amazing...
Check it out here "biturl.co\weightloss\" just copy paste that to your url bar ;)
You would never throw a upper cut without any opening punches anyway, so if you're stepping forward to throw the uppercut it should be because it gets your into your stance again. Unless you're in a clinch-fight (what ever it's called in english), in which case you wouldn't step forward anyway.
.. And if he's a lot taller than you, I guess you could step under his punch and try and land the uppercut. I would personally go for the hook in that case, but that might just be me.
Anyway, the point is to work out your core in a different way, not learn boxing. This It's clearly not the most effective way of getting better at boxing.
Yes it does strengthen your abbs. your abbs are the same as any muscle if you workout and engage the muscle it will tear rebuild and become stronger aslonge as that is how you are training, for example for muscle strength and endurance its 12-15 reps 3 sets
Excellent advice!!! I use this workout and people are coming up to me thinking I'm doing MMA training! Chicks find this out so I'll be doing alot of hip workouts with slot of thrusting!!! Your the best Jeff!! Keep sending me more videos!!!
Jeff I really need to get back in shape.I want to Have a better body than I was in high school .I'm going to get back in shape. and you break the work out down so easy we get into it .thumbs up to you man!!!!!!
@the4RESAU LOL! Too nice at times, I think. I just hate going to the gym where idiots that want to socialize rather than workout just walk up and talk to ya...
Jeff I'm extremely interested in getting your 90 day athleanx x program but I only have a straightbar a curling bar and 70 lbs of weights is it still possible for me to get extreme results and alot of use out of your program with so little resources
@ThisPoorCommenter Ofcourse there is! There are many super effective body weight workouts that will get you ripped! Equipment is good to add resistance and so help you build muscle tho!
you should have pointed out that it's quite important to breathe out every time you punch(or cover)...i know it's absolut basic stuff...but you always got some guys training without proper breathing and the heads getting more and more red every second ;)
@mursalat dude, under those six packs i tell u, there's twelve packs and under those twelve packs, there's twenty four packs. those sumo wrestles have more muscle in their body than i can think of anyone else. just what cuntex said, they dont want others to be jealous of their physique XP
@TheK0894 - Generally you work this area, the side obliques, when you twist or rotate your core. For instance, you're in an decline bench, you lock your legs at the tops, lie back with the weight, do a sit up/crunch and move the weight from left to right. There are torso rotation machines and oblique exercises, but instead of explaining it would be best to search for them here on YT or just to Google them....
all this abs exercise that you show us, do they help to loose fat? or i just have to do cardio? i've allways had some fat arround my abs and never had them defined, how can i do it?
Hi Jeff! My name is Kent, I am 55 years old and I am a big fan of your training principles. I exercise three times a week, and the results are amazing after just three months of training. I have a question though ... why is there no training for calves in athleanX? All the best / / Kenta from SWEDEN.
@JDCav24 hey Jeff, another awesome video. Im making some real gains with the athleanx training programme and your personal tips. Quick question: what is your view on ab wheels?
Jeff as always. . . . amazing advise. I love your staple phrase "you don´t have to be a proffesional athlete to look like one; you just need to train like one." Thank you for every effective, no non-sense bit of information you share. And, as I always say, if by following your advise I get to look have as good as you look, man I´ll follow you to the end of the world. Thanks again!!!
QUICK question, the bands are 30 bucks, which are expensive in the situation of a jobless 17 year old, however i have rubber tubing, could i maybe use that instead?
@shaqster187 Like he says he's not just trying to sell his stuff... use anything with the same characteristics as the bands and it'll work. Rubber tubing will be fine, bungee cord, whatever.
they should team up (and not sell out like arnel wankericafranco and skinny vajayjayvinney, and start tryin to sell everything they can, spamming four emails at a time) and do some really cool stuff, and evern if they did offer to sell stuff, i would buy it. because they are awesome. Love you jeff :L:L
@markgoffeney Scott is a fag...not that there's anything wrong with that, but his training principles are basic. You can attribute his physique to consistency, genetics, and good nutrition. He's a good looking guy that was on The Real World. That's why he's popular. Training with a pillow? C'mon & he trys to play it off like it's some fantastic fitness tool. The shake weight is better. ha Jeff is a world class educated trainer with innovative unique effective training techniques. No comparison!
@dda030582 Harsh :L..The only thing i can reply to that is: At least he is consistent with it. I wouldnt mind being as popular a him, or in as good shape as him, hes fairly fuckin strong judging by what he lifts. YEah the pillow thing was a bit far, but he played to the masses with that one. Other wise, his FREE workouts are good like, demonstrations.. its all good. But yeah, jeff is way ahead of him to be fair. Chris krueger is another awesome guy
Great information! They teach you to hit that way in martial arts, by rotating your core. I guess you could use the bands to train your kicks as well for leg work.
Sorry but this is NOT how boxers train their abs! if you don't get on the floor/slantboard /or swiss ball and do the traditional abdominal exercises plus the use of the medicine ball your not going to be able to take punches, kicks etc to the body simple as that...
@cruiserweight190 he didnt just mean thats all they do he just ment these exercises work the abs aswell thats why boxers have good core muscles because they effectively do both traditional and theses abs workouts
@TheRunAway46 thats funny because I have been in and out of boxing/kickboxing gyms & camps for 20+years I have never seen anyone do this. he is insinuating that this is how boxers train their core and its not! yes your using your core when you shadowbox do bag/padwork & spar I have never seen shadowboxing with a giant rubberband called ab work if this is just for the "average joe" then great. point of fact is he's saying that that boxers train their core in this fashion and I'm saying not so.
@cruiserweight190 - what Jeff is doing is giving you an alternative method to work your core while you practice some punches. Is this how every fighter trains? Probably not, but as someone with over 10 years invested in martial arts training, I think this is definitely a new way to practice and get a good ab workout at the same time. Lighten up.
