the reason the 360 price was lower when it came out was because it did not have an HD DVD player and wifi builtin. To buy these 2 things seperately (the HD DVD player for 360 and the USB Internet Adapter) it would have cost nearly 300. Add that to the to the price of the 360 and there u have the same price as ps3.

$399 is a good deal, for the extra $100 over the Xbox 360 you get Wi-Fi built in, a blu-ray disc player, free online, blu-tooth enabled, and some other cool stuff, not bad for $100 IMO, only worth it it you got an hdtv and like ps3 exlusives tho. Back when it was first released it costed $858 just to make it not including shipping to retailers and other costs, which was an insane deal since stand-alone blu-ray players were $1000+, so it isn't as much of a deal now but oh well still worth it.

online is free, you get a free controller, and YES games are not included but hey, the ps3 really is a bargain PS3, 400 dollars, the blu ray player build in, 700 dollars worth, enough said? nah, you get blue tooth, wifi, HDMI 1.3, 7.1 dolby surround, free online a web browser and ofcourse RELIABILITY! wich both Microsoft and Nintendo have lacked in before (and PS2 a little aswell with its earlier version)

Exactly right, it WAS the same price. Now if you are going to compare the 360 with the ps3 (just to make people feel better about what they paid,) at least do so by effectively comparing the hardware. Don't compare the entry level ps3 to the most expensive of 360s. It's unfortunate that the ps3 and 360 have the same games and same graphics, yet undoubtedly, one cost far less. Search for "Gametrailers system comparison", to see the comparisons of the same game on two systems.
