That Dep Police Chief is so full of shit it isn't even funny! I have family members in the police force who have also served in Iraq and they would be the first to tell that dumb bitch to go fuck herself if she thinks her officers were justified in their actions! Those fat joebagofdonuts at McCarren are mouth breathers who shouldn't even be wearing a uniform much less call themselves peace officers! Would love nothing better than to tag team with Mark in a mano e mano payback of justice!
@MrBrandonjk They pick the side the Media told them to pick and like marionettes they puppet what the Media wants them to Believe. People never consider that some people may have Bias (this reporter especially.)
I never jumped to a conclusions, but I had the benefit of actually being there and have spoke with the ticket checkers, the TSA and the Metro Cops themselves. But even without this, a tiny poke into Ben Deci's career would show he hates the airport.
@greataff So apparently hating the airport is worthy of getting your ribs broken. Do you realize how extreme a situation has to happen for me to be able to taze someone and break his ribs without getting charged with a crime? Most likely even if someone was mugging me I couldn't get away without going to trial for what this cop did. And they say, because he swore at them and yelled at them, they can break his ribs?
They have a very low self-esteem and thinks that badge will save them. Let me clue you in on something. If I, and I only, feel I've been wronged by ANYONE, I don't give a FUCK what profession they are into. I'M GETTING FUCKING REVENGE MOTHERFUCKER AND NOT A FUCKING THING WILL SAVE YOU because you will forget one day. I won't. Revenge is ALWAYS best served cold.
Give me a fucking break. Thus cunt is just that, a cunt. The cops should have shown PROFESSIONALISM and laughed off the demands from Sgt. England. Those cops had no RIGHT doing what they did. I really believe now most cops (80%) of them are cops because they are losers within themselves. Meaning
@WilliamHCarney The unlawful arrest was a bad idea, and had the soldier complied with it we wouldn't be having this conversation. However, the video shows him backing away from someone trying to cuff him. It is at this point the soldier starts losing credibility. The damn cop beats him with a stick and he still doesn't get on the ground until the tasering cop forces him there.
The Courts threw out lawsuits from both sides, and I can't agree with them more: they're all at fault
@greataff Fuck those cops. If I were that soilder. I'd hunt those motherfuckers down with EXTREME PREJUDICE and enforce my own law. Las Vegas Cops DO NOT exercise good judgement at all. Pretty soon, people will start getting revenge and a badge won't save no one. I know unequivocally without a doubt, if I'm not treated by the Clark County justice system. I'm going to react like my man in the movie Law Abiding Citizen. Now, my favorite movie.
@greataff The cop was trying to cuff Mark England for no valid reason and he served in what, 3 war zones, for the USA. That might cause a person to hesistant about being cuffed for no valid reason. A bottle of pop soda is not just cause for arresting someone, imo. Also imo, he did nothing really wrong and I don't agree that his case against police brutality and injustice should be thrown out of court. Instead, the case surely should be thoroughly investigated.
Department response - "it's okay, he was upset at an airport."
Come on, solider or no solider, airport police should be able to handle someone who's pissed because he missed a flight without tasing and beating him. Idiots. No wonder they're working in an airport.
Oh, come on. Does anyone truly believe this clown (Sgt. Mark England) "spoke in a calm voice and was polite," as he claimed, while he ("the soldier in me") sought a confrontation with airport staff after missing his flight? The absurdity of that totally undermine his credibility. Instead, the incident was far more likely exactly as police claim - he was angry, belligerent, and then resisted arrest (justifying the use of force).
@XxANZMFxSTUDIOSxX MANY of Metro's police officers and cadets are also members of the Nevada National Guard. Metro opens their range for the Guard for their firing qualification and both must work together to police Las Vegas during New Years.
@greataff sorry. i just get pissed off when i see comrades getting beaten. for ZERO reason. i acually had a much longer comment but i took it down to that.
@XxANZMFxSTUDIOSxX As a veteran myself I have nothing but respect for those who give up their freedom to serve in the armed forces. However I also feel that they have a duty to project a good image of those who do. Making soldiers look like powder kegs who will yell at elderly TSA agents and disobey cops does not project a good image.
However, the report did not show this, typical "unbiased" media
and what about common knowledge about cops not liking military lol...police officer is one of the main jobs most military memebers get into afterward..well at least on the infantry side...trust me i kno a little about it lol
The soldier was beat becuase he wouldnt go away!!?? lol some people just shouldnt be aloud to comment on some things...and the metro lady in the interview..giving her opinion on how U.S. soldiers should act lol...lemme tell ya lady...soldiers..marines..etc. we have a sense of entitlement b.c WE SIGNED THE PAPERS so forgive us if we look at civilians like idiots sometimes and the guy wanted to express his displeasure with tsa for making him miss his flight..then you got some fat-ass wanna be
He's not just a soldier... he's a medic: The bravest of the brave. They run through hell and fire to render live-saving aid to fallen comrades. Everyone who's ever served in the military knows "you don't fuck with the doc." This is just disgusting. Cops are fucking cowards. They won't go into ghettos because they're terrified of crips and bloods, but they'll beat up on innocent law-abiding soldiers.
How many times do you think that cunt getting interviewed spread 'em and then did the walk of shame to the bathroom with baby batter hanging down to her ankles to climb the LVMPD command pole (or is that ladder?).
@fatalwish666 wrote, "ill say what ive said before go ucmj on that fat pos and there is legel presicedence soldiers 24/7 ucmj 24/7 wreck that dudes military career."
Why? Because a faggot pussy PIG from LVMPD was getting his bitch ass embarrassed.
LVMPD are all scum and giant pussies without Taser or backup.
You sound like another faggot whiny PIG.
I hope you catch one in the dome during a routine traffic stop you sorry fuckin' cooze.
wow that woman just has ignorant bitch written all over her. she is SO certain of the events, she remembers them better than the guy who was actually involved. amazing
I think that the woman that they interviewed from Metro wouldn't know her ass from a hole in a tree. She should be fired like right now. She thinks he was yelling when I bet it was the officers that were yelling. This woman is a total BITCH! Fire this woman now
Metro cops are scum. Vegas is a toilet. Try going to old north LV some time. Anyone who tried to defend the violent over reaction of the police is either a cop, a cop lover or a retard (maybe all three).
Being a soldier is irrelevant. This type of thing happens to "regular citizens" in Vegas and around the U.S. EVERY FUCKING DAY and nothing ever comes of it. Perhaps we don't know the whole story, but excessive force is excessive force, especially when the suspect showed no aggression and didn't harm ANYFUCKINGONE.
@MsNooneinparticular I agree these things do happen everyday, but when it happens to a soldier the people should be even more enrage. These people risk their lives in foreign land to protect us, and are held to a high standard, they can't just beat up on civilians and get away with it. Then they come back here and get beat up by a cop that couldn't stand being disrespected? Give me a fucking break, in a free society the people are allowed to say fuck the government without fear.
@zackhardball Because back in 2007, the people in Washington DC decided that liquids were a potential danger and banned most of it, thereby reducing the perceived risk.
The beating was because the soldier was told to go away and not come back, then refusing to show his boarding pass, then refusing arrest.
Police are pigs anywhere in the whole universe. They use more force that they need becouse they are allow to do so, we are to blame for let this happend. Any body that become a police know that they be allow to overpower anybody and that's what they like to do for a living. They are worst than any criminal, becouse criminal do not have morals but police are supposed to have high morals, but in most cases is the other way arrownd.
Does not matter how offended the TSA or LE agents get. It is their job to keep the PEACE not ASSAULT. This clearly is a case of the abuse of our government against its citizens.
Due to this video, I am NEVER going to Vegas. I am also going to recommend every soldier under my command avoids Vegas and I will show this video. My brother is an Indianapolis police officer. The Vegas police were only into beating him into submission, not law enforcement. Cowards, go into the combatives pit one on one.
@nihilist66 I'm sorry you feel that way, but I must warn you that not all soldiers have integrity. The ten seconds of video you see look very bad on its own, but as someone who was there I can assure you the situation is a bit more complicated. The first cop did try to make an arrest, but soldiers tend to be too strong for the average cop to detain.
Alexander James Frémont
Civilian Paramedic serving along our Soldiers in Afghanistan
@nihilist66 Why is it that the military are held to such a high standard, and the vast majority of soldiers live up to the high standards, but cops are allowed to beat on a war hero and get away with it. Cops and their defenders always use the excuse of being highly stress, and their lives being in danger for their aggressive behavior. I think being in combat and being shot at by people who doesn't speak English is much more stressful and dangerous, but we expect them to act professionally.
@nihilist66 Whenever I see a soldier on the street, I would offer to buy them a cup of coffee and thank them for their services. Most are very humble about their role in defending our country. I for one know who the real hero are in this country, just wish more Americans did too. Thank you for your service, your country owes you a great deal of gradtitude .
So he backed away. I don’t blame him, and only in the deluded mind of juiced up pig would think that be anything but normal. When some power hungry stooge rants on about arrest OVER ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING. I would walk away too. What brand of soda means nothing. As far as credibility, the 3 foot wide porker motioning this soldiers collapse will destroy the cop's credibility. What planet is this police dept on to actually defend physical assault against a decorated veteran?!?!
@supergrover6868 It wasn't over nothing, England refused to show his boarding pass. Even decorated veterans can break the law. This decorated 30 year old 6'1 veteran is a lot stronger than a 50 yr old 5'7 cop, the cop tried to manhandle the soldier but failed.
If you honestly expect the cops to let you just walk away after trying to arrest you, you clearly don't care about the rule of law.
@greataff Refused to show a boarding pass? Big deal. Like many citizens he’s sick of the Gestapo BS that we are subjected to in these airports. There’s no rule law here issue here just a pig a snit. Too bad if cops don’t get their butts kissed, they rarely deserve any respect at all. Why they don’t is exemplified with this brutality. As far as who was acquitted well, OJ got off too. Being backed by this deluded Chief doesn’t make them any less criminal for this despicable beating.
@supergrover6868 If he's sick of the "Gestapo BS", he could have file a complaint or sued for unlawful arrest. However the minute he started resisting, he lost his credibility. This Chief knows a hell of a lot more than you know about this case.
@greataff you have showed that you don't know anything about the law. the airport cop in this case was very unprofessional. he went about everything the wrong way. if that soldier wanted to be a real problem, he could have easilly taken the cop down but he didn't. that should say something right there. the airport cops were 100% in the wrong on this one. i know what i'm talking about because i'm a cop myself and i know a lot of airport cops.
@MegaStevie55 I was there, I know things you don't know. Like how the soldier was behaving infront of the ticket checkers, bin loaders, how he yelled at TSA officers (that's intimidation, which got the officer's attention to begin with) and how he was told not to return to the checkpoint, but did so anyway.
I know the cops were in the right because Internal Affairs, the Citizen's Review Board cleared him and the courts threw his case out.
There was no resisting. Walking away from bully with a bad attitude isnt resiting anything. This cop had no cause for any of this whatsoever. They are nothing but simple thugs and more get worse everyday. Who cares what kind of can it was? The fact these vile pigs would raise a hand over a can of anything is insane. And the fat ass in the back joking about the taser is ionly more indication of what cheap ignorant thugs these guys are.
@supergrover6868 Acordding to SGT England HIMSELF, he back away when the cop tried to arrest him (this is well before he tried to hit). Has the SGT chose to surrender, he wouldn't have been hit.
It matters it takes away the reporter's credibility. If they get the details wrong then they can get the main point wrong too.
This is about England's response to being arrested, not about TSA's policies and procedures.
As an ex soldier myself who fought against Islamofacism in Bosnia, my fuse would burst if I had to put up with TSA. It is why we all ski Japan now and not Aspan or Vail anymore. The US can go to hell for all I care.
This lady is talking shit, she looks like a racist nazi. The cops should pay for the time that soldier, a federal employee is listed injured. Everyone wants to know what did that soldier do to be beaten and tazed. Assholeness is not a reason to be physically harmed.
A. he wasn't running. B. backing away from a physical assault by anybody, tin badge or not, is not resisting any arrest. C A can of frigging sprite?!? Your insane! These pigs have no defensible position at all. I dont give a frogs leap what any two bit silver tongued lawyer says, support of TSA activities is unconstitutional and completely un-American PERIOD!
@supergrover6868 I meant running as in escaping. When a cop turns you around and grabs your hands and then you back away it's called resisting arrest.
I do not defend the TSA's policies, it is a matter of dispute whether or not preventing dangerous items from going on planes is "reasonable."
Finally he was carrying a Mountain Dew, if the media got that wrong: how much else can they get wrong.
@yllibotiv A few seconds of blurry out of focus video does not speak for itself. You realize that the video was released by the SGT and selectively edited by the newsmedia to make him look good, right?
These police officers should be allowed to be beaten to death by the Sgt. I would be willing to video tape it as a training video for what will happen the next time a POS cop touches one of our soldiers.
When are people gonna learn Cops r only Cops cuz thy can't get a hard on? No other reason than pure frustration with their worthless non--existent lives...Period...Then come the idiot justifification by piling on useless charges..lawyers that say anythng to make a case...Pukes, all of them...
The spokeswoman claims the Officer threw the dollar bill on the ground because he didn't want anything in his hands. Then why did he take it in the first place? Did the Guardsman force it into his hands? Maybe the cop initially thought it was a larger denomination and became upset when he realized he was being paid-off at a higher rate. I guess the lesson here is to always properly bribe the Police. If they are fat, start with a 20. They are obviously less ambitious. Higher ranks = larger bills.
@jbird0168 It does, I am also surprised it took the SGT months to go to the media. I'm guessing he went to his local media before going to the Las Vegas Media.
if we ever had a civil war, and i had to take a cop into custody, i would beat the ever living shit out of his ass and claim i was doing my job. i seriously hope a cop intervenes in federal jurisdiction so i have the opportunity to get some payback.
Or let's you start smarting off at me in a bar.I black-jack you and when the cops show up I say I felt threatened, that's OK? That's what happen here, like it with the shoe on the other foot.Even better, one day you'll do something benign and you'll get shocked,ya that's what it'll take. We'll the Las Vegas Gastapo has your respect then buddy boy.
@CB48197 If you harass a TSA official, you disrupt security, the Metro officer asked for a boarding pass and attempted to arrest upon refusal. Sgt England.
Sgt England refused to comply with the arrest... That's what deserves a beating.
as my lawyer always says, "don't fight the cops on the street because you will lose, let me fight them in the courts because I can win"
Seriously.. He was beaten bloody and tazered over an argument? Is this what America's airport security is like now? And they say that their actions were in accord with the law? If it is then America is not really secure anymore.. Really wish ''cops'' like them get jail, sacked and will rot in hell.
@makjj1234 Well no, Sgt England was let go! Sgt England came back to start a fight "the soldier in him wanted answers", he was told to go away. When he refused to present a boarding pass (as all airport employees are allowed to request) an arrest attempt was made.
The problem was where Sgt England tried to resist. Even if the arrest isn't justified that does NOT give Sgt England the right to resist
@greataff Right. But why was he dismissed when he wanted some answers? And was such force that necessary? They had almost 3 officers the scene. I am sure that they could have easily taken him down.
@makjj1234 He was dismissed because he didn't like that the TSA Supervisor said that his yelling brings discredit to the CA National Guard.
The had 2 overweight and out-of-shape police officers, there's no way they could have gone hand to hand combat against a soldier, police DO NOT fight fair, doing so would be suicide, especially against a fit to fight soldier.
Remide me not to come to that right wing gastapo city.Where the mafia low-lifes get away with everything and a guy who puts his life on the the line get's beat up by LV uniformed thugs.
@greataff Ya typical corporate type reply. While people in this country pay lip service to guys like this and mistreat them when they assert their rites, what a country.Like you might when a worker asserts his, hmmm?
This country at times makes me want to puke when I see things like this.We talk about equal justice under the law BUT if your not rich you go to jail while the rich go to
fancy resorts, get good health care and have the ear of the polititions.America, the society money can buy.
@CB48197 You do NOT have a right to harass unarmed federal officers (who are basically defenseless) You do not have the right to yell loudly and disrupt airport security. And you do not have a right to resist arrest.
As for my employees, they do have every right to quit and/or find better employment (when the economy was good some of them have)
@greataff one is forbidden from..."yelling loudly"? You have LAWS that forbid yelling? One step away from forbidding talking and thinking I guess. Oh wait - talking is also practically forbidden as well.
So, you have many "do NOT have the right". Do you have any RIGHT? Like any at all? Is breathing still allowed in your "free" country?
@staskoteina Yes, yelling loudly at airport security disrupt operations, if you do that on private property it's called trespassing. Also screaming at an federal officer is considered threatening, what about the right of the security officers not to be threatened at work?
I said many times before that the Federal government is fascist. Forget about sending troops abroad with the false notion of supporting democracy when you will have no democracy to export. Look around you, you can see the changes in the loss of your civil liberties. And yes, the war on terrorism is a hoax and a ploy to rob you of your freedom. I don't need to sound like a conspiracy theorist, because your Federal government is already abusing its powers every day.
Had he of been a gang banging piece of shit there would be so much public outcry that the officers would be forced to leave their jobs......but becouse he is an American soldier they are justified?
DEPUTY CHIEF KATHLEEN SUEY. you are a dopey whore who has a miniscule brain, who tries to insult every decent man and womans intelligence with your pure bile. how can you defend the indefensible. another lackey for the establishment, who sponsors thugs, who have ingrained mental problems. it is no different here in ENGLAND as it is in the states. the police on the whole are rabid animals, who seem to think they are fireproof, and why should'nt they when their corrupt, crooked superiors back them
you stupid fucking minisculed brain whore. DEPUTY CHIEF KATHLEEN SUEY. it is typical of those in establishment to create a defence of pure bile that it insults every decent man and womans intelligence. why do they defend the indefensible. it seems it is no different in the states as it is here in ENGLAND. whereby the police act like rabid animals. the bully mentality seems the be ingrained in their thought patterns. nothing but goverment sponsored thugs.
@Morderkaj could not have phrased it better my self. the trouble is they try to insult everybodies intelligence, when really they are only making fools of themselves. everyone can see through their lies and deceit.
it's time for our troops to come home and lock down that city and take down all down those pieces of shit that treat our citizens with such disreguard, especially that pos bitch that is backing up those cops. soap box wtf???
you might not think its the " kind of behavior a soldier should be displaying" but if thats the behavior metro should " be displaying" you REALLY need to go back under what ever rock you crawled out from under and stay there
Why would you even toy with some one fresh out of iraq or afghanistan. I have more respect for the dried up sandy sweat stains in his socks than i do for those cops..... U dont beat some one if they are arguing or being a jerk or whatever..
i wonder what will this two fat assholes do, let say they bring there fat dounut eating
buddys and SGT mark england with a couble of his army friends with there M16 and shoot it out. I've got a feeling the fat ones will cry or piss there pants even
I joined the Guard myself and ship to basic here in about 2 months and to see how police act to people who serve our country pisses me off, theres no way he deserved that, and it makes our country look bad when people try to defend people who do that shit. fuckin peice of shit scumbag police
So officers are allowed to taser and give you black eyes for raising your voice and using foul language? I can find tons of videos on here where officers are yelling and sometimes swearing at suspects but that is considered "lawful" for them. Also he didn't sound like he was yelling at the officers in that phone call that dialed into his wife, it's funny the Police Chief didn't mention that.
Whow... it clearly doesn't take much to be a policeman/chief in the US... -what morons. Sooooo glad i don't live in the stinking pit of debt called USA.
FUCK YOU METRO BITCH!!!!!!!! FUCK YOU COWARD COPS!!!!!!!!!!! SHOW SOME RESPECT FOR THOSE WHO FALL FOR YOU FUCKIN LIBERTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Airborne all thE way!
metro police might be undercover talibans, why would beat down a American soldier who serves and protects our country so our childrens will live safely in U.S.A.
I would believe you, but I personally know of two Metro officers who are National Guard Soldiers. Las Vegas Metro proudly support our troops, they even let National Guard soldiers use their firing range for qualification.
Well Cops are hated all around while soldiers are very respected for the most part. I was harrassed while in Uniform twice once in Gainesville fl and another in Seattle WA. Both times the cops seemed to not like the fact that I had a more respectable job than they did. Pretty funny.
@greataff you are either playing the role of devils advoacte D.JOHN CARDENAS, getting people to react to your indefensible comments. or you are just being a dopey cunt who has the same capacity of brain threshold as those rabid animals posing as police officers.no wonder the americans are known as the dysfunctional and insular race around the globe.
He arrived late to the airport thats why he missed his flight. He was pissed because of his poor time management. He returned to "put the TSA in their place" because the "TSA" were the ones that held him up at the security checkpoint for 36 seconds. He identified his rank to the "TSA in the first place. He gave the police a dollar bill when asked by a law enforcement officer to see his boarding pass inside the secure area of the airport. He failed to show good judgment. What a bonehead.
the cops are now targeting the men and women of the armed forces who is serving and protecting our country. come on, i mean, sgt. England was upset because of poor tsa mismanagement led to miss his flight and was just complaining about missing the flight, and then the las vegas police was called to "subdue" sgt. England because of his "irrational behavior"????
how would the metro cops like it if they get beaten up by military police on the military bases because of their poor behavior?
england was trained in hand to hand combat and could've easily overtaken the officer. he chose not to fight, because he upholds the standards of our armed forces. not the grudge of a man who never wanted to be a cop in the first place and descides to abuse his power. OORAH Mark.
jweb1594 > ".. trained in hand to hand combat .. chose not to fight .. standards of our armed forces .."
Don't take advantage of people's ignorance of military by spreading such nonsense. Regular soldiers receive only rudimentary hand-to-hand combat training, not enough to overwhelm several police officers.
Sgt. England knew better. Had the smart aleck handed over a dollar bill instead of his pass (ID card) on a military base, he would have been quickly swarmed by MP's with guns drawn.
fuck you dep. chief kathleen suey i'd like to see you get beaten like they beat SGT Mark England, who the hell what kinda corupt low life scum bag would allow her "officers" to beat a person who did nothing to physically harm the "officers", and not saying soldiers should get special treatment but because of him a women could get a job like you have dep. chief kathleen suey
Come on, we know that most of the officers at Metro are a bunch of bullies who don't follow the rules but want everyone to believe they are the heroes in our community. LVMPD sucks, we who live here all realize that.
Whether Sgt. England was being a jerk or not doesn't warrant the use of force used. Metro, you are wrong and I hope Sgt. England sues the crap out of you. I also hope he takes the offending officer to civil court and cleans his pension out.
The simple fact of the matter is no grown adult should have respect for that any type of authority. Sgt England doesn't have his capt. talking for him.
Even though he was shouting, he made a complaint to the TSA supervisor, and a metro cop was brought in.
Sgt. England's original complaint was never addressed.
Sgt England was beaten because he was loud and cursing?
All of that justifies the idiot cops actions?
I don't think so. those cops got there feeling hurt. that's why they over reacted.
The simple fact of the matter is that this guy has no respect for any authority other than military authority which he represents. If it isn't about him or his way, it's no way. He chose to resist, he chose to be combative and verbally abusive. He balled his fists, defiantly blocked blows, he was lucky he didn't get alot worse. He should be apologizing for disgracing his uniform and embarrassing the US Military on national television.
You have got to be kidding me..."defiantly blocked blows" what do you suppose he should have done: submissively got hit? it's morons like him that put a tax drain on the system because they invite law suits...him (and you) are public officials, you work on the public's, don't forget that. The cop let his emotions get the best of him, and those are the kind of dumbass cops that create a poor image of more controlled peace officers. He should have tasered before wielding a baton like zorro
OK genious lemme guess you are a cop or a wanna be so YOU JUST PROVED my point stupid. Why would somebody get there ass kicked my a loyal policeman you tard
He got exactly what he deserves. He should have followed the order of the Officer. Why did he hand the Officer a dollar bill? It is a safety problem for an Officer to reach down to pick anything up. I hope the DA approves charges against him.
You wish that would happen too?? Im sorry but pulling a dollar bill out of his pocket (regardless to the situation) does not warrant an ass beating. U sir, are wrong. Having been through a law enf academy and serving in the Marines for 5 yrs, the cops should have been charged with assualt and battery. They are a poor excuse for law enf and dont exemplify any discipline or patience.
No as a matter of fact i wouldnt. There are plenty of other options the officers could have used to get the Sgt to comply with their order if they we're placing him under arrest. U can take the side of these metro cops all u want. In the end, they were wrong and they should have been fired. I hope the Sgt wins his day in court and these officers are thrown out and never allowed to be police officers ever again.
@haditha27 They are probably going to eat themselves to death shortly (f**king santaclauses). But only after costing the taxpayer countless of dollars....
So in your opinion, 99% of the country is worse than the SGT?
As an MP, I can tell you I've seen the worst of soldiers. Some do have violent tempers and some are disrespectful of authority. Being in the military doesn't make you better, nor does it make you more of a "man." The military is here because people who are not in the military pay for it, never forget that.
ALOT of cops are former MP's, infantrymen, etc. So what, you say because you haev seen bad soldiers you have seen it all? I say if you think the Sgt was correct, then you are ignorant to the way people really are.
You misunderstand me, Godsmessenger3 said that serviceman are somehow better than civilians & I was saying that we serviceman aren't morally superior even pointing out it's non-serviceman who pay for the military.
I actually think the SGT was too aggressive with TSA and Metro, just like you.
I disagree, Police are supposed to project a higher standard in behaviour. Police are actually taught to diffuse situations like this...especially when the person isn't being physically combative or unarmed. "because I want to", isn't a good reason to cuff someone. I can garantee you that their use of force policy will get scrutinized heavily.
Hitting someone with a batton and tasering 3 times is excessive force. I'm disgusted by it, and the Las Vegas Metro PD should get their shit together, and no amount of sugar coating by some dumb PR cunt changes my mind
Standing there with the fists balled defiant and trying to be a badass is what got him tasered and hit. When someone doesn't respond to a strike, they get another. If they still do not respond, they get another. It's called strike and assess. He did what he should have done. It's not excessive. Try studying legal use of force policies. What are they supposed to do, allow him to punch them? It's idiot opinions like that that get people hurt. Fight police and you get what you get!
Maybe the sargent wasa little wrong but the cops were way outta line. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Besides i am waiting for the say when people get tired of there shit and cops start finding out about IED's and military ambushes. Its coming people are very tired of there crap
So because he did not fall to the ground after being violently struck Sgt. England was not compliant?

Give me a fucking break. Thus cunt is just that, a cunt. The cops should have shown PROFESSIONALISM and laughed off the demands from Sgt. England. Those cops had no RIGHT doing what they did. I really believe now most cops (80%) of them are cops because they are losers within themselves. Meaning
WilliamHCarney 3 months ago
@WilliamHCarney The unlawful arrest was a bad idea, and had the soldier complied with it we wouldn't be having this conversation. However, the video shows him backing away from someone trying to cuff him. It is at this point the soldier starts losing credibility. The damn cop beats him with a stick and he still doesn't get on the ground until the tasering cop forces him there.
The Courts threw out lawsuits from both sides, and I can't agree with them more: they're all at fault
greataff 3 months ago
@greataff Fuck those cops. If I were that soilder. I'd hunt those motherfuckers down with EXTREME PREJUDICE and enforce my own law. Las Vegas Cops DO NOT exercise good judgement at all. Pretty soon, people will start getting revenge and a badge won't save no one. I know unequivocally without a doubt, if I'm not treated by the Clark County justice system. I'm going to react like my man in the movie Law Abiding Citizen. Now, my favorite movie.
WilliamHCarney 2 months ago

Idiots. No wonder they're working in an airport.
jgrdonquixote 4 months ago
Oh, come on. Does anyone truly believe this clown (Sgt. Mark England) "spoke in a calm voice and was polite," as he claimed, while he ("the soldier in me") sought a confrontation with airport staff after missing his flight? The absurdity of that totally undermine his credibility. Instead, the incident was far more likely exactly as police claim - he was angry, belligerent, and then resisted arrest (justifying the use of force).

@zackhardball Because back in 2007, the people in Washington DC decided that liquids were a potential danger and banned most of it, thereby reducing the perceived risk.

I think being in combat and being shot at by people who doesn't speak English is much more stressful and dangerous, but we expect them to act professionally.
gsvkck 4 months ago

So he backed away. I don’t blame him, and only in the deluded mind of juiced up pig would think that be anything but normal. When some power hungry stooge rants on about arrest OVER ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING. I would walk away too. What brand of soda means nothing. As far as credibility, the 3 foot wide porker motioning this soldiers collapse will destroy the cop's credibility. What planet is this police dept on to actually defend physical assault against a decorated veteran?!?!
supergrover6868 1 year ago

He was beaten, cuffed and tasered because he was arguing? NICE! They really need to hire better attorneys because that defense is laughable.

The courts dismissed all parties (Metro and the SGT) of wrong doing. Neither side had enough evidence to convict the other.

metro police might be undercover talibans, why would beat down a American soldier who serves and protects our country so our childrens will live safely in U.S.A.
lito5211 2 years ago
I would believe you, but I personally know of two Metro officers who are National Guard Soldiers. Las Vegas Metro proudly support our troops, they even let National Guard soldiers use their firing range for qualification.

True but like anything else there is always a few bad apples in the tree.

Wishlist2day 2 years ago
Whether Sgt. England was being a jerk or not doesn't warrant the use of force used. Metro, you are wrong and I hope Sgt. England sues the crap out of you. I also hope he takes the offending officer to civil court and cleans his pension out.
Spadadiforza 2 years ago
I hope Sgt. England sues the crap out of the officers, LVMPD and Clark County. Maybe then they will train their officers better.
Wishlist2day 2 years ago
The simple fact of the matter is no grown adult should have respect for that any type of authority. Sgt England doesn't have his capt. talking for him.
Even though he was shouting, he made a complaint to the TSA supervisor, and a metro cop was brought in.
Sgt. England's original complaint was never addressed.
Sgt England was beaten because he was loud and cursing?
All of that justifies the idiot cops actions?
I don't think so. those cops got there feeling hurt. that's why they over reacted.
MagikPoo 2 years ago 2
The simple fact of the matter is that this guy has no respect for any authority other than military authority which he represents. If it isn't about him or his way, it's no way. He chose to resist, he chose to be combative and verbally abusive. He balled his fists, defiantly blocked blows, he was lucky he didn't get alot worse. He should be apologizing for disgracing his uniform and embarrassing the US Military on national television.
07reddie 2 years ago
You have got to be kidding me..."defiantly blocked blows" what do you suppose he should have done: submissively got hit? it's morons like him that put a tax drain on the system because they invite law suits...him (and you) are public officials, you work on the public's, don't forget that. The cop let his emotions get the best of him, and those are the kind of dumbass cops that create a poor image of more controlled peace officers. He should have tasered before wielding a baton like zorro

He got exactly what he deserves. He should have followed the order of the Officer. Why did he hand the Officer a dollar bill? It is a safety problem for an Officer to reach down to pick anything up. I hope the DA approves charges against him.

I wish that would happen too. Sadly the charges were dropped against the SGT.

They are a poor excuse for law enf and dont exemplify any discipline or patience.
haditha27 1 year ago 8
That wasn't the reason, the SGT was arrested for resisting arrest. I'm sure that you would give an ass beating to someone resisting arrest

Sorry for deleting haditha's comment
@greataff

DJ Cárdenas - PFC - NV Guard MP
greataff 2 years ago
ALOT of cops are former MP's, infantrymen, etc. So what, you say because you haev seen bad soldiers you have seen it all? I say if you think the Sgt was correct, then you are ignorant to the way people really are.
07reddie 2 years ago
You misunderstand me, Godsmessenger3 said that serviceman are somehow better than civilians & I was saying that we serviceman aren't morally superior even pointing out it's non-serviceman who pay for the military.
I actually think the SGT was too aggressive with TSA and Metro, just like you.
DJ Cárdenas - PFC - NV Guard MP
greataff 2 years ago
I disagree, Police are supposed to project a higher standard in behaviour. Police are actually taught to diffuse situations like this...especially when the person isn't being physically combative or unarmed. "because I want to", isn't a good reason to cuff someone. I can garantee you that their use of force policy will get scrutinized heavily.
Spadadiforza 2 years ago
Hitting someone with a batton and tasering 3 times is excessive force. I'm disgusted by it, and the Las Vegas Metro PD should get their shit together, and no amount of sugar coating by some dumb PR cunt changes my mind
Sa1isbury1976 2 years ago
I guess they should have just gone away after the force did not work. What a stupid comment.
tprx899 2 years ago
Standing there with the fists balled defiant and trying to be a badass is what got him tasered and hit. When someone doesn't respond to a strike, they get another. If they still do not respond, they get another. It's called strike and assess. He did what he should have done. It's not excessive. Try studying legal use of force policies. What are they supposed to do, allow him to punch them? It's idiot opinions like that that get people hurt. Fight police and you get what you get!

Maybe the sargent wasa little wrong but the cops were way outta line. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
